Mercifully my local CofE church is a beautiful, bible-faithful and traditional church, with a healthy and thriving congregation as well as a lovely, experienced priest. I feel like I've had a good hand thrown to me by fate in my pursuit of my calling from God and my return to regular church life.
Please don't tar all churches of England with the same brush. A few years ago we signed the resolution not to have women vicars, neither do we support blessing same sex couples. The teaching is excellent and very bible-based indeed. I think these three things contribute to the fact that we have been thriving, attracting people from other churches who aren't perhaps as clear in their focus. There is also a very caring atmosphere at the church. Praise the Lord he is really blessing us. We would love to be able to employ more people so we can reach out more into the town of Lowestoft. So that is our prayer... To be able to spread the gospel further and further. Just over 100 years ago there was a revival here in Lowestoft. Let's pray God will visit the town again!
The problem is that in an Anglican episcopal form of Church government your congregation cannot stand alone. Your Vicar and Parish council may ignore the bishop or archbishop but if you do you cannot claim to be CoE. You are then in effect a congregational church with Anglican traditions.
It’s so encouraging to see so many CofE parishes continuing to practice biblical doctrine as your church does effectively ignoring the woke leadership in Lambeth. We all look forward to seeing God’s blessings upon your church and community.
Brett please pray for me as I have had to leave the Anglican Church of Australia who have gone WOKE. I celebrate the Lord’s Supper privately and attend a Catholic Church service where I receive a Blessing. Thanks for your warning to all Bishops of the world worldwide Anglican Church of the need for repentance over decisions that have denied the Gospel. God Bless
There are 23 Anglican dioceses in the Anglican Church in Australia. Each Diocese is autonomous and can choose to adopt the Canons of the General Synod of Australia, or not. There is a lot of difference between the various Diocese, in terms of 'woke'.
Thank you Reverend. I'm glad issue has been resolved. Children are our little seeds of hope for our future. We as adults must do everything to protect them. or what are we. Christian nation you say Amen to that 🙏
Trying times indeed Brother. Even over here. I've got both my grandmother and mother in the hospital and barely keeping my head above water. Praying for you and yours!
My Anglican church is small. We don't have a vicar and we dispair at times of the diocesan leadership. I preach once a month and told people look forward to my message. There is an other guy who speaks, also good. The gospel and christian life is proclaimed, but we wonder about the church in the west especially. The burocracy of the Anglican church amazes me. I have a vicar friend who refuses to do the paperwork. Amen. The gospel and pastoral care is what the faith is about.

I am a new Christian (although, I haven't been baptised), but I would never join the C of E, it seems to me that the leadership isn't even Christian, they're just a bunch of Socialists. I've never read any text that was so beautiful or inspiring. The Bible showed me that humans DO have a soul, and we're not just a random bag of meat (which is what I was taught). After reading it, I can see why Jesus was able to conquer the Roman empire, multiple other empires and saved the world; He will be back for us, and he will save us once again. God will forgive us in the same way he forgave the Jews, I think that in the future, the dam will break and we will turn back to Him en masse, and He will be waiting for us with open arms (hopefully!).
Congratulations on turning to Christ. Hope you are looking forward to your baptism. The Thief on the Cross didn't get baptised...but he was on a cross. All other Christians in the Bible got baptised as soon as reasonably possible- it is a wonderful thing.
I think we can say with pretty solid certainty that Welbey will never look back and repent, He is a Servant of the Adversary, His own Pride and Hubris will keep him right up until his own day of judgement.
The thing with women vicars coming into the church would and has had occasion for the laity leaving the church. If I was a woman wanting to do this I would be responsible for people leaving the church. How can this be a holy thing ?😮
I miss St Patrick's in Hove. A church with purpose with it homeless shelter (pre hostel) Taize chants purely sung (no instruments) centered round the Eucharist. I've had it with services competing with the noise of the world and bonkers theology. Just folk who want to come together in the name of Jesus.
