My grandpa had a vinyl player, which I loved to play around with as a kid. He had some real classy vinyls but I was more interested in the vinyls with fairy tales on them, they were much more fun than Mozart for example :P I can't recall which vinyls I listened to as a kid, but I can remember the crackling sound the vinyls made, I loved these as a kid aswell. Sadly when he passed away someone else took the vinyl player and all the vinyls with them.

I remember years prior to sampling and samplers becoming popular, I used to do it with a cassette machine and the results were just as good at times, but some people would complain about the vinyl noise.I would tell them that the so called noise made it sound AUTHENTIC AND GAVE IT CHARACTER, but what did I know now look they are sampling the same noise.
