  • Smith and Wesson 500 "Performance Center" snub, chambered in 500 magnum.
We used the heavy 440gr bear loads, which made the recoil very crazy, as you can tell. The snub nose barrel also made the recoil even worse, so you can tell this wasn't very pleasant to shoot.
The recoil went out of control. I tried to control it the best I could, but it just seemed to be so bad that it was very inaccurate. I kept missing the watermelon at close distance because of the recoil making the shot go up higher!
This is considered to be the most powerful handgun in the world as of now, and I can definitely tell after I shot it and after I saw what it did to the watermelons. Its really crazy that such a compact handgun can cause this much destruction!
Similar to the Desert Eagle, I can't really find a situation in which you would use this. Maybe for big game hunting or for self protection against big animals, but honestly, I would rather choose a .44 magnum or a .454 Casull over this. Reason being is that first of all this gun is extremely loud; even wearing earplugs UNDERNEATH my headset. So imagine shooting this without hearing protection, in a self defense scenario against a bear. You might permanently damage your ears, LOL. My second reason is that the recoil is very bad. You might miss your target, haha! Also, your hands get quite sore after shooting a few times. Right now as I am typing this, my thumb is hurting a lot from after shooting!
Still though, I think this gun is very great. It's a big thrill to shoot!
