I have a red betta just like this and he lives with a snail. It's hard to find any live aquarium plants in the country where I live, but he's got a pretty big tank and some rocks from the Black Sea in there. I guess it's minimalist, but when we move to the US I'm going to follow your steps and set him up a paradise. (Apparently pet fish can fly with you, and I'd never leave him behind)
@@pastelshrimp3106 I checked online about it. You can take the fish in a completely spill-proof container. I would call the airline and make sure they know to expect your fish. It can travel about 48 hours and be okay, from what I've read.
Snails can be quite inconsiderate. I embrace the bladder snails in my tanks, but at any given time I can find at least one poor snail with no less than 3 other snails riding him in each of my tanks.
@@taylor.annalise1 Depends. Although they may not require as much care as fish, they still do poop, despite people thinking they clean the tank of poop. If you’re looking for tank mates, it’s fine. If you can afford to take care so many lives, it’s fine. However, they reproduce very quickly, if you’re going to get them then you should prepare your heart to cull them if necessary. You should make sure your betta isn’t really aggressive or likes eating/fighting snails, because if it manages to kill one, not only will you now have dead snails but a maybe sick betta (because of the shell if they somehow try to eat it and stress). Make sure your snails don’t stress out your betta and make sure to clean the snails’ poop too. Snails are very cute, helpful and annoying, so while they do improve your tanks’ looks and health, they can also be a nuisance because they breed too much. Don’t be surprised if you find snails all over your house, your couch, your desk, almost anything (an exaggeration but you know what I mean)!

Oh gosh, now i am imagining his father searching for him like martin searched for nemo and i am feeling so sad 🥺🥺
I love these videos. School has just been so stressful and it's been giving me a lot of anxiety, but watching videos like these calm me down and make me feel happy. I just got betta fish a few days ago too! They're double tail halfmoon plakats, so cute! But the breeder won't ship them out till next month, which is fine with me. I look forward to preparing their tanks while I wait for them 🥰❤️
Have you decided if you're using plants? My son and his grandma just set up a tank together and she used her pothos from her collection. He absolutely loves it too compared to his plastic cup home at the store :( he will dive into the roots and just hang out then swim away and explore
I once had a blind betta in a bamboo cube and he built a bubble nest around the bamboo edge. And from what I've been told they have to feel happy to build the bubble nest.
omg I have no words to explain about this beautiful aquarium, definitely the fish always feel safe in such environment and then lay eggs too because it feels like home to them, totally natural look
Nice set up! The red betta really stands out in there. I have heteranthera zosterifolia in my rio 180. It grows so fast, it's one of my new favourite plants
luck bamboo are really easy to propagate, just chop them and put them and put them in water, and they'll sprout roots. if you're really having a hard time you can use some rooting hormone

That betta looks so blissed out in that tank! I love it. I have a cat so I need to have a lid on mine, otherwise I'd love to put lucky bamboo in my beta tank as well.
lucky bamboo is also toxic to cats, so please be careful if you do end up finding a way to have some in your tank to keep it out of the way of your feline friend! (not to assume you don’t already know this :))
I been planning to do this once i move im going to set up nano tank for betta and fill the back with lucky bamboo and have one big java fern in the middle
NAVID _MAVERICK yea i do i been keeping for for 13 years lol I have a tank i run no water changes at all in, its a 10 gallon with 5 gallons of water and out of the water i have peace lily,pothos and lots of plants growing and in water is java fearns ad java moss. Its whats called a riparium, it needs no water change because of plant density.

This video was great! I Love betta fish, and your tank is like a dream. I totally like your style, lots of real plants 😀( I hate the fake 😠) and Good stuff, no plastic or such bad. I love my betta so so much, hes a part of my family. I keep him in a 54 liters tank with a good warm pump, lots of plants and smaller rocks at the bottom and two algae eaters för some Company. My sister has a tank with two betta females, soon we will have some betta-fry (fish babies) again, loved the vid! 👍
The bamboo you placed in the tank was not the same bamboo you trimmed earlier in the video. You trimmed the rooted ends off the stalks, but planted rooted stalks. Why the switch?

I feel you, I’m in the same situation and I very recently got my beta sswell, he’s a dragon scale male and so pretty!
Watching the the man works on the tank and the fish being so relaxed is so relaxing

I once had a blind betta in a bamboo cube and he built a bubble nest around the bamboo edge. And from what I've been told they have to feel happy to build the bubble nest.
Bubble nest does not equal happy, it's just a sign that they're ready to fuck
Over the years I've seen bubble nests floating in a 5 gal container also.

I used medium lighting for this tank. Bamboo doesnt like high light so use medium to low light plants
