Hey MONO, the 4v4+4 is the box-midfield rondo we saw with green x orange tops.
The game game works whereby Maresca does not allow them to pass to the nearest teammate and must skip one player. Upgrade on the basic rondo because the inside 4 learns to press while being overloaded, while the outer set learn maintain composure and gain chemistry. 🍻
I've watched this training video about 10 times now we need more from the Club.

The tactical input he's instilling in this young squad will be key. We're dynamic and flexible. Jackson will thrive in this system with quickfire shots and limited time to think. Honestly don't think we need anymore signings even a striker. Just need to trim the squad a little and a bit of patience.

I think mostly in the drills everyone plays all positions, so even tho reece was in the middle there doesn't mean in game he will be playing in the middle (tho it's likely he will). I think this could also be what they meant by our players being "swiss army knives" knowing every position well

Maresca is a pretty good trainer.
Lots of passing patterns will have you passing and following your pass so everyone will go to every position.. 4v4 plus 4 floating could be a 3 team game is really an 8v4 with the team in possession. Could be positional or not

70% of the teams in England play in a low block. So all these playing out of pressure is bullshit. Work on low block teams to be able to break them down and score goals
You're showing a very large lack of understanding the phases of football here.
Almost every football team (except the bottom 6) will pressure during the opponents build-up phase.
Low blocks occur in the final phase, which is completely unrelated to the training the players are currently doing and what I highlighted.
As for the "70%" statistic:
Arsenal, Man City, Man United, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Villa, Brighton, Palace, Bournemouth, Leicester, and Ipswich all press high when able, with an argument that Wolves and Southampton can too. That's 12 or 14 out of 20 teams in the league that all press. 6/20 teams not pressing is not 70%.
@@monocfcyou are correct to an extent but if you could remember Mourizio Sarri's team had the same issues. Scolari had same issues.
@@Chelsea2283 Yes but you need to remember MORE teams in the championship ran low blocks than they do in the Prem and Enzo's Leicester team ran through that division pretty easily.
Personally I don't expect it to be a problem.
