I still average a book/short story everyday as well (finished Primal Fear by William Diehl today. Starting the Princess Bride now). Nothing compares to the Harry Potter series for me. 📚

Stalling Jack the Ripper is actually a historical fiction mystery about a fictional character being put in the setting of the ripper murders! It was a 5 star for me and I’m currently reading the second!
I felt the exact same about assistant to the villain! I loved it so much, it was such a good, funny, and cozy fantasy! after I read it I was struggling to find something in the same vein because that’s all I wanted to read. I went on reddit to try and find similar books, and it recommended a book called between by LL Starling, and I have to say if you enjoyed assistant to the villain you would loooove Between!! it is easily top 5 books of my year, it’s so good and set in October so perfect for fall! would HIGHLY recommend :’)
Building on the message from Katherine Henry that you cannot always choose your circumstances but you can "move towards things that you know should produce joy" is Victor Frankle's book "Man's Search for Meaning" which are reflections from his time in a WWII concentration camp where we can't really move towards things that should produce joy (has he has little to no autonomy of what he does) but her can exercise the truth he discovers, which is: "“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”" Great video and love the conversations that can come from it for any book lover!
If you really want some good Fantasy. I highly recommend The Sword of Kaigen, The poppy war trilogy and Prince of thorns trilogy. They are all darker and more brutal than romantasy and general fantasy.

I found your videos earlier this year, with no interest in books at all, but something about the way you desribed books just made them seem satisfying. I frequent to Universal and love the Harry Potter land, but I didn't know more than a few names and few popular moments. My inspiration to start reading just began with Harry Potter, something I already absorbed myself in a lot physically, so the interest was already there.... The series is amazing!!
