I remember near the final battle in the show the allied forces were discussing the weaknesses of all the gundams. With Heavy arms, they told everyone that they had to wait until he ran out of ammo and so they did.

yep, the gundams actually don't have much screen time overall. It's mainly politics and talking. But, as per usual, anything robot based is gonna get a lot of hate for simply being big stompy robots that fight nonsensically. I think GW just happen to come out at the right time though. I don't think it would ever make it in today's industry, considering the collective anime community steers more toward fantasy isekai. Gundam is just very hard to really appreciate.

Heavyarms was amazing due to his weapons load-out and his durability. One of the only gundams to go toe to toe with death-scythe gundam and his actual death scythe and not get sliced up. A walking fortress with ammo and missiles to spare.

Imagine reloading this monster. Those are probably 75mm rounds or bigger, those rounds don't come I. Belt feeds so, you got to load that shit by hand into a feed tray.

That's literally just how animation was and still is. You'll see a lot of reused animation in everything but because people are more aware of it now they often disguise it with minor changes.

The animated series was amazing but I always thought it had a weak ending. Not the final battle itself but the very last scenes. Thought they should have touched more on Heero, Relena and the other characters as far as what happened to them. Perhaps they showed us that in the movie Endless Waltz however the movie had a weak ending itself imo, but the movie itself was obviously amazing. My favorite Gundam series of all time regardless! I never get tired of watching it.
Supposedly the manga Gundam Wing Endless Waltz: Glory of the Losers is a retelling of the anime that incorporates the movie and other side stories. Example of a change is that Wing Zero is actually a damaged prototype that gets repaired w/ parts and wings from Tallgeese.
Although sources seem to flop between the two, the gatling is seen to NOT use physical ammo but it is a beam gatling using a built in generator. This makes sense because if I was piloting it it's good to know that I would always have the main weapon available even when my other weapons are empty after allowing it to recharge, but in the series Trowa discards the gatling as if it's completely spent on occasion. A lot of plot points and other things got missed out/altered during the making of the series and I think heavyarm's gatling was one of those things too.

Which makes sense as either the gatling would e empty in 10 seconds or Heavyarms would be hollow more or less to store the ammo. Funny thing about gundam wing is that you are not always sure which is a bullet or a beam. The same with Tallgeeses makn weapon, starts out as a physical bullet, then switches to a beam despite no change in appearance or sound..

A lot of Wing has to be hand waved away due to it's behind the scenes production, directors were fired halfway through etc so the series is honestly a mess lol. For Heavyarm's gatling though it's really annoying because it's redesigns (including it's redone canon version for "Glory of the losers" and "Endless Waltz") it uses a physical ammo based type which I find to be a huge downgrade.

Yeah that does not make sense, ammo storage again becomes an issue. The gatlings from EW are huge but they would still tear through their ammo in seconds most likely.

the thing I love about gundam wing is its not exactly pretty in fact its dark tone in season one at least made it feel grungy and menacing. in fact I like the characteristic of child soldiers not being stable and even sadistic hence heero yuy being so homicidal and gleefully at that. because you dont see real child soldiers even acting human because there experiences and conditioning. there usually messed up individuals because they have been desensitized to taking life and doing as they pleased with the populous. gundam wing almost hits some notes of that. heero was in a position to become infamous as a anime character in the right way.
Loved heavy arms because it gave a real pilot gun gundam feel not like Herro who could just shoot his beam rifle and decimate many enemies in one shot.
Heavy Arms deserved a much better upgrade for the final act. Sandrock and Heavy Arms should both have had an upgrade on par with Deathscythe and Shenlong/Altron's. I personally think that Heavy Arms' main gatling gun should have been replaced with Vayeate's beam canon, and Sandrock should have been given Mercurius's planet defensor shield system. It would make sense for Quatre, the strategist of the group, to be given a defensive system for Sandrock, so that he can be protected while sitting back and relaying battle tactics.
Considering the Heavy Arms whole schtick of 'More Dakka' it might be one of the next units added in a future update for Gundam Evolution (it or Deathscythe)

Or similar health but better DPS (at the cost of needing to AIM) and the ult is more an cone effect in the immediate area (basically like Marasai only no stun so the enemy has a chance to escape) anything in the cone takes massive damage as bullets and missiles both slam into enemies in the cone radius (lasting 2 seconds, requiring 1 full second to kill, 2 for GM with shield up)

Or similar health but better DPS (at the cost of needing to AIM) and the ult is more an cone effect in the immediate area (basically like Marasai only no stun so the enemy has a chance to escape) anything in the cone takes massive damage as bullets and missiles both slam into enemies in the cone radius (lasting 2 seconds, requiring 1 full second to kill, 2 for GM with shield up)
