Chaps who are half his worth are so noisy and visible this man is a bank of knowledge and experience and an absolute legend!!
The 4 stalwarts of Indian cricket from Karnataka - Srinath, Prasad, Kumble and Dravid, had come to our school - Bishop Cottons (B'lore) in '98 to inaugurate the school's new sports complex and auditorium. After the function, we chased them to the car park for some photos and autographs and they obliged almost everyone, which was very sweet of them. I still remember when someone shouted, 'what's the secret of your success?', Srinath with a big smile said, 'Idly power', and, quite expectedly drew loud cheers and whistles. Btw, if you talk about simplicity, Srinath came in a Maruti 800 or a similar sized car. All 4 of them were extremely down to earth, spoke in Kannada whenever they got a chance and didn't have any of the 'international star' attitude. In summary, I can say, that, that day, these cricketers taught me that 'simplicity is the ultimate sophistication'. ❤️
Countley Ambrose, Srinath, Donald, Wasim and Mcgrath were really the great pace bowlers in 90s. Srinath really was one man army for India for quite sometime. He was over used many times and best thing is he was always there to bowl with all over sweat.

Fantastic as always! Srinath, Kumble, Venkatesh Prasad, Dravid - those days when Karnataka produced super fine gentlemen one after the other, still remains in Indian cricket fan's memories. As Srinath himself said, he was a lot more different and far more effective when he had other bowlers to come in and share the burden and also when technology and training methods improved. But still, he toiled so hard in those days when these things were not easily gettable for the Indian team. Now we understand why India were so ordinary in the 90's when touring abroad. And I absolutely adored the way Srinath spoke about education! MASTERCLASS!!!

Hey guys...love the unity here...lets not be divided anymore as north and south Indians...just Bhartiya
@@Anup-k8j right bro
I've been following indian cricket since Kapil Dev era... This is the first time I've ever heard this man speak at length... Thanks Ashwin for this initiative...a great chat!!
Well said
Countley Ambrose, Srinath, Donald, Wasim and Mcgrath were really the great pace bowlers in 90s. Srinath really was one man army for India for quite sometime. He was over used many times and best thing is he was always there to bowl with all over sweat.
Ashwin brother ♥️♥️.
Nice to hear you talk in ಕನ್ನಡ ♥️
Wow... ಕನ್ನಡ 🥰🥰 that's adorable Ashvin 👏👏👌
Lovely players from Karnataka Dravid, kumble, Srinath ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Being a Kannada boy all my life, it gives me goosebumps to watch such Kannada legends....loved that line 'Nice Things Happen to Nice People' !!! So true an dhis description of Dhoni as a 'Yogi' in the game is spot on....detachment from the result and focus on the process.
When two south indians talk
U understand the class of southern part of our country
The south and the north east have also ways been underrated
Speaking English doesn't make you classy. ..
@@shubhamlele5395 I am not talking about how articulate they are but how they understand the game so well and are good planners
@@shubhamlele5395 he never mentioned 'English'.
@@shubhamlele5395 he is talking about simplicity passsion for game, and sensible mature conversation..you idiot..
A true Legend Javagal Srinath, Mysore Missile! He was the Best Swing bowler of 90s..He is always simple, down to Earth and soft spoken! Enginner par excellence,Cricketer par excellence! Ashwin's interview always good, interesting, informative and he pays a glowing tribute to the person he interview s making us go back to the memories of glorious moments of the person!
What a nice guy was Javagal Shrinath, there was something unique about the men from Bangalore (Shrinath is from Mysore)
Venkatesh Prasad, Anil Kumbla, Rahul Dravid were all so gentlemanly and down to earth.
Thanks Ravi Ashwin Sir for bringing us this very informative and upclose interview with the real tiger of Mysore.
Belated birthday wishes Javagal Shrinath, hope you had a fulfilling career and hope you have a great time as a refree.
Thousand thanks for the sweet memories.
Shubhavagali Sir.
My favorite childhood cricketer! What a treat of a cricketer and a thoughtful gentleman. Respect! He is the kind of person who leaves you feeling for all the kinder things in life!
I wish some books have no ending, I can listen to him all day and still want more ,my favorite player, God bless his family for having him around 🙏
Javagal Srinath: The most under-rated fast bowler, my favorite bowler
Mankading and 'spirit of the game' perfectly answered!
It's laughable that Ponting of all people is against Mankading!
The famed four Sri, Anil, Rahul and Venky are true gentlemen of Indian cricket.
Really happy to see javagal after a long time. .. my childhood hero!! Love u Srinath...
Thanks Ashwin!!
Ayyo! chella kutty Srinath
Thanks Ash:) for bringing in the underrated Indian player to some light !!!..... We love you Srinath JI:) :) :)
Anil Kumble got 10 wkts n Srinath was one reason...... that shows the friendship they carry!!!!
Thank you ashwin sir
Love from Karnataka
How u guys proudly talk mother tongue hats off to both💓
Srinath is my favorite fast bowler from childhood.
Thank you so much Ashwin . It’s one of my all time best interviews. Great questions and Srinath Sir’s answers were sagely .
True legend. We cannot rate a legend. My early childhood memories are with his aggressive action. Great gentleman. Love you Javagal Srinath Sir.
Wow! Kannada! That's a sweet surprise.
So nice to hear Kannada. Shrinath ji is so underrated. True Legend
Thank you ashwin brother for bringing this gentleman to speak.Your are a very good interviewer. Hatsoff to you for not shying away from speaking in the regional language like tamil and kannada which most south indians do. Hope more players from south play for india in the future. Love from neigbouring state karnataka.

