    That is interesting: simple, robust, and in line with the first generation of Tamiya’s RC cars.
    It’s effectively the old Tamiya 934 kit in the 21st Century.

      That's why I like these so much, just for that reason. Especially as the vintage RC cars are now so expensive and fragile, having one or two of these kicking around to take outside and swap paint knowing these are simple, tough little RC cars that don't cost much to purchase or repair. It just takes the stress out of it and keeps it 100% fun for younger RC fans and RC Dads / Mums.
      Trash a body, well that's, £6.99 and some old car paint that the kids can spray it on. Slap a few personalised banger decals on it and you are back in action.

    As a Kamtec user and RC Banger Racer, well done for your video, Ive built a few and raced a few, the battery being loose is because you are using a 6 cell where as we use a standard 4 cell and does fit and hold down with the bolts on the top plate adjacent to the two square holes fixed with two 3mm bolts and nuts with a nylon round spacer. The manual speed controller isn’t as fierce when a 4 cell battery is used.

    I buy most of their body shells and find it easier to use a soldering iron with a blades and then clean it up with a decent pair of scissors also rubbing it down with sandpaper as for holding the battery in i use a very strong elastic band going around both sides the battery and underneath the chassis

  • @MrVolvobloke
    @MrVolvobloke 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Manual speed controllers are excellent for this formula, after all you don't want to hit your opponent slowly do you ? Yep, re bodyshells, might as well cut them out as they're meant to be done. Don't be nervous just trace around the windows with a pencil first, then score with a sharp knife . Next score again a little deeper, now go through on one side and apply pressure, the window will 'pop' out. Don't bother with dremels or such this way is quicker and more precise, I must have done close to a thousand of them over the years.

  • @gasflange
    @gasflange 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In my experience a dremel is the best way to cut out windows etc paint wise just chuck it on nothing special as most of it will be on the track sides and other cars after your first race lol.
    And as for the car build it to last before you try to go fast.
    And don't even try banger racing if you get a wobbly bottom lip if you don't like contact racing and break your car before the end of your first race because someone has straight lined you into the fence while they haven't even lost pace (it happens a lot) .
    But if that doesn't put you off its a total riot to do and there's always someone willing to help out with hints and tips to stop you breaking it to much.

Breaking news - "RcKicks main suspect in the ToyTown Bank Job" well, it had to be - the S type shell looks close enough to an old Mk.2; beloved getaway car of the British mobster! Been watching all your tamiya videos. Over 20 years ago I built a tamiya 4WD rally car and a team associated RC10T and just within the last 3 months got back into RC vehicles(after retiring from the Army, divorced, new relationship crashed, inpatient VA TBI program and now back home). I am thinking in a bit to get a kit and build it just not sure which one yet. But on top of that my grand father had an Austin Healey 3000 and back when Zia had the RC vehicles 20 years ago my parents found a Austin Gealey body shell for 1/10 scale rc and now I am looking for a new one do you know anyone or anyplace that I might be able to get one or 2. Thank you love your videos.

The other benefit is parts are amazingly low cost so any damage will only cost a few £ or $. £1.00 - £4.00! Even a replacement body is just £4.99 - £9.99 depending on what version.

Coming from a background of MRI installation and medical equipment manufacture the documentation level is shocking.
