    Yellow is a difficult color to get right. Those railings look sharp and realistic.

    For the load arms you can research fuel color codes. You did a good job on the fuel loading stations. To add more realism, white/black bands on UNL. Red for Super. Yellow/Green for Diesel. The bands go on the truck load arms. Looks good

    Hi just want to provide some idea to help your refinery are a look more prototypical. 1. make sure you have diking around all the the storage tanks. 2: The truck load area would not have its own tanks as they would be piped from the main storage tanks. 3: have no trees and only short grass around the site. and finally 4: give all the tanks some kind of tank number on the sides and what is in the tank.

    • @nscaler454
      @nscaler454  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tips. I plan to put a berm around the storage tanks, though it will be only semi realistic since the pipes are there. I considered putting some numbers on the tanks, I have the decals, but didn't want them to stick out like a sore thumb since they are already weathered.

    • @toejah
      @toejah ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nscaler454 I used to work at a tank farm and having a nice clean area around tank numbers because they had been repainted is normal and the piping can be run through the side of the diking.

    Wow, that refinery section is looking amazing. Great work on design and build of those transfer facilities. I love how you aren't afraid to show your uncertainties or mistakes on the video and how you correct whatever you're not happy with. Great work, videos like this one will keep me watching! 👍🏻👍🏻

    Lovely layout. Don't forget that, due to the high fire risk, there will need to be fire brigade access routes at all areas as well as plenty of fire hydrants.

    A 2nd set of wires down the same tube? Stretch a section of shrink tubing with the wires in it, paint it & secure it to the 1st post. You will be adding individual pieces in real life why not on the layout? Add some uniqueness to your layout.

    Looking great! Love the pipe work and those custom supports. It ties the whole area together for sure.
    Bravo on the truck loading facility as well. That definitely fills out that space nicely. With the other space you’re wanting to fill, I think some scenery in that space would totally transform and not necessarily need to be filled with a structure. If you do decide to go with a structure of some sort, maybe a vertical element like a water tower or even a cell phone tower or some sort of antenna would be sweet.

    • @nscaler454
      @nscaler454  ปีที่แล้ว

      I never even considered a cell phone tower. A water tower might be fitting. I wonder if it would work with the surrounding structures.

    I have loaded trucks at many different refineries in Alberta and would love to have had a roof over my head at any of them. I do love the design of your facility and think it compresses all of the items seen at a refinery into a nice neat package. About the only thing I did not see is an administration building that you could fit into one of the open spaces you have left as a suggestion. I wish I had your skill in modeling.

    G’day Mate looks bloody awesome!!!!! One thing I would add is the spillage dam around the larger tanks. Dunno about the US, but in Australia our EPA regulations require refineries and tank farms to have spillage dams surrounding the tanks. They’re normally rectangular (could also be square) and stand around 20 feet (almost 5 meters) off the tanks, and are about 8 feet in height off the ground. A nice touch would be some fire fighting and spillage equipment. BUT having put my dollars worth of comment in, Awesome Job. Are the 3d models you created available for sale? I’d love to have them on my tank farm.

      Thanks. I would love to go into production for some things. Some things I would be willing to print/sell for people. The truck fuel center could possibly work. The train loading facility wouldn't as it was so heavily customized, and too many pieces.

    Nicely done on the truck loading rack! You made it a 'dual use' top loading AND bottom loading...Hmmm, think that would be a first that I know of from my 16 years of fuel hauling, but very cool! Any plans on making the print files for the truck loading rack available?

    • @nscaler454