It's always a great pleasure to hear Kannada from Javagal Srinath.. Very humble and down to earth.
I'm proud to say - I'm from the same school where he also studied (Marimallappa's High School, Mysore)..!
One of the Greatest Seam bowlers India has ever produced!
Highest ODI wicket taker from India till date!
Deserved much more than what has received! Unfortunately, Underrated!
Very nice Interview!
Ashwin bhai..namaste.. thank you so much for bringing this legend🙏..interview chaala baga chesaru (Telugu)..love from Vizag
I am a big fan of Javagal Srinath and my all time favorite pace bowler. In my opinion he is the first true pace fast bowler India has ever produced (with due respect to Kapil Dev) but unfortunately most underrated bowler also. Sachin Tendulkar utilised him to his full potential. Thanks Ashwin for this interview. You are also one of my favorite off-spinner. I watch test matches if you are playing that game. T20 I always disliked that, so not a big fan of IPL games. All the best Srinath and Ashwin. It is nine to see my two favorite players in one screen. Srinath avarae yanga ethiri.
Best episode.. Spirit of game lies with the batsmen standing in the non striker end.. Srinath Sir is a legend. Greatest of all Time
Thanks Ashwin da for doing this talk with Srinath- an amazing personality of India cricket. I was a big big fan of his and really enjoyed his bowling. Also, a really big fan of his talk at Google :)
It was a great conversation Ashwin bro 👍👍 Srinath is my favorite childhood fast bowler.. Great to see both of u talk in Tamil and Kannada with mutual respect.. it brings joy to all.. 🙌
From start to finish was expecting Ashwin to know about Srinath's interaction (if any) with another great legend who came from his Mysuru hometown. That was Offie Erapalli Prasanna. Don't know how he missed out. Cricket fans would have lapped it up. Even otherwise wonderful interview. Thanks very much to both of you. Cricket not another game. Builds our personality
I still remember there was talking going on about Srinath's retirement before 2003 WC and Sourav Ganguly encourages him to play. The way he performed throughout the tournament was just outstanding.
He was backbone of Indian fast bowling before Zaheer started.
Srinath has evolved into a sage!!! What clarity and poise in his words!!!
Javagal Srinath was the first action I bowled and was my first favourites of the game. Nice to see him here. Happy Birthday Srinath. OG 7!
This high quality Cricket interview must be watched by all budding cricketers. Supreme quality questions and heavy weighted answers. Such a spontaneous conversation. Hats off ...
Humble, simple and a seriously dedicated cricketer...Mysore Express!!!....Hats off to you sir
Thank U Ashwin, Awesome chat, Seeing Srinath after a long time. True legend of swing bowling I have ever seen in Indian cricket. It a pleasure to watch people like Srinath, Anil, Dravid, talk. Don't forget these people have earned their place with great distinct, respect and honor. They have carried the same till date with simplicity even after so many years post retirement. Thanks one again.
Proud that I come from the same city - Mysore - and practiced in the same club during my schooldays- The Mysore Gymkhana. I shall never forget the moment I got to shake his hand in the coaching camp. Simplicity personified is our Mysore Express.
What a great humility this man possess.
2 times Ash mentioned about the SA Test where Sri got reverse swing at those times and praised him still Sri didn't boast how he good he was in that Test.
Respect 👏👏
Wish you a very happy birthday Javagal Srinath! My all-time favourite, most gentleman cricketer. May God bless you with a healthy and happy life ahead.
Thanks Ashwin for this Interview with my childhood favorite cricketer ....only 90's born kids will understand importance of this most hardworking fast bowler & serving Indian team as the frontline pace bowler for more than a decade and also played few innings memorable innings as batsman ...such an Asset to our Karnataka and Indian Cricket team !
brilliant insights
"Not that everything good happens to everyone. But if it is happening to someone you better be part of it"- Javagal Srinath.
So inspiring Sribhai. Thanks Ashwin for this wonderful interview.
Can't wait. What a champ JS was !! Kudos to you Ashwin, great insights, sensible and pertinent topics discussed. Keep it coming :)
Srinath sir I am a big fan of you. You shouldered the complete bowling responsibility till 2003 . To honest, I didn't follow cricket for few series after ur retirement. I really want to meet you in person if I get a chance. Very rare we get to see ur interview. Thank you Ashwin for this Interview.