I will just pop in with a quick observation. I remain in the Church of England because of my responsibility as a Chorister in line with the Chorister's Prayer! This makes me part of the Laity. I am willing to uphold and stand up for that. This situation of the last 40 years has come as something of a shock to me. And not exactly a welcome one! I heard Justin Welby's parting speech from the House of Lords and yes, it was disappointing! What should have been acknowledged was honest words of how short in falling into responsibility that was. Inappropriate is a word often used but it remains an apt description! That speech you will be alluding to - was that! And the Church of England will take several years or decades to straighten out the mistakes made! I will be clear on one more point. John Smythe should have been referred to the UK Police accordingly! The one relief is that it wasn't as bad as the Catholic Church, though I should have to be careful on how it's said. That was worse, this is particularly bad! As said, it's going to take a long time to straighten out the matter - and one of the things are the victims - including J P Smythe as well! - my thoughts are properly located there. I consider it as a long, precarious and difficult tunnel. In many ways, much more than the tunnel I negotiated in fighting for the vaccination programme! I'm guided by the Chorister's Prayer but I can only hope and pray that I don't run out of torches on the way! This is a much longer tunnel and perhaps a difficult one!
As a former disaffected CofE priest, I found a natural home in a TLM Catholic Church. Things are not perfect, of course, but the faith is traditional historic Christianity, and, surprise, surprise, its growing with many in their 20s. Vocations to the priesthood are plentiful & on the rise too. Deo gratias.
Your observations about growth in the TLM must be regional. Where do TLM stand statistically in the Roman Catholic Church? Not a small percentage? What did you do with all of truths of Anglican history, faith, and practice you once believed? 🤔
I often pray for the Lord's mercy because I also believe that the Lord has shown me Europe on fire because of war because of the just judgment of God upon us.
I made the same journey. Sadly, we have our own Trojan horses in the likes of Jamea Martin SJ (who's in favour at the Vatican, Heaven help us!) Agree with you about Starmer; how can anybody trust him. He didn't get voted in for himself, he got in because they wanted the other lot out. That's just the way Hitler got in - shivers! 34:20
It is interesting that you turned Roman Catholic but visiting Brett Murphy's website. Your abandonment of the truths of Anglican history, faith, and practice do not bother you? And where does the pope stand now traditional biblical morals pertaining to homosexual conduct? The Roman Catholic Church has been bereft of scandals? I understand, though, the similarity of worship.
Very good political overview of where we are at right now. Spot on. Most awful thing is that little can be done, but we can pray. It’s seems like a judgement on us.
Agree in what you are saying. Australia is heading that way with the prime minister of Australia, there is a Federal election coming up early next year. Also in Perth Western Australia Anglican woman archbishop has embraced homosexuals into the Perth Anglican Cathedral & condones blessing same sex marriage & allowing them to become ministers. It’s so sad what’s happening in the west & C of E & many other denominations who have gone woke.
Amen Brother .... Follow your conscience... under the Word of GOD ! GOD KNOWS WHO ARE HIS !!!! We Are In The Last DAYS ! TIME IS SHORT ! PRAISE THE HOLY NAME OF JESUS !!!! DECEPTION IS EVERYWHERE
We are between Vicars for St Martin's Church in Bristol and in interregnum at the moment. I serve as a Church Chorister and I am greatly saddened by many of what has gone on. I wouldn't be too happy with a Women Archbishop - but I tend to hope for a Archbishop of better Orthodoxy! I believe that a greater requirement for that is necessary. I wouldn't want to take up any role - except for the roles I wish to take up.
My local church of England church is really good, and my vicar is biblical and true to the word of God, and we had a conversation over this very scandal, and has been very good with this and while I debate whether or not to stay with the cofe
You run into the problem, though, that even your local parish or even bishop may be supportive of traditional biblical moral, you are still contributing to a denomination which is not. 🤔
@royquick-s5n aye, maybe, though is it not still worth fighting to defend, or do we just keep running away, at what point do we draw the line, and say here and no further, or is the answer to just keep running
@@geoffreycole8851 No running. Years ago a local Episcopal parish walked away from the parish church and property, met at a temporary location, bought an unused church building, and joined the Anglican Church in North America. Sadly several clergy in the Episcopal diocese sought haven in the Anglican Ordinariate, which I would not recommend because of the disavowal of Anglican truths required. Today there may be a body associated with GAFCON with which to connect, e.g. the Anglican Network in Europe.
