    Do you ever worry about scammers using your face/avatar to scam your loved ones by posing as you in a video call?

    • @TheoreticallyMedia
      @TheoreticallyMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally, I don't...but, it is going to happen. I mean, the boomer generation is getting scammed by robocalls, or the "your bank account has been compromised, let me VPN into your computer"-- not all of them, of course. But a number of them.
      That's just going to be magnified to a massive amount when there is video of a trusted person. My personal take: train people now, if they ever see a strange request video from you, ask questions that you would only know the answer to.

    • @TheoreticallyMedia
      @TheoreticallyMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Makes sense. That's the other thing about AI Avatars,: Everyone will have perfect teeth, which is almost...jarring? I understand it from an animation standpoint, but you're right, that'll be a tough hill to overcome. And one that might turn into a "tell" for AI Avatars.

    The thing most people don't understand is that the Ai Gpu from Nvidia that will allow AI to run 400 times better will be coming in 6 months to a year so everything right now is really running on non-laced as in non-AI created as priority CPUs and GPUs once those Nvidia chips get activated in about 6 months to a year we're going to truly see everything change everything we're watching now is really just the first wheel made of stone just imagine what happens when AI is updated 400 times faster

    • @TheoreticallyMedia
      @TheoreticallyMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, I don't like to ring the AGI bell. I think a LOT of people rang it too early. And I'm not even ringing it yet...but, I'm starting to look around the house to see where I stuffed that stupid bell, because I feel like I'm going to need it in the near future.

    • @holdthetruthhostage
      @holdthetruthhostage ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheoreticallyMedia haha well I mean it's coming but even with AGI I think one thing open AI has done and you know we both you know I've used a lot of them I've used from open source AI to you know chat GPT I've used the playground AI I've used Claude you know they're not as extremely sophisticated as people like to think
      You know they're not going to be able to do everything in a human way because one thing I've done is someone who's used AI as an author is that I've seen that AI is not capable of writing or understanding the risk to human life you know it's not aware of that context and even with a GI yes it will be useful I mean that's what I'm waiting for I'm waiting for when I could just utilize AI on software for example have AI autopilot software such as unreal 5 engine you know unity engine and film software
      Because the true advantage of AI that's going to revolutionize everything and it's the revolution that I think software engineers have been praying for is that AGI or multimodal AI will eliminate the learning curve as in software engineers no longer have to basically limit the ability of their software for fear that the people they're selling it to won't be able to use it so now they can truly create software without a limitation so long as they build AI access points into it where the AI upon you just requesting what you need done will do it
      I mean just imagine my friend You're talking to final cut pro some video editing software and you just say you know what I need this scene with a zoom in a zoom out at a blur and a fade and make sure the background is not as visible and very blurry and it's done it's done That's what AI is going to allow us to do and when that comes you will see human creativity unlocked completely because the people developing the software are no longer limited and the people who purchase the software no longer have to worry about a learning curve
      That's what I'm waiting for I'm not waiting for the whole or AI will just be smarter and be able to do everything better than us people That's not as useful to think about because everything being made some things we won't be able to have a I do because it won't be able to understand the intent or the culture behind said tools or activity but when it comes to software that's where AI will free mankind

    Cool, sure, but takes weeks (literally) to process a video without paying first. You get 2 credits to make a video for free, but afterwards...it says you need to pay to "skip the line" for processing, or what for your videos turn to be processed...I did a video today (12/9/22 @ 1933) and this is the amount of videos to be processed before mine (25739+ videos processing now)
    today (13/9/22), the line has grown to (114,543+ videos processing now). So, essentially, even on a demo or free version with the 2 credits they give you, its forcing you to pay

    ON SITE REPLICATION MEMORY: Imagine that all the ghosts, apparitions, specters, spaceships, and other phenomena that people report but have never truly managed to capture on camera are remnants of the technology of an ancient civilization that had this type of device to replay memories at the location where they occurred. However, it was so advanced that they didn't need a physical device to see them. And that technology might still be operational, as it was based on self-sustaining nanostructures 😲😲😲😲

      As mobile took off, I was like “oh, he didn’t quite get it right, but pretty close!”

  • @joemarklin
    @joemarklin ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does this scare you as a creator? I am thinking about starting a TH-cam channel but don't even know if I should at this point because these bots will be able to make videos by the thousands and I don't think people will care that they are bots as long as they pass as human

    • @TheoreticallyMedia
      @TheoreticallyMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eh, not too much to be honest. The video avatars are currently not great (but getting better), but ultimately I think there will be “tells” that give away an AI Avatar that most people will be able to see. Or at least unconsciously pick up on.
      There is sure to be a massive flood of these videos coming, but there’s always a flood of lower effort content. Remember “this but as a Dark 80s fantasy?”
      That said, I do recommend starting your channel now. Just kick it off and start building an audience. So at least when the bots arrive, you’ll have a group of people you’ve already made a connection with.
      Man, now I’m just thinking about the niche of “react” videos that can come out of this. “Human reacts to AI video.” Then “Ai reacts to Human video” and on and on it will go…

      So, I totally agree with you. I think at some point there will be an AI Avatar that scans your movements and records those patterns as well. We all have unique mannerisms, and that will be important to catch. A good way of looking at it is the "Translation" section. I mean, there is an AI element there (the lip movement, and obviously the translation) but the "character" movement is legit, because it's obviously a real person.
      The Joshua AI Avatar is amazing, but it has a bit to go.

    If it's trained on public speaking data then that would explain the increased blink rate

    • @TheoreticallyMedia
      @TheoreticallyMedia  ปีที่แล้ว

      I could see that. I still say the v.2 version of this will have the blinking sorted out. It sort of seems like an easy fix-- but I'm also not an AI Programmer, so maybe that is harder than I think it is?
      I hate to be the guy who doesn't do "the thing" who says "That's easy right?"
      As the photo/video guy in my circle, I don't know how many times I get asked: "You can fix this photo, right? It's easy!" By easy, you mean about 4 hours of work in Photoshop? Haha

    So, how can I get the News I'm interested in, read by an AI that is NOT a representation of a real person? I just want honest, unbiased news, without the baggage of News Anchor "Personality." It's good if the AI doesn't look exactly human, and is not an attempt to fool me that it is a real person.

      Someone said they tried it out with a Midjourney image and it wasn't so hot. I personally haven't seen it yet--- but , like all things tech: It'll start expensive and a bit janky, but with time, it'll be cheap and flawless.
      Probably sooner than we think, as well.

    I've played around with this to report news on AI on "X Twitter" platform. I used an already trained avatar from Heygen and it came out AMAZING and another video with an image from Midjourney which also came out amazing but obviously not as good as the trained avatar. Great Stuff!

      Is that with the new model? I can’t wait to play with it! I think you’ve confirmed something that I’ve suspected: real people are just going to work better with this tech than AI generated ones. There’s just something about AI to AI that kind of creates an un-reality field.
