My favorite of this type is Jubilation XXV. It has that richness of myrrh, opoponax, labdanum, and olibanum, along with the sweetness of blackberry and honey. Freaking masterpiece.
I actually just got a sample of and Encens Suave, and I'm really liking it! I don't know if I would get a full bottle, but really enjoying the scent profile. It's not too harsh, or something that you couldn't wear based on it being so specific.
It's a pity that the Merchant of Venice didn't get the impact/recognition when they launched Mystic incense in 2018. They created an incense vanilla combo before Matière premiere or Laboratorio olfattivo but nobody talked about it. I guess it is because it was not as "beast mode" compared to the others...
Incense has always been a warm note to me, maybe because I've never been in an incense burning church, I like incense in the coldest of days, so warm and cozy! I'd like to get some from this list for sure.
The incense that I have is Bois d'Encens from Armani/Prive. Nothing sweet here, it's as incense as you can get. I understand you Seb when you say incense is cold, it's like touching a cold slab of marble much like the interior of a church. I layer or mix this sometimes with vanillas from La Maison de la Vanille.
Pine smell can be smelled in fragrances if it contains real franckimcense essencial mainly Boswellia Sacra(especialy Royal grade) and Boswellia Serrata, they contain a lot of alpha pinine so they smell like pine
Lucid dreams from Ex-Idolo is one of my favourite incense perfume, its warm and velvety, sweetened by osmanthus and davana, patchouli in the drydown! Also quite like Holy Stick from Chapelfactory, it 's done with elemi, benzoin and amber notes
La Liturgie des Heures from Jovoy is my favorite simply because of one note: Myrrh, which may very well be my second or third favorite fragrance note overall.
Gosh - I think I need this! Another freaking myrrh masterpiece is Imperial Oppoponax by Les Néréides- it's discontinued t available on Ebay sometimes. I bought myself a back up..
Aqua Flor's Ambra by Sileno Cheloni is the optimum of this scent combination. very long lasting and you will be the only one wearing it. my favorite, Magnificent.
@@ThePerfumeGuy after 4 sprays the Vivaldi concerto begins, after closing my eyes i awake in the Pitti Palace and discover myself in a golden silk and bejeweled bed with 50 people staring at me from the gallery awaiting my morning toilet ritual. I knew then i was chosen of God to be King and Emperor of the whole world with this scent. 🙂
I love the idea of sweet incense, but haven't tried many. From this list, only Vanagloria. I really wanted to like that one, but something about the base struck me as really screechy, same with Akro fragrances. I love Comme des Garcons Jaisalamer (warm, spicy, but not sweet) and Kyoto (cool, meditative, clean and almost green). Looking forward to sampling some of these!
You have me so interested in BABYCAT I have my husbands friend running all over Paris looking for it for me. Hopefully he comes back with it when he visits for Christmas! I feel like I NEED it after all of your descriptions it seems like exactly what I’ve been looking for! Love your videos.
I love incense so much, it's one of my favorite notes (the real frankincense is anyway - myrrh and other "incenses" are good but nothing beats frankincense in my opinion). Like you, I do like it with warmer notes, but I still really enjoy the cooler ones. Tauer's Incense Rose and Incense Extreme are two of my top faves. CDG Avignon is good too, and I like Jalsaimer as well. Of the ones you talked about, I really want to try Fille En Aiguilles. I haven't had the chance yet and I hear its amazing.
I must love "sweet incense" fragrances the best, because I love a lot of these. I do love Babycat, though I don't usually go for super-hyped fragrances. I need to try Reve d'Ossian. I'm always looking for pine fragrances that don't smell like traditional babershop. I always look forward to your holiday recs.
I really like the bottle design of Oman Luxury Royal Incence, and that ones from the Serge Lutens Gratte Ciel collection, woow!!! I'm not very familiar with these scents and the note of incence, need to explore them more. Royal Tobacco is in my list but after learning that tobacco is not the most prominent note, it can wait until a get a better deal on it. Thanks for the video Sebastian!!!
Thank you; I do not have any of these and all sound wonderful. Where to begin: Maybe Oriza L. Legrand Reve D'Ossian with the pine note and such a pretty bottle too, but then there is Vanagloria and Fille En Aiguilles...
Serge Lutens is absolutely best of all times! Unfortunately these new edition are ALWAYS a hint of an original releases. The power and the nuances of the smell just isn't the same as they were on earlier releases.
Hmmmm, I'll have to check out Reve d'Ossian. 🧐 Can't remember ever trying Tiger's Nest either. One of a few that I haven't sampled from Memo. Some goodies in this one Sebastian! 🔥
Finally got Guerlain Shalimar Millésime Tonka. Babycat you're next! I didn't think I liked incense until getting a sample of Byredo Reine de Nuit. Need to try others from your list.
🤤 Vanagloria is awesome. Had the chance to smell babycat some days ago and they really smell the same. Not sweet but i also really like the Incense scents from Heeley. looking forward to buy the 3x15ml set at least. Especially the green incense Eau Sacre is awesome and reminds me of Bois Mystique.
Sebastian! What an Amazing idea for a list!! 🙌🙌❤️ A lot of great fragrances on this list! 😀 I’m going to show this video to my high school Fragrance Club! 🙏❤️🙏❤️
check out broken theories from kerosene. it might not get as sweet as you want, but it's got a nice tobacco/spice/vanilla thing to go with a very, very pronounced incense note
I'm fond of how Profum Roma utilizes incense. In that it's a nice subtle complimentary player. I've yet to come across a incense forward fragrance that moves me and the genre just doesn't peak my interest.
Well done Sir. I have a question regarding Sweet Incense. Can you please differentiate between Encens Sauve & Kilian Intoxicated? As i found very similar for my nose. Your expert opinion is required since i'm planning to get my hands on Encens Sauve. But I already have "Inoxicated" in my collection. Please comment. Thanks
@@ThePerfumeGuy I know they have so many but I really love Xerjoff so I try to sample all I haven't tried yet 😊 I recently got a sample of Ouverture and I definitely want a full bottle! Hope you like it too 😊
I totally agree with you, Sebastian. And I feel that I’m able to understand your approach to incense, since my childhood memories also relate to Christian Orthodox Church and their incense. Speaking of which, how do you feel about: l’Air du Desert Marocain from Andy Tauer, Red Tobacco from Mancera, or Interlude Black Iris Man by Amouage? 🤓
right now I'm really digging the honey and incense combo of Royal Incense followed by Babycat/Vanagloria but then again Serge Fille is an all time favorite. Caftan is also quite good but in that order! :)
So your list is pretty thorough as far as I know but I recommend you try Indochine by Pierre Guillaume (benzoin bomb) and Imperial Oppoponax by Les Néréides- a gorgeous myrrh fragrance, of which I bought a back up:-) Does Babycat smell like Encens Suave? I also kept wondering if it smelled like Vanagloria since I don't have either but I do have ES..
It's not as sweet to me. It's the white flower slash incense combo. Thought about putting it in but more cold to me but that's just me!! But I thought about it. And I also have the Nars the same perfumer created very similar but still not warm enough but again just my opinion! :)
I was lucky enough to get a bottle of Babycat, I get no leather, spices, or incense in it. Just pure vanilla extract. It's pleasant though, but based on my experience the descriptions I've read online aren't accurate.