Thank you Pastor Brett Murphy, always a blessing, and you are a blessing to us an the people the our Savior has lead to you, can you give the title of the red book you read from I want to find one here in Canada,
P.S the people who come to Christmas services, particularly Cathedrals are not Christians and never set foot in a church any other time. They just want the feelgood factor of pretty children singing carols to a high standard and the poetry of the King James Bible (which in the nativity story especially is sublime)
Where does the Roman Catholic Church now stand on traditional biblical morals with the pope's relegation of synodal ambivalences to the magisterium? It seems the Roman Catholic Church has had more scandals in recent years than in the whole of Anglicanism. What did you do with all of those Anglican truths you once believed? They are less true?
The RC church leads people astray into idolatry : worship of and prayers to dead people (Mary, the "saints"), preaches salvation by works, elevates priests and the pope when the Bible teaches that all Christians are saints and priests, the eucharist is a blasphemous abomination: mere men claim to be sacrificing again the King of kings and Lord of Lords who the Bible tells us was sacrificed once and for all, etc. I'm an ex RC: I know what an apostate church it is: it has many faces and shows a different face in Protestant countries: its idolatry is more obvious in South America or Italy. The pope lives in disgusting wealth and is as much a political figure as a spiritual one. The Vatican is replete with financial scandals.
Brett, I admire your reports of what has happened, especially descriptions of what others want to suppress. I do not agree with all of your commentaries on persons or events. I have a question about the source. It is my understanding that you represent an Anglican viewpoint, but what is your standing within Anglicanism now? You no longer officiate in the Church of England. Do you consider yourself a priest or presbyter of the Free Church of England waiting the outcome of appeal of your differences with Bishop Fenwick? 🤔
Not Brett, but I can answer this: The "Anglican Mission in England" (AMiE), the "Evangelical Connexion of the Free Church of England" (ECFCE) (FCE-Actual, (Some Background here!: the so called "FCE" is the FCE-Apostate and has been since 2002 when Fenwick was Ordained despite both Bishop's Arthur Bentley-Taylor and Barry Shucksmith (Barry Shucksmith now forevermore with the Lord Jesus Christ) calling for his, Fenwick's, Excommunication (due to his, Fenwick's, holding to white power Anglo-Israelist Heresy, his denial of the Filioque, his denial of the Five Points of Grace (and thus his holding to the Heresy of Wesleyan-Arminian-Pelagianism) his denial of the Five Solae, and his holding to the Papal Heresy of Transubstantionism) Instead! leading to them being locked out of the Convocation and thus Forming the ECFCE with a couple of other Preachers such as the Reverend Grahame Wray and the Reverend Virgil Tountas, who Left the FCE-Apostate due to Disgust at Fenwick's Ordination) and the ECFCE is basically the Continuing Remnant of the Original 1844 FCE) , the "Countess of Huntingdon's Connexion" (COHC) and the "Church of England-Continuing" (COFEC) (note, the last one is "King James Version Only" so the Sermons can be a little hard to Understand, but they are Fully Reformed) are all Independent Anglican Churches within either GAFCON or a US Paraministry. All are also Five Point Calvinist/Five Points of Grace as per the Unedited 39 Articles of Religion 1571, but there is a Split in that the AMiE and the COHC believe the Spiritual Gifts (such as Prophecy) are ongoing, while the ECFCE and COFEC believe those Gifts Ceased at the End of the Apostolic Age when the Apostle John went home to be with the Lord in around 101-105 AD. Hope that Helps!