Gentle Men of Indian Cricket and a very good hearted person.
I remember the best batting he and Anil against Australia in Bangalore and India won in titan cup.
Wow!!
Thanks Ashwin, for helping relive my earliest memories of cricket, it's always a pleasure watching these amazing cricketers from Karnataka(Kumble, Dravid and Sri sir) and their insights into the game and life.
I was really waiting for you to ask about the amazing WC2003 campaign which was one of the best fast bowling pack(Zak, Nerha and Sri sir) we had in a world cup.
We should add articulation as another of Srinath's strengths! The way he explains In-Out Swing at the beginning is so simple and the overall talk is so down to earth. Every person watching it would benefit in someway. Super work, Ash..
Thanks Ashwin, to bring our legends to this show, amazing conversation
Rajinikanth. There’s something special in him. 👍👍👍
Happy Birthday JS. One of my childhood heros. Always pinned my hopes on him to take the first wicket. Fabulous human being...so down to earth. Thanks Ash for this one and all the amazing interviews. You are well on your way to be a great commentator for the game. Thanks Ash
All the best for the IPL. Stay safe. Take care
Thank you for making interview with such a legend.....this is absolutely priceless....my dad is his huge fan of jawagal srinath.
I loved seeing Mysore Express after long time.. Legend is so much down to earth .. Thanks Ashwin for the interview
It's really great to see Shrinath sri ji.. serious talk about cricket and Very special conversation.. Great Job Ashwin sir,🙏.. Real Cricket Lover would love to see such conversation..and interview..

Sri is Sri. His ball talks!!
Wonderful session. Thanks Ashwin. This week I just read about his match winning 6/21 in South Africa when India beat SA first time.
Mysore kannada is beautiful.. Hodruve bandruve... Simply gold..
My favorite bowler of all time. Only because of him, I became a fast bowler.
me too
I am glad that javagal srinath house is just 5 mins walk from my home ❤️😍
what depth and simplicity combined with lucidity. had seen this side of Kumble and Dravid. glad to see this side of Mysore express.
This is pure gold..this initiative by Ashwin is not just about cricket but valuable insights into the variable aspects of the life of many legends..so much to learn.
Finally my favorite man in live, thanks to Ashwin. I seen Sree only man sometime got anger and scold to any team member who missed catch or miss fielding. I still remember one match when Azharuddin missed catch. Lovely to see his face over.
So refreshing to watch two educated and level headed men talking about finer aspects of the game we love.. so humble and no ego.. he really seems to be at peace with himself as Ash mentioned.
There is always a calmness, humbleness and gentlemen demeanour about the three karnataka legends R Dravid, A Kumble and J Srinath. Great ambassadors of the game.
Atul Atigre : Don’t forget Prasad !
Just one word... Superb. My childhood fav cricketer for 2 reason.
1. He is from Karnataka
2. He had moustache
The "lone warrior" fast bowler of India. His longevity is immense considering that his ability was not well supported by workload and fast-bowling partnership.
OMG, this is gold. wonderful conversation. thank you Ashwin for making this happen. If that's his desktop in the background, then that is all it is about how simple he is. Epitome of simplicity.
