I grew up in Baltimore and I remember the apple trees in peoples back yards and the berries that grew wild. When we were bored as kids we would get pans and buckets and collect the apples and the wild berries for fun and the grandmothers and aunties would take it and return that fruit to us in the form of pies and muffins. ....delicious. I miss those days and all that sweet free wild fruit.
I know it’s daunting, but speaking as someone who is made quite a few pies if you can make a fruit pie you can make anything. Thing is it takes practice. I would advise going around and looking at a few TH-cam videos of people doing pie demos. And don’t commit to any one signal recipe, watch a bunch of them. And then commit to the one that inspires your confidence. That’s what I did with videos on how to make curry. Eventually you get the hang of it.
If you think about it, pies were a great pick me up while traveling. High in sugar, must be eaten with a fork, better with coffee. Time taken to eat, relax, sugar and caffeine boost but not heavy to make you sleepy.
Apple pie is always just so savory as well as Key lime, Pumpkin, Coconut cream, Pecan pie, and Peach cobbler (yes, the list continues). Like Meg Ryan said, “ice cream on the side and not on the top”. With that being said, I’ll have what she’s having (can’t resist saying it).
Meg Ryan’s character was correct about the on the side ice cream business. Once you put them together you have lost all other options. I’m a food separatist…no touching !
All American pie are good in evey state but apple is the best I love apple as so do all my kids a grandkids .tradition...we need this in AMERICA pies..favs
My mother in law made everything from scratch. My son loved her cherry pie. One time for whatever reason she made a cherry pie using a store bought crust. He took one bite, said This isn’t your crust” and wouldn’t eat it. Store bought crust went in the trash. Bye, bye Miss American Pie!!
My Dad's favorite pie was the one in front of him. Miss you Dad! ♥️

Those two are adorable.
Ikr...Really cool couple...
She's sooo cute!
Now if I could just feel comfortable making the crust, it’s why I tend to avoid fruit pies when I bake.
The crust is always the roughest part to do on your own- even with the ones already made for you.

That's why I've only been making apple crisp -- another reason is that I am too lazy.
If you're in the right parts of Wisconsin, check out the Norske Nook if you're hungry for good pie. Unless you want out of season strawberry.
Yes
I do love baking and eating apple pie.
GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.✝️🇺🇲
What a refreshing change to hear someone proclaiming their love for this country instead of crapping all over it. And those pies look amazing!
You must be REALLY fun at parties...

Mile High Apple Pie from the Blue Owl Bakery, with caramel nut sauce on top of course. Google it.
So far as I can recall.....I've NEVER even tasted ANY kind of pie. I'm 65. I was a picky eater as a kid. Someday, I'll maybe have to try apple pie.
I had strawberry n rubarb ;)
