    Appreciate you presenting this perspective so clearly. It centers on patience and care. SimRacing removes the real world possibility of injury and financial ruin, so patience and being careful is difficult for folks to embrace.
    For some reason finishing a race cleanly is so much more satisfying to me.

    GREAT advice brother! I've been putting your concepts and theories into my race craft and I can honestly say I've seen a measurable improvement in my racing. I make mistakes but a lot fewer and even better is the amount of control I've gained in those circumstances. I will intentionally hot lap and try silly moves that will force me out of "control". The intent is to control the car in less than ideal situations and your practices have helped me to learn how to forget about lost time, focus, look ahead of me to take advantage of the situation and to manage my weight transfer to give me the greatest control for smooth re-entry. Your vids are so inspirational, keep 'em comin'!!✌😎

    So true ! And that's how you can be a little bit faster than a concurent with the same pace. Just need patience, not overdriving and try to push the others pilots to make the mistake. I think the most hardest is the frustration after a mistake or a crash. I need 3/4 laps sometimes to be focus on the race again.

      @@chepilevski We certainly can! Our world is small the passion I have for racing consumes me. I race a lot of ACC leagues, Raceroom, AC, and to a lesser degree I-racing ( most of my close racing buddies use ACC over I-racing out of convenience ) I do love I-racing though! I am always looking for a good race even if im not the winner. It is all about finding those plateau's and going beyond them with people who are driven! The competition sucks you up like a vacuum of speed and everyone improves!

  • @kanmuridavid

    I love your videos. I always learn something new or see it from another perspective.
    They way I look at it is to envision the line your opponent is going to or trying to take. If you're defending, you can try to get in the way of his/her line and compromise their exit. If you are attacking, you can time your line so it doesn't overlap with your line and maximize your exit!

  • @alexcarolan8825

    I love these tips! And it might be because of confirmation bias. But I do a lot of lmp2 and gt3 simracing but I am not the fastest or a hotlapper. And instead of trying to find time through laps of practice, I take a slippery 70's race or street car on real roads and drive them on edge. I do t learn the upcoming tracks but I have noticed that I can save the car a lot more than the people who are faster than me. And that I don't mind because to finish 1st, first you must finish :)

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Downside of sticking your nose in just a bit is that the other driver might turn in (as you don't have the corner). You're betting on intimidation to get him out of the way, if he doesn't bite and you can't back out anymore. Most leagues will likely give penalty to you for sticking your nose in and quarter paneling the other driver.
    I think it's a good tip but important to highlight that you need to be able to back out in case he turns in aggressively because you're never really there.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeh
      I raced in a league with rules in any overlap you have to keep your line but in other leagues they work on half car overlap before you have the rights on the line !
      As you said, is very important to know the rules you are racing with!

All those "little" mistakes add up to a big total. Especially to be agressive on your opponents is such a high risk because of your impatiens. In acc after the last update you can ruin you're tires in such a fight that quickly that you're loosing lot of time over the rest of the stint.

    Great tips, & some that made think about my recent races in ACC :)
    Good racecraft is so important, & how to mind your own buisness in battles.
    But one thing you could also dive into, wish is especially important thriughout a race is consistency, & how to achive that during a race. In particular in strategic battles :)

    Yea the problem is when you were showing your nose they don't know if you are going to back out or divebomb you. While they may be the point in an online race it leaves the car in front no other choice but to defend the divebomb. It's better to lose a tenth than either get punted or pushed off the track. If this were a real race with stewards etc things may be different but not a random online lobby.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeh man !
      I raced for 5 years in very strict high level championship with 10k $ price pull and penalty was never option for me 😂
      I learned to fight very close battles with having in mind to keep my opponents save and push them to make there own mistakes 😃
      In random online races I have to admit I experiment more dangerous things just because I’m not afraid of penalties !
      You are absolutely right!
