Dwayne was born 52 years ago today. I'm glad there are gems like this to remember what a musical wizard he was. I would love to hear the aDuck stuff you have in the vault, cEvin.
@SeeleSchrie7 man, there´s some unreleased at the time stuff in there by Tear Garden which is probably my favourite song they´ve ever came up with ... and there´s many , excellent compilation cd , must be here . if not I´ll upload that for you . With Dwayne there´s some pretty interesting stuff too , aDuck and other songs by Subconscious stuff he participated . Good stuff !
Yeah! I knew he was classically trained, but seeing his ability to finger notes in some parts shows that he can absolutely jam! CEV is probably great too, but I don't think as trained classically or as much chops. I used to think some intricate parts in skinny puppy or Doubting Thomas were samples, but it's super likely that they played it. I think Cev wrote that he was the one that did the piano for Father Don't Cry though. He said something like "something was going through me...like channelling so ething around me..." Or maybe I'm thinking of the piano cev played on Killing Game. I know Dwayne was like super ahead of the game with sampling. He'd play stuff and Cev would show him how to mess it up in the right ways :)
i was born in 77 and he died wen i was still young; now after my first stroke i lost everything... now i mourn such a loss. skinny puppy's download song was mostly his; RIP Dwayne duck
Oh, wow. This gives me real nostalgia, like the pain from the realization of the rapid passage of time. When I started listening to your stuff, cEvin, I really felt like I got in late, it was a year or two after Dwayne had passed; I was in HS. Watching this jam... shit, youse are all younger here than I am now, and it was around when I discovered your work. I have a photo of me at 16 wearing the same SP shirt Dwayne's wearing here. I wore it until it was no longer a functioning piece of wardrobe. I met you once at a LPD show little over a decade ago, and I ended up being a complete goof in a Zankou shirt who annoyed you probably. I just picked up a Voicetail from Analogue Haven yesterday, and you came up in conversation with the staff there, and was loads of well-wishing. It's weird to say to a stranger that you've had a developmental impact in my life, but there you go. Anyway, all this to say, I really hope you're well.
This is some good stuff really. You never know with these types of band but it's easy to tell that Dwayne could in a technical aspect really play aswell and wasn't limited to just producing music.
This is great!!!!! Its great to see Dwayne do some serious riffing! On a Kurzweil K2000 yet (one of which im waiting for to get back from being fixed in the shop) Can't wait to see more of this kinda footage! keep it coming kev!
Nice to see this footage of you all messing about having fun ... very sad about Dwayne and for all you who knew him. BTW fwiw he looks like he could be my brother!
i used to have that same shirt.... but i don't know what happened to it now. My little brother probably stole it... he was wearing all my kmfdm shirts and nin shirts... now they're all gone. same with my cds.... he'd always steal my cd's and give em to his friends so they can play it in their car. I remember because one day my cousin showed up at home and he opened the passenger door for me to get in and i seen like 3 KMFDM albums an NIN album and i think Numb and VAC.... I was like, whoa.... you don't listen to this kinda music. Because i knew for a fact he was into lil' wayne and dmx.He looks at me and says your brother brought them along for our road trip. i'm like wtf.... he didn't even ask me. So yeah that shirt is probably long gone now... He was always jackin' my shit.... cloths, cds... wish i still had it though...it was a cool shirt. the baby fetus and upside down was like some kind of abortion or deviated fetus.
that's a pretty serious studio, especially for '94 when all that gear was a bit more expensive, except for maybe the pro one which might be more today since the new found interest in analog gear. That K2000 was like brand new kit then...I think Skinny puppy would have taken a whole different direction if he never died. Check out his project as aDuck:Quackerz and Power experimental in (a good way) even for Skinny Puppy IMO...
1995 i was in i might have been up in fort st john or i was in victoria .... nice effecvt in between , remingds mwe of ol' jqams with scatter timn"s 4:27pm 7/1/2018 ...
the skat stuff reminds me of some of the stuff controlled bleeding was doing around this time, yeah I know tear garden also dabbled with it on sheila liked the rodeo
this was Subcon studios which was located on the 8th floor of the Seymour Building in Vancouver. A very unique setting that we finished the Process LP at, as well as Download's Furnace before Dwayne's passing in Aug 95. The studio stayed active until Feb 1998.
It's cool that he is wearing the same SP tshirt that I used to have. I wish I knew what happened to it. I think my wife didn't like it and threw it away.
On one hand, heroin took D. from us. On the other, he left a legacy of music that probably would not have been made without it. I'd rather die of an overdose knowing I left a great anthology than live to a demented old age of mediocrity. And for the prudish...if you think that SP would have been the same without drugs, you have no idea what you are talking about. That's why they did them. It's just that Ogre and Cevin knew when to say "OK FUCK IT, WE'RE OUT." Do drugs. For a little while. Then stop. Anyway, RIP D.R. .... you are sorely missed, but the music lives.
That was "intensely, extremely, terribly uncomfortable" to watch (and listen to). Someone should have intervened early on and perhaps Dwayne would still be with us today.
actually I was the more the movie sample guy. we had already began w this philosophy so it just continued until Last Rights when they finally beefed about a Timothy Leary sample on Left Hand Shake. thus its omission, and the beginning of no more movie sample era.
no shit is this MR. Key? love your work never seen you live last show I watched in the industrial scene was in Bogarts Cinci Ohio with pigFace not breathing and bagman special performance by FM Einheit shitty about movie samples so a recording artist cant splice them anymore into the beats
I love how happy he was with the pitch shifter. He seemed like a fun stoner dude. Gone far too soon. We miss you Dwayne.
*mod wheel* but yeas
F u c k herion
proof, it's not what you have, but how you use what you have. bravo.

Have you listened to the songs off " paradigm shift " , the subconscious compilation cd ? I own it, if it´s not available I can upload that for you .

every few years I like to come back & watch & it makes me smile
Dwayne's right hand had more talent than most can contain in their entire bodies.

I could watch Dwayne jam all day. Thank you for posting!
Nothing got done that day. Also, the sounds remind me of Guitar Center.
Breaking out the jazz-industrial.
I don't think a human can be any more awesome than this.

Was the k2000 better than the k2600? For some reason I've seen the 2600 around more.
Such a beautiful, talented soul this duck was
MORE PLEASE!!
...and from this came Too Dark Park - one of the greatest albums of the 20th Century.

rarest of the rare! Thank you.
Scenes like this make me hate living in an apartment. Art never sleeps.
Just such an amazing talent. Love ya, D
This should be in the Library of Congress
Sad to see great talent go to waste.

Is there any record at all (audio or visual) of Dwayne's Water project? I'm quite curious.

What's in the center of the studio, k2500?
Close! It's the k2000 v3, with the built in floppy drive!
Who’s playing bass on the first half?
is that cEvin on drums?
yes, up until like 1:46 He was/is originally a drummer. In Images In Vogue he played drums and he played drums on one of ohGrs first tours...
I know about his drumming in IIV and ohGr, I just wasn't sure;)
In the very beginning, after that, he's working the camera and blowing smoke @ 1:48
@@thiskris1420 also the Scat singing !
Am I the only one who thinks the guy in the blue jacket looks like Tom Ellard?
