    Another situation of ” I never thought of that” video. Totally amazing 🤙🏼🍾
    I changed my SRP pedal setup to hanging brake and clutch and it immediately felt better. The pressure angle is a lot better than on standing pedals.

    The amount of years you have practiced is clear. I’m a firm believer of doing to learn. As I practice I learn and things like “brakes aren’t just for slowing the car down”, start to make sense. Not because I’ve studied, or researched but because practice allowed my brain to automatically make the connection. These videos are absolute gold for anyone that has the drive to be the best, so long as like you say, we apply what we hear. Thank you mate, glad I’ve found your channel!

      So we’ll said you n both of your post Buddy 🤛
      It is very hard to explain something to someone who doesn’t have felt it before!
      Wen somebody who is not related to race driving techniques I usually say ,is about the opposite of normal driving!
      Making the car faster beyond the usual normal driving is so complex and will be fully understandable wen you start experience those different forces and that can happen only with lot of practice!
      Thx for those beautiful posts mate 😃

    I actually never thought much about that. I'm usually a very smooth driver, I'm very conservative with tires and most racing games give me a lot of points for consistency, car control and safety because I'm very safe. I'm slow but consistent so I find I lose a lot of time, sometimes 1-2sec in the same spec cars, using the same braking points, most likely because I'm not that aggressive on the brake. I also never see people talk much about this, but some people are very lazy turning the wheel, they understeer a lot because they are not turning the wheel enough. Thanks for this, later today i'm going to test this out about the brakes

    It is also very important to fix your sitting position to not have any gap on your back with the seat for proper muscle and organ support. Especially in braking the lower back muscles and spleen take a shit ton of load forces so it is a bit dangerous too. When you brake you must feel the force load below hips zone and never on your knees.
    Some may think this is a joke but its not. Its serious and it can cause damage and besides that you do lose very precious time in the braking zones. So thats wrong things 😆
    Very nice and valuable information man. Not many people talk about this stuff and these are the most important ones.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You absolutely right with everything you’ve said buddy!
      We use to underestimate some very obvious thing but in racing 0.1sec is such great amount of time we must reconsider everything !

    I raced on a G29 for 6 years and hade some top times in timetrial and was generally quite fast.
    However after changing to simucube, simlab, sprints I did not really get faster. Sure sometimes more consistent but not faster.
    I had such a muscle memory for how much I had to push my pedals on the G29, with that said its probably easier to find that memory on my sprints.

  • @levi859
    @levi859 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I sucked when I got fanatec pedals for the first few months. One thing that really helped me was stiffening up the preload screw on the brake pedal because I found that I was breaking harder than the pro drivers did. So by stiffing the preload screw you're raising the zero percent pressure of the brake.

  • @ViktorJaneba
    @ViktorJaneba ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video (again!).
    Just one thing: that part with "lean the seat as much as your brackets allow" along with "pedals too low".
    These things are the same equation. I use rally position, and usually there is quite big drop between seat bottom rest and pedals - which is equalized with really upright backrest, so the angle stays the same. In real cars.

  • @marchinop7278
    @marchinop7278 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great tips as usual. Never associated body movements to late brakes and wondering how others can brake later than me and still stop the car. Also checked the telemetry and I realized I do not press totally the brake, since I set it too hard (90kg). By the way, I just come back from vacation and after 1h on the rig I had a terrible backache. Sure I need to setup correctly the brakes vs seat position and fill my lombar gap. Thanks.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It makes huge difference indeed and you are right!
      I was in the same situation ware I was using 85-90% of my brakes and wen I found that I was surprised!
      It also makes huge difference on how you set the pedals relatively to your support position and 90kg feels very different if the pedals are too low relatively to the support!
      I always suggest hard pedal and short distance for better speed on the inputs but that can be harsh on long distance races ass well as driving 20min race is fine but going on 1.5h stint can be painful!

    • @marchinop7278

      I was trying to understand how some people brake noticeably later then me and was looking telemetry to understand few years ago ! I found they ware hitting 100% input faster then me and I was thinking about maybe reflection time !
      After weeks of different experiments nothing helped!
      Then I found how much faster am I with short clutch in H-shifting cars , more then 0.3 sec per 1.30min lap and was thinking what if my brake is too long 🤔
      Then I see my body movements and got even harness belt to make sure I’m sitting correctly in the seat ! With all those tweaks and proper adjustments on the pedal hardness and position I found better control and achieve those impossible braking points!

    Where did you learn so much about muscle memory and its application?
    I learned it in Kung Fu for 30 years...
    Its not obvious...
    I watched the video and looked at my rig in a new light
    Perfect timing as I am about to embark on resetting a new position to incorporate the worm gearbox on my motion rig ... so i will try to incorporate your insights and reset my seating accordingly .
    I don't use a harness and have had to massively lower the brake force needed because of my accident - but i am looking forward to seeing how your calibration tips work

Not just for Simracing but I wanted also to know how to escape from bad habits which put me in comfortable zone which is actually bad but still comfortable 🤣
      You may feel awkward in the beginning because of your previous comfort zone but eventually later you will creat new better one !

    Thanks for another amazing video! You are really touching on the critical matters that most other youtubers miss. But I need a clarification need from you... I have on my rig the O/S SEAT BRACKET FOR GT/FORMULA SEATING POSITION as the seat bracket from TrakRacer, which allows very high incline angles as it also supports Formula style positioning, which I'm not interested. (Street and GT3 style driver)
    So would you please specify a bit more what should be the ideal incline angle for me to set my seat? Maybe go all the way down at the back and half way in the front? (As I believe the full tilt at the front would be for Formula style)
    Thanks in advance!

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind words buddy 🍻
      I’m don’t know exact numbers of degrees inclination but I know for sure , as much more you lean back that much more comfortable it gets as the body transfers the the weight!
      You have to start with the seat and then see if you can set your pedals and wheel angle for that position as that will be the hard part !
