You can thank me for finding the errors in the associated blog before this was released 😂
Been working very nicely for a few weeks. 👍😀

I would recomend using 2am for events that you want updating daily. The reason is that in the automn the clocks leave summer time and you get 2 midnights and 2 1ams on the same day and the event will be trigger twice. Granted this is only a 60p a year discrepency.

Good point, I hadn’t considered that

@@MattWells0 in what country do you get two midnights within a few hours? Here in the UK the clocks go forward 1 hour at 1am (to 2am) on the last Sunday in March, and back 1 hour at 2am (to 1am) on the last Sunday in October.

I have spent the last two weeks trying to calculate the cost of my heat pump and immersion usage using the Shelly values. I thought this might be an interesting ChatGPT experiment. Being on Agile it took a few "conversations" 😀, but I think I have it sorted now. Today was the first day of it working. I need to give it a few more days to be sure and the immersion will go off 1am on Friday when the Legionella cycle kicks in. Once I am sure it is right, I will write it up.

Going to be some interesting scheduling gymnastics to work with agile!

@@SpeakToTheGeekTech It has been interesting 😀 I will email you the details when I have confirmed it is working.

Personally I wasn’t interested in a day to day cost of my heat pump, it just gets lumped under the overall house £ import. A separate spreadsheet tracks the monthly payback: solar generation, ASHP running costs and for that I just used the average agile price to cost the ASHP consumption.
I did find it useful to display the daily/weekly/monthly ASHP kWh in the Energy dashboard by configuring it as a gas consumption, but no cost as this would double count against the electricity costs

    Worked perfectly thanks!!!

Interesting seeing how it is done, bit of a bodge as you said. I think I’ll stick to not having the standing charge in the dashboard as I have to pay it anyway so it doesn’t affect payback calculations.

It was a very requested tutorial for some reason. I hadn’t wanted that data personally but now I’ve done it for this tutorial I’ve left it in and it’s quite interesting to see if you ever have a real negative cost day!

Thanks for the tutorial, I can see on the energy dashboard you showing your energy exported, I have tried to do this however I only seem to have an option for previous accumulated and Octopus seem to run a day or two behind with the data, even though I have an Octopus Mini so my export data never seems to line up with that days export. So my question is how do you achieve this?

Correct me if I'm wrong. Aren't the Hershel Infrared panels made in China.

Originally yes, but they were designed in the UK. Last year however they opened a production facility in the UK.

Tried this but the cost always display as £0 every day in the Energy dashboard, despite the sensor increasing over time.

You might want to start again and follow the tutorial through, I think perhaps you may have missed a step or mis-typed something. If your source sensor is increasing but not appearing as a cost on the dashboard then I'm almost certain that's what's happened. I've been using it for a couple of months now with no issues at all and I've had lots of feedback from others to say it's working well for them too.

@@SpeakToTheGeekTech I'll delete all the sensors and try again. Thank you

Deleted everything and started again, but still shows zero £ in energy dashboard. Turns out that my Octopus electric grid import charges that are already in the energy dashboard are inclusive of standing charge anyway so don;t need to add it after all otherwise it accounts for it twice. Thanks for your hep anyway.

@@SpeakToTheGeekTech ran into an issue right at the end. "Message malformed: required key not provided @ data['trigger']"
Double/triple/quad checked every spacing and letter and can't get it to work.
can you flick me your template? is there an easy way to do it? Appears to have something to do with a data trigger as per the error but I don't know.
