Are water mixable oils mixable between brands? ie Winsor Newton and COBRA?
Good question! Yes you can intermix them as far as I know, but the manufacturer recommends to stay with one brand for the best performance
Jerry Yarnell has a great pallet set up.
While I wouldn't necessarily say he has a limited palette he definitely has everything you need on there!
I feel sorry for whoever's work that was used as an example of garish beginner mistake.
It's not that it is necessarily terrible, just not the specific look we are going for. If someone wants to do that type of work, go for it. I just feel like it is a little too much.
When you can't get the exact color you want with your limited palette, just use a proper color that works and don't even worry about it.
Yes, no need for it to be perfect. Just make sure it works for the given painting/composition
