    Thanks mate. Microsoft employees work within a commune. If there is an idea to install spyware such as copilot, any dissenters are managed out. So everyone nods, acts like they are getting behind it and says this is a great idea and it is pushed to market. Thats how all of these bad ideas like bing and edge come about. Microsoft, the only thing we want from you is a clean install of windows and thats it. Most of us don't even want to use windows but feel compelled to.

      Well, all for profit organizations work this way, today, sadly. And most devs, today, sadly, are not even very competent. The end result is the disaster we have, today, sadly, in the form of malware, non-functioning applications, and a constant stream of quote unquote "glitches". Dumb and regurgitating quote unquote "AI" has just set off the final chapter of internet as a thing that used to be useful, as it will be hastily replaced by 99% fake material happily consumed by - and, even produced by - idiots. The few and rare intelligent people that haven't yet swallowed the pill will end up either in the woods in a tent, or in the asylum.

    Hi, Mike. I got the 2023-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2, but I didn't get the bloatware 'aka' Copilot AI. On the updates page near the top of the page there's a switch that says, "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available." According to a few other YT channels I watched, if that switch is set to "OFF", Windows will not auto install feathers like Copilot. Instead it came up as a separate item to install. I simply clicked the X in the top right corner and the option disappeared, and said my system was up to date. Hopefully it stays that way. If not, then this video will become quite useful. 👍

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  ปีที่แล้ว +3

    In windows 10 this has been added and despite performing registry changes it still opens and works. All you can do is unpin it from taskbar so moving to Linux. This is a total deal breaker for me. Windows is mining my information enough as it is already but the screengrab thing (whether they admit to it or pretend it was rolled back or not) is too high a security risk. I can't stay on this OS anymore. I'm an offline account so it might be specific to those accounts who opt out of being part of a windows domain (unlike windows 11 allows without rig moral).

      @@mikesunboxing I re-watched and paused to read the windows content at 2:30. You said it was counterintuitive, but didn't explain why. After reading the content in the popup box it says you're enabling the "Turn off windows copilot" feature. Instead of just disabling copilot, you need to enable the "turn off feature". Very tricky of M$.
      You are correct in the video, as opposed to the others I've watched. It just wasn't clear "why" selecting enable turned off copilot. Thanks for the video and response.

      enabling in this instance is like a double negative or code speak. the flag or switch is disable the program, so to enable it your are enabling the disable feature.

      pause
      - Save the file to your Desktop with the name "gpedit.bat" (without quotes)
      Right click on it and run as administrator

      new video done, you basically need to add two registry keys and values
      Disable Windows Copilot In the Registry for Windows 11 Home users
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsCopilot
      Create Dword32bit value and call it "TurnOffWindowsCopilot" double click and give it a value of 1
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsCopilot
      Create Dword32bit value and call it "TurnOffWindowsCopilot" double click and give it a value of 1

    Microsoft is a tricky company copilot installed last night and some things like youtube typing is black text on some of my browsers which probably isnt related but it seems to have happened after this update. so I went into the group polices and noticed that when you click on turn off copilot its kind of word play because it was enabled and at first that they meant copilot is enabled, but actually it means that the turn-off copilot is enabled . Microsoft does these types of thing allot . Needless to say it was installed it was not turned on, at least that's a good thing, now back to trying to figure out why a few of my web browsers are typing black in youtube but posting whiter text in youtube lol
