My incense favourites are The original YSL Opium from the 70’s, Guerlain Shalimar, and The original Calvin Klein Obsession. I have not found any new incense fragrances yet to add to my beloved oldies. Still on the lookout.
OMG, Arlene, I have the same childhood growing up going to church in the Philippines and I associate the note of incense in the same way. It's a nostalgic, comfort scent and do have a small arsenal of incense frags in my collection, too. I love Ivory Route and this is the perfect time to wear it as this the time of year is when I smell incense the most (lenten season). I love Jo Malone's myrrh and Tonka too for the church-y feels.
I love Ivory Route too, I find it unique and impossible to find a dupe for. Do you find it performs better in hot weather when you're outdoors of a late evening? I think it's a humid, spicy, verdant green jungle of a scent rather than a sandalwoody cashmere sweater of a scent. I'd never wear Ivory Route indoors in winter-- I'd make everyone nauseous I fear. The Japanese sensibility has seeped into my bones and I hate the idea of obnoxiously shoving my smell and my choices up stranger's noses, ha! 😇
I have a small vial of Incense Oud but I prefer Kilian's Sacred Wood. I haven't tried Xerjoff or D&G's yet. My personal favourite incense/sandalwood is still Diptyque Tam Dao EDP.
Thank you for the great video! :-) Have you tried any middle eastern Bakhoor or Attars (perfume oil)? Incense originated from the middle east... if you haven't already checked these out, highly recommended.
I like Amouage Interlude Man, L'Artisan Dzongkha and Séville à l'aube, Annick Goutal Encens Flamboyant, and UNUM LAVS off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more.
You should really check issey miyake or incense (it's from their oriental collection). Where marc (robes08) smelled it for the first and i saw his reaction ... i had to get a bottle of asap and i love it! People around me also love it! You should check the comme des garcons incense series - i really want to try their kyoto one! Regards from germany :)

Try Joop Femme. I find it more incense-like than Obsession.
