Im so fortunate to have watched Gundam Wing on Toonami. What a blast it was.
Those were the good ole days. I was in the 7th/8th grade during that time period. Had all the action figures and model kits back then too.
@@commandervile394 same the contrast between gundam and normal fighting anime like dbz and yu yu hakusho was nuts I instantly became a mech anime fan ..

Best suit in the whole series. Potential for amazing combat choreography off the charts, concept of design totally out of the box. The suit screams ultraviolence with the dragon arm but at the same time is smooth and graceful with the shield and glaive. The massacre you can't stop watching because it is mesmerizing.
Best suits definitely wing zero custom but wufei’s gundam is badass
The Tallgeese III and Flugel are my personal favourites. Those wings belonged to the Tallgeese originally anyway, and look much better on it.
That heat rod is so cool. Best melee weapon imo, better than Nataku's extendable arms.
@@fancyesquire8888 What wings? You mean on the upgrade version? Upgrade version and EW version are lame. Choreography falls off, there was no good way to use both extending arms without just focusing on that so it became all glaive or all extending arms and rather boring.
Original Shenlong was brutal, graceful, ultraviolent. Like a cat playing with it's soon to be food. Like at 2:29 for instance.

Yup it's always exaggerated to the point of being near impossible to think in IRL, but that's honestly my fav part of all of Wufei's Gundam. Soo sad that after Virsago from AW Gundam X, this gimmick doesnt seem to appear again within Gundams (other than Jiyan Altro for reasons)
I grew up watching Inspector Gadget and his go to gadget arms and also there’s Luffy’s long ass punches in One Piece so it wasn’t too far out of the ordinary in anime land for me lol
@@ernestorio3550 bought the model kit years ago and found that it was literally 1 extra arm segments that unfolds

Gundam Shinlong. Nataku was a nickname Wufei gave it that's why He always called it Nataku in all three versions.
It was named after Wufei’s wife, Nataku.
@@marcushamner5994 It's just what he calls it. The blue one is called Shenlong Gundam and the green one is called Altron Gundam

That’s not a bad way to put it. Wufei has an outdated and unrealistic idea of what a warrior is. He thinks it’s noble, honourable, and that soldiers deserve glorious deaths, but in reality being a soldier is painful. It’s a brief and forgotten existence and not glorious at all. Soldiers are more often statistics than people, and this is what Trieze tries to teach him.

By the time I'd seen this on Old School toonami I think I had only a watched enough anime that would barely fit on two hands and one of the things I realized after watching Gundam language is still one of my all-time favorites was that this had an unexpectedly huge body count and I loved that the main characters were a little bit on the ambiguity side of things they had no problem dropping the fatality code on their enemies and in large numbers.
The biggest treat was the midnight run which had Gundam Wing paired with the ocean dub dvz which I watched after work with dinner
I got the HGAC Shenlong at collectors marketplace in Phoenix cannot wait to build it after i come back home to my mom's along with the deathscythe.

I always saw him as the antagonist of the show while Heero and the rest were the main protagonists.

@@moatezmoussi9751 Hunter x Hunter was outstanding. It set the standard. Full Metal Alchemist was very good also. Wing deserves that levels of care if a remake ever does happen. The suits cannot positively cannot be CGI, that is my only requirement.
@@blunderrated Hunter x Hunter1999 is still far superior that that rainbow shining version... and to be fair the best CGI in the anime history are used in gundam so no need to worry about it . look at gundam origin for example
@@moatezmoussi9751 I agree with you a little that reworks are disasters now tbh. As good as the Gundam CGI is now, its still CGI. I think hand drawn is still superior when the budget is available, like IBO and thunderbolt.
Also no, the big moment fights in HxH remake were top shelf. 1999’s style was much better and detailed in illustrating the dark grim atmosphere, but every single fight scene in 2011 was miles better.

Nataku would probably be my choice of gundam to fight the Epyon when Zero Wing is not available. For my runner up, I'd pick Deathscythe Hell to fight Epyon.

Righty O' mate zechs and wufei battled before but zechs was using wing zero and it ended in a draw
