    Stopped here once for Coffee the locals were really unfriendly. We felt really unwelcome. We got told that we could not go into the restaurant on the beach because you had to get a meal. Instead we had to go the little place at the back. Then we were parked in and we were trying to get out and the locals just sat there like bumps on a log watching - no one offering any help. My mother had to go into the restaurant that we couldn't have coffee in to try to find who owned the car that parked us in, only then did the person come. We will never ever go back. It left such a horrible feeling with us. We could not wait to leave!

      Sorry to hear that, we had a very positive experience with the locals 😊

      Absolutely!! I Second that. Last week on our way to Donkieskraal near Leopoldtsville, we stopped there. Indeed, what an unfriendly town.
      Everyone is unfriendly, from the locals to the supermarket staff. Same like you, we could not wait to leave.

      Thanks, Ray. Most of the footage was with our mobile phones, but we also had a Nicon 1000.

    You are so wrong Schaapen island is in the Langebaan lagoon. Dassen island is just off the coast at Yzerfontein😮

    • @kimbrandis
      @kimbrandis 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually, both are correct - Schaapen Island is in the Langebaan Lagoon, and Schaap Island is off the Yzerfontein point. Look on a map - it is just below the harbour, at the point.

      Schaapen and Skaap are 2 different islands, although Skaap is not always an island, at low tide it is connected to the mainland.

    Beautiful place as West Coast towns go, but I've never seen so many unfriendly people in one place. Definitely not a nice, small friendly town.

    Nice videos; feedback - the music is quite off-putting and the sound quality isn't always the best but otherwise nice videos 🙂
