This is interesting! I've never heard of IXL. We tried Night Zookeeper with the free trial and literally used the entire week back and forth with customer service in which we never got passed the log in portion. I'm happy I didn't just dive in and pay for it especially since I never got it to where we could actually use it. It was such a shame because I think the kiddos would have really enjoyed it.
"October is the month that teaches us that change can be beautiful"- I'm so ready for October!! :) Let me know in the comments what has been working and not working this year for you!
Love this quote I use it every year! My video is coming out soon on this but just here to say it is not talked enough about the homeschool mom exhaustion! I only have one and it’s exhausting so I completely understand!
I just started watching but I started 4 day school and the 5th day is for extras. (Weekly readers, extra help in a subject, crafts, or unit studies). I am enjoying relaxing more on Fridays.
I understand your struggles adding a child in. I will be praying for you on that. I struggled for many weeks and after changing the routine too many times we got it. I know you got this too! Prayers ya'll way! Oh I edited to say I'm so glad to see you were able to get all your homeschool curriculum after giving yours away to bless that family. 🙂
Loved the video as always. It seems you’ve had a great year so far which is lovely! ❤ can’t wait to hear about the Biggest Story Curriculum & can’t wait to get your devotional.. sounds amazing
Yay for a great start! I can understand adding in another kiddo, it is hard at first to get in a flow. Great work!! It’s been a great first month for us as well, I have been dealing with a little attitude with my youngest, but that’s all part of the learning process too. Hoping for a beautiful October! ❤🎉🎉
great video! We have been reading The Wild Robot as well! We are almost done. We started before we knew there was a movie. Did you know there are two more books? The Wild Robot escapes and the Wild Robot Protects. I did not know this until we were at Costco a couple weeks ago lol. My children love this series. Can't wait to watch the movie! Also, History can be so fun! I don't use any curriculum for History or science. For History we spin the globe and where we land is where we "fly" to. Then we learn as much as they want about that country. That is when I can incorporate So much History. We "travel" from state to state in our country as well. it is so much fun! Books, games and videos work great! I made passports and I got stamps off Amazon. you can dive into culture, landmarks, language....it's really endless. You are so creative I bet you could do that as well :)
I love that and used to do that with history all the time... I might start again as you have inspired me! And yes, love that the wild robot has a series.. we definitely will be continuing reading after the first book! ❤️🎉
We read the wild robot earlier this year and had no idea it ended as a cliffhanger. My daughter (6) balled her eyes out. So we read the other 2. Then we watched it in theaters 🤣🤣 girl lost it crying so hard at the end. My husband didn't understand but I think she was remembering how the book ended and didn't care how the movie ended. While we were driving home she said she didn't want to read or watch the wild robot ever again. My boys loved it though
Reverse record keeping has always been what worked for us 😄 We are 6 weeks in and already having to change our flow. We school in blocks due to our current season of life right now and chanhed the order in which we do our subjects. We get the heavier subjects out of the way in our first block when our mimds are sharper 😂 and the funner things in the 2nd block.
Our month has been good. We took this week off for a break and got ready and celebrated my daughter's 4th birthday. TGATB is going well, and my son seems to be liking it. He does say math is too easy. He's in kindergarten. My daughter likes preschool. We will start back up Monday and go for 5 or 6 weeks before taking a break again.
Amazing! Happy birthday to your daughter! My daughter had a birthday this month too and turned 4 as well! I love how flexible we can be with our schedule when we homeschool ❤️
We want to see The Wild Robot, too. We finished the book back in March or April, and when they see the previews, they remember Roz and Brightbill. We are working on The Wild Robot Escapes. We really like it too.
I struggle with 3 kids too. So i hope you find this comforting. Tgatb has been a blessing so far but its still hard even having graduated 2 (the 3 to teach part) I find its grading my oldest (7 th) because i have to grade and then regrade when she fixes. So ts just a LOT of grading on top of grading and teaching. The 2 younger i grade right away Non homeschool question" how much snow do you get there? Hubby and i just went to Banff. Your country just has some absolutely gorgeous places 😍. Im a new watcher and i am really looking forward to seeing your new home when its completed. And soo enjoy watching everything so far. Thanks!
Aww, thank you!! 😊 I've never been to BC, but my sister moved there about 2 years ago, and I hope to visit. It sure is beautiful there! We'll probably get about 50 inches of snow this winter now that we moved up north 🥶 kids are excited for the snow.... me? Not so much 🤣
My 1st grader has been struggling with phonics. We are still on level K TGTB. I got her a learn by sticker phonics book for less than $10 on Amazon and she’s been loving it and having so much fun! So she is doing Level K Mon-Wed and the sticker book on Thursday as a fun way to end our week. We are doing Spanish from Homeschool Languages and loving it! My kids play The Floor is Lava, Homeschool Languages style ALL the time lol! My middle child has also been saying Hola! to everyone we meet or pass by in the store 😂
We are letting most of our TGTB go this year. Honestly, it was hard for me, but it just wasn't working anymore. Especially for my oldest. We started last when we dropped LA 4 and switched to EIW. We started the school year with Math 5 but are now switching as well. It's just too much and was causing too many tears and hate for math. We switched to Masterbook for math, which is a little too simple coming from TGTB, but it's been a break my kid needed. I really wish I could find something between the two for a perfect Math curriculum.
Your son might really enjoy the apps “stack the states” and “stack the countries”!! My son learned almost all the countries of the world and the U.S. states that way! 😊
@@lifewithginabyou’re welcome! And if he enjoys that, he might also enjoy the DK book called “complete flags of the world”! It’s so fun to discover what sparks their interest and lights them up!

Great plan! I like doing the same... hard things first... because it takes more brain power lol
