Oberon in Lostbelt 6 pretended to be Merlin and taught Castoria Magecraft and all sorts of tricks via Telpathy basically when she was growing up. As such they're sorta almost like Father and Daughter in a way.
Oberon Vortigern one of the most cashcow males of FGO lol. People literally whaled for this servant on his initial release and it turns out that he's also really good in game that he became a meta support that replaces Waver too.
Replaces is a VERY big stretch lol.
Oberon is a servant with high risk high reward.

Oberon's art was done by the illustrator "Chica Umino". Nasu has been a huge fan of her eork for years, and he was able to meet her just before he started working on LB6.
He learned that she's actually a fan of FGO, and asked him if she could help him.
Nasu was originally going to make LB6 a story where Morgan was the villain and we defeat her and leave. What he describes as a "simple story"... but he also said FSN was a simple story, it's only simple to him.
Anyway, afterwards he came up with Oberon and asked Chica Umino to design him. Chica agreed and, even though she has a severe phobia of insects, made sure to get the design of them correct. That's why all the insects in Oberon-Vortigern's NP are so life-like. Chica looked at books with close-up photos and such of the insects, despite her fear, because she loved working on FGO so much.
Oberon's artstyle is so unique because it's Chica Umino's unique artstyle.
A lot of people didn't like Oberon's art, but I think it works. It makes him look like he popped out of a fairy tale book, doesn't it?
Oberon is awesome, and you should check out Chica Umino's other works to appreciate her for all she did for us FGO fans.
Afterall, since Nasu had Chica Umino helping him, which was a dream come true for him, he wrote so much and made LB6 so big it's bigger than fucking Lord of the Rings.
Without Chica Umino, we wouldn't have such a fucking banger of a Lostbelt.

In LB6 Muramasa attempted to Assasinate Morgan, and got captured as a Result. We rescue him and he tags along with us and helps us. Oberon asked him to make him a Sword. That Muramasa is the Alter Ego Servant with the Alien God. The Muramasa we summon is the Normal Muramasa. AE Muramasa sacrificed himself in LB6. Oberon wasn't with us at the Time so he wouldn't know, as such he thinks that it's the Muramasa he knows and asks about the sword he wanted him to make.
Oberon and Castoria relationship is like teacher and student. Oberon pretended to be Merlin.

Avalon Le Fay is Lostbelt 6, Oberon is a Main Character there and plays a huge rule along with a huge Plot Twist
Oberon isn't just the Fairy King Oberon, in Reality he is Vortigern, Artoria's Uncle. When he arrived the local Faeries adored him as their savior and accidently brainwashed him into thinking he was Oberon. His Class is Pretender, as he himself was unaware at first that he was sent to destory the Lostbelt. Only after travelling with us for a while do his Memories come back, though he keeps it a secret. Oberon is disgusted by Humans in general and the very concept of prunning Lostbelts, thats why he acts like he does. In Oberon Mode he plays the Happy Go Lucky Fairy King, but after we clear Lostbelt 6 and summon him there is no need to hide his true self anymore.
Oberon is cursed, he always lies no matter what, not even he can tell what is the truth and what is a lie, this leads to contradictions naturally. Also while he may act all grumpy, he CHOSE to be summoned by us. It's made clear multiple times that we cannot force a Servant to be summoned, if they don't want to fight along side us, then they won't. Despite that Bug Man here showed up in Chaldea.
If You played Persona 5 Royal, think Akechi. He's exactly like him. He openly admits to hating us and insults and whatnot but still he fights with us and helps us out. Also Both acted Nice and Polite at first until they revelead their true nature, at which point they stopped caring.

This dude gives a solid 70% np for your unit but after a turn they're gonna get their np drain by 20% but for buster 3 turns it doesn't matter, and he's also a walking black grail ce with a big demerit, overall a REALLY good unit