Perhaps Babycat or Vanagloria but they are quite different but similar style. What I would do is enhance it with Molecule 04 which is sandalwood based. Spray it on let it dry then spray This Is Him on it. I haven't tried but it could work otherwise I don't know what else to recommend! :)

How unisex would you call this? This sounds up my alley..
Jubilation XXV is an example how perfume of king or sultan..
@@penelopepalm I hope that you get to try it.
So happy you mentioned Larmes Du Desert. Amazing fragrance that does not get much attention! ❤
It really is!
I'm very interested in Vanagloria. I like the fact that it's a bit gourmand and less dry than BabyCat. I'm wearing By the Fireplace this fall a lot. 😍
It’s gorgeous, reminds me of Rosendo Mateu no 5 with a touch of lune feline added
I have 5 on this list (which makes me want all your mentioned 😅) my fav is Encens Suave - on my 2nd bottle ❤
Second bottle wowo
Trying to get one also for 260 seems high
Great list and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try these fragrances and have a blessed day

I believe that I will try out a few of these suggestions when the winter starts to transition to spring.
Orto Parisi “Terroni” . It’s smokey but it also has that “sweet” incense
I bought Teroni and smelled like a barnyard. Sent back for a refund.
La Liturgie des Heures from Jovoy is my favorite simply because of one note: Myrrh, which may very well be my second or third favorite fragrance note overall.

I agree it's a bit challenging to wear on it's own. Once it's sweetened up it's quite nice and perfect in cold weather !:)
I love Quarzazate from CdG's Incense line. It is slightly sweet, warm and peppery 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
