So sad that such incredible animals that have evolved so perfectly to thrive in some of the harshest environments without having to alter any aspect of their behaviour for millions of years are being so quickly eradicated by human beings. I have such a high level of respect for any one who can provide a safe environment for them, show people how amazing they are, and teach them about why they need to be protected.
At 44 i can appreciate the way th babies enclosure is at the perfect working height 😂. Such a cool set up, working smarter not harder
Love when you go out because no two homes are the same nor is two keep so to see different solutions to same problem gets creative juice flowing

I’m a big advocate of keeping lots of edible plants for my animals. It’s important to check to make sure none of the plants/flowers are toxic.

After watching you for a few years you can kinda tell when someone is a Turtle guy or girl. Something about the relax or chill attitude. He has such a cool setup with all the plants that the Turtles can eat. I would love to see some of your Turtle enclosures look like a jungle, it just looks so cool and inviting.

I love the Elongated tortoise as well and they deserve some attention. His tortoise area is a dream. I can only hope for 2-3 acres one day.
TortLife Ranch total is just shy of 5 acres total. We have a pond with a waterfall at the back of the property. Stay tuned to see how we transform that area for our turtle sanctuary!

Afterall Cannon he does his place the same as yours only has tortoises are smaller so he has the smaller areas but you do basically the same thing he does but you got the big ones they all Debra Hill sulcata and I think you got at least one or two Galapagos so you got the bigger areas bigger paddocks that's the only difference
He has a very nice set up for his tortoises. I like that he grows different plants to self feed as he put it.

The idea of cameras in the enclosures is really awesome, you can keep an eye on your animals. I love the little nursery he has that's so cool and looks so cozy!

I have some some Russians Ahsoka and a red foot and my Russians are so chain they run to the front of their pen on they see me passing by on they see me standing there cuz they want me to pick them and talk to them and so forth and probably feed them to

I love seeing other people's set ups and Ricks is so cool, also now and again i visit zoo's as a keeper for the day, just living the dream, I live in England where it is allot colder at time's, so i make sure my 57 tortoise's are warm/watered/ fed, and cared for, before I have my breakfast

Kenan, you might want to have a care with Mexican petunia. Super invasive. And not many leaves as a reward.
For Kate: I suggest things like bushes and vines where you can fence off the base of the plant and still have lots of flowers. Crepe mrytles are a good choice imo. They produce loads of flowers as well as shade. Best would be go to a local nursery and explain the problem. They can help you. and Kate will love it!

Hey, Kenan, great video, and it was nice to meet Rick and see his great habitats! Like you, I loved his plantings. Those Mexican petunias grow like crazy down here (though they're non-native), and you can easily find them at the big box stores. You can quickly add some of Rick's atmosphere to your tortoise areas with those, and Kate will enjoy it!

Phenomenal setup, I’m amazed how organized it is, yet still free-flowing and natural. You can definitely use some of his ideas at the Kamp. Beautiful animals and I love his names for his babies!

Fun visit. Love their plants. Very nice turtle sanctuary. I always learn something Kenan. Wish I could keep tortoises, but alas it’s too cold for outdoor enclosures. We birthed a wild nest of snappers from our veggie garden which was fun. We released them, about 20, in our creek area. It will be fun to see if we find any this spring. Hearty little buggers lol ❤❤

Pro tip. If you plant purple showers don’t ever expect to eradicate them in the future. At least from Jupiter to Miami.
Love seeing all the various enclosure ideas. Yours and the places you visit. It's definately given me ideas on new enclosures I will be building after relocating to eastern Texas. I especially love the different fencing ideas and heated hut ideas for colder temps. Keep up the amazing work guys. And Thank you so much for sharing.
