I just found out about Dwayne and aDuck today and it's so tragic he went so soon. This man would've revolutionized electronic music since 95 with the explosion of processing power and DAWs. So sad, RIP Master Dwayne, your spirit will forever live on
miss this guy, Dwayne you were such an innovative and ground breaking artist in the ways sampling was done. your legacy will continue to live on and be emulated the best they can but will never amount to your abilities. and thanks for enlightening my many years of listening pleasure form anything you were involved in. RIP
Fuck yeah. 30+ years later I find out a track I've been listening to all this time is Dwayne's. I'm not sure what CD I used to have this on, but I remember this track vividly. This guy and his friends are responsible for my whole life trajectory. You went too soon, Dwayne.
From listening to this it is obvious that Goettel was the talent/direction in Doubting Thomas. The album "the Infidel" was an amazing work of art. I am sorry that we could not see Dwayne R. Goettel progress in the undoubtedly interesting path this artist would have taken. I loved early Skinny Puppy and after Goettel's death the hope of the Doubting Thomas direction I would have liked SP to go in was lost IMO. cEvin Key is indeed talented but much was lost with Goettel gone.......
The Infidel is a masterpiece! Love it. And yeah, you can kind of tell what Dwayne did. Surprisingly though the piano in Father Dont Cry is Cevin, but listening to it Im not sure if its kinda played in a live sorta way. I could be wrong, but Cev said it was him. I havent heard this song in maybe 10+ years. Its insanely great!!! I didnt realize it was ONLY Dwayne until now. For some reason I thought it was Dwayne and Phil, but they just split the 12"..wow.
i'm only guessing here, but i -think- dwayne was the source of the incredible noise of the original 'download' track, plus thinking of the crazy inclusion of the sound samples from 'the abyss' on 'last rites'. cevin, phil, no doubt(ing thomases ;) are geniuses in their own right... but, so much incredible psychedelic noise-music was lost, when dwayne went away. rip, friend... all of us who love what sounds you made, surely wish you were still here and playing, if only to just let us hear what crazy sounds you'd come up with. p.s. phil was an early collab with dwayne on this aDuck shtuff, and everything he works with has a wonderfully similar sound/treatment, so don't miss out on his discography! 'longform' is something i've left on my yt in the background a lot lately; very soothing ambient-ish shtuff to listen to. p.p.s. i also can't more highly recommend listening to cevin's solo projects, 'music for cats', 'ghost of each room', 'dragon experience' with ken marshall... s'all good stuff. :)

do you also konw about Phil Western? Another great electronic musician and amazing human to know!
2020, Dwayne’s spirit lives on in etched recordings.
I know cEvin has most of his samples but to bust out Dwayne's Emulator and dust off those floppies would be epic for a new release from SP.
So many of us junkies survived and got clean.. I can't help but wonder why not aDuck.. quite sad..
Young
Too bad Dwayne didn't live long enough to produce more solo material, I like this track and the other track he did that's on the Paradigm Shift CD.
I can't even imagine what he could have done with music in Ableton live
Exactly
Still sounds like the future.
We miss you Dwayne, hope you’re looking down on us from some sort of heaven playing tunes in outer space
You're awesome!
the world will never forget you dwayne
so many great people gone; may reality enshrine them in eternity. reality witout dwayne is incomplete it feels, RIP

I think I first listened to it on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradigm_Shift_(album)
@@devonmcdormand6267 That's the one. I think I still have it in my basement somewhere.
immortal classic, cool Dwayne photo. Is he wearing a shirt with one of my paystubs on it?
he's my hero