Congregationalism, once called Puritanism, is holier than episcopacy? Suggest to where it led in the U.S. The Puritans formed the Congregational Church, which, in the late 1900s, merged with one of the Reformed Churches to form the United Church of Christ. Examine its theology and position on morals today.
The C of E desperately needs a King Josiah type figure who can lead a mass spiritual revival. A man dedicated to God and uncompromised by the world. Sadly, I think we will end up with the complete opposite, and the C of E will essentially cease to exist as a 'Christian' institution.
@@irish-u6p You're pretending not to understand. For others reading this, picking a woman of colored woman would be to pick a person based on their external characteristics and prioritize race and sex and gender sex fantasies above character and holiness.
I understand the outrage over Justin Welby’s speech in the House of Lords - if you believe that he is guilty of a significant wrong and yet seems so flippant about it. I have studied this whole issue carefully and read much of the Makin report as it relates to Justin Welby. In fact the only criticism of him that I can see there is that he should have followed things up more carefully. The idea that he covered up abuse is not shown here and is by no means proven. He has been condemned, essentially, not because he did anything seriously wrong, but because abuse is seriously wrong. British law holds to much higher standards than mob justice, so I am surprised by how many people have jumped on this band-wagon and made all sorts of unfounded accusations. I think that justin Welby's joking style in the House Of Lords was essentially him saying 'not guilty as charged'. I think that this is likely to be true. In losing Justin Welby we have lost a godly, highly motivated and highly principled good man. We may not see it, but we are all the worse for what is happening. I can’t see how this helps anyone.
You omitted that the Makin report is redacted. Too, you seem to limit the issue to legality. Is it not a moral issue also? What was Welby's moral responsibility in the past? 🤔
I wouldn't recommend the Lotus Eaters when talking about Māori. Their presentation was misleading, uninformed and bigoted. Britain does need a lot of prayer. Thank you.

The "Anglican Mission in England" (AMiE), the "Evangelical Connexion of the Free Church of England" (ECFCE) (FCE-Actual, (Some Background here!: the so called "FCE" is the FCE-Apostate and has been since 2002 when Fenwick was Ordained despite both Bishop's Arthur Bentley-Taylor and Barry Shucksmith (Barry Shucksmith now forevermore with the Lord Jesus Christ) calling for his, Fenwick's, Excommunication (due to his, Fenwick's, holding to white power Anglo-Israelist Heresy, his denial of the Filioque, his denial of the Five Points of Grace (and thus his holding to the Heresy of Wesleyan-Arminian-Pelagianism) his denial of the Five Solae, and his holding to the Papal Heresy of Transubstantionism) Instead! leading to them being locked out of the Convocation and thus Forming the ECFCE with a couple of other Preachers such as the Reverend Grahame Wray and the Reverend Virgil Tountas, who Left the FCE-Apostate due to Disgust at Fenwick's Ordination) and the ECFCE is basically the Continuing Remnant of the Original 1844 FCE) , the "Countess of Huntingdon's Connexion" (COHC) and the "Church of England-Continuing" (COFEC) (note, the last one is "King James Version Only" so the Sermons can be a little hard to Understand, but they are Fully Reformed) are all Independent Anglican Churches within either GAFCON or a US Paraministry.
I can see how a female Archbishop of Canterbury could raise eyebrows, but how would her being a woman of COLOUR make a difference?
DEI
@@RevBrettMurphy DEI? Of God?
The C of E desperately needs a King Josiah type figure who can lead a mass spiritual revival.
A man dedicated to God and uncompromised by the world.
Sadly, I think we will end up with the complete opposite, and the C of E will essentially cease to exist as a 'Christian' institution.
@@irish-u6p You're pretending not to understand. For others reading this, picking a woman of colored woman would be to pick a person based on their external characteristics and prioritize race and sex and gender sex fantasies above character and holiness.
@@irish-u6p Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. But your guess might not be completely wrong.
Thank you.
I didn't finish listening to man speaking. Just rubbish.
Very good political overview of where we are at right now. Spot on. Most awful thing is that little can be done, but we can pray. It’s seems like a judgement on us.
