Has the builder replied in another comment, this is their ship demo showpiece van where they have installed what they consider to be the best of everything, to demonstrate at shows and elsewhere. So this truly is at the highest end of their range.
Very interesting! Pretty cool how they streamlined the production of the vans. Can’t imagine what the total cost of a restore of an airstream or other vintage trailer would be. Dan’s last statement about getting back into tents to get grounded was hilarious! Thanks Marc! Ram 👍🏼👍🏾
Thanks Marc. What drew your interest into the camper van market? Or was it more the airstream restoration? At around the $225,000 range it gets really hard to justify spending that kind of money on a camper van, when there are much bigger diesel offerings out there for the same price range. I guess it just depends on the build quality and intended use. Like what you need, full time requires a big enough enough space to work and relax in. Otherwise you feel compressed all the time. But just for an adventure short haul tripper, this has allot to offer... but at what price for that application? Gord
The van shown off is our premier luxury adventure van we take around to expos and van meet ups to show off our work. It has the best of everything we make and install, custom walnut finishings and then we powder coated a bunch of the exterior bolt-ons - so this is not the average price at all - more like the upper limit. It has a 10kWh 48v system that can recharge from 0% in two hours and though we haven't taken it on the Rubicon trail - we're thinking about it. We strive to make vans that last for decades, are incredibly capable, with future-proof electrical systems.
@@Reparadise The work is fabulous. But it has limited application. For the right person with the money, it makes sense. Thanks for the incredible work you do and sharing your story. Gord
@@gorrdd @reparadise said it best. And so did you, Gord. You correctly pointed out that it's all about the application, need and desire. We met Chance while dealing with our Victron equipment just prior to heading to Quartzsite, and he went above and beyond the call of duty to help us rectify our situation. Once we understood what they did, it was a natural to present their operation to our viewers.
Nice to see how they are operating. I like the standardization. For the Sprinters, I'm kind of surprised how much space, money & weight go into the electrical systems. The older I get, the more simpler seems better. But having had a career in Automation, I understand the methods used to standardize & be able to provide support for the customer. Nice job on the video. Thanks
Thanks! This was a really interesting video! We like learning new things! BTW the Air Force One tow kit for the new F150. I didn’t realize how small the Ranger was! See ya! ❤
Nice vans
They are indeed, Joe. Thank you very much for watching!
I love that they rebuild old campers, I love airstreams
That's what first drew our attention over there. And don't you just love that old 1940s Westwood bread loaf?
Well thought out van but $225,000 is crazy!!

Gather you enjoyed this one, Timothy!
The Vans are still very expensive, but I do like the server rack batteries. Thanks Don
You've picked up on the whole point of this episode, Don. There's a little something for everyone to extract from this.
