  • The video revisits my original Video No. 031, to update its previously inadequate in-use demonstration with something much better i.e. actually cutting overgrown lawn edge grass.
To reiterate, this is not a full product review, more an endorsement of this product. I thought it worth showing because finding a pair of edging shears for men over six feet tall is not easy. The various brands I initially tried in garden centres, were all far too short in the handle & often had weak thin blades. Even on my postage stamp of a lawn, short handled ones make me stoop & my back aches within five minutes. I know C.K Tools from being an engineer; they tend to be simple, not flash, no nonsense tools which professionals use because they do the job. These shears are no different. Those blades are big, robust, powerful, but alas heavy.

How does this compare to using a powered ranger of some sort?

Sorry, I have no idea what a powered ranger is. Could you be more product specific please ?

A powered edger. Hmm, well I wouldn't know. The clue's in the title, my lawn is a postage stamp, meaning small, very small, so I don't need such a fancy tool. I know US parks departments have lots of lovely powered edging tools, but here in the UK we don't.
I was at the world famous Kew Gardens the other week with my Mum for a day out; their gardeners were trimming the grass edges with cheapo manual lawn shears. Mine are far superior to theirs.
