I actually did exact Norcal to my leveled 2010 Silverado Z71 myself and it worked perfectly last year til i got my lift. Thanks to Shawn and Custom offsets. Keep doing the videos they really help.
Somewhere out there is a group of old school off roading buddys saying "NorCal? Shit, we've been doing this since the 80's". Thank you for making this video. I appreciate it, I'll be doing this to my 08 Silverado this weekend.
Yeah we were doing this to trucks in the 1990s at the tire shop I worked at. In central Oregon where we hate anything from California. Especially the parasites that leave.
Agreed . I'm from the South and we had lifted trucks and big tires before California had running water. I guess if you call a NorCal mod beating your metal in with a sledge hammer... I guess you can keep that name then
I would strongly recommend giving it a shot if you are not sure the cut is super easy and bending the metal in the right spots is easy. After I completed the mod I fit 33 by 12.5 perfectly.
I did the exact same thing to my truck. (07 Avalanche) I learned by watching your videos of the earlier models. So thanks for that also you can add to you title that it's for the same year Avalanche's and Tahoe's
Y'all should redo this video. Not that it's bad. I just want to see how y'all do it now almost 2 years later. I'm sure it would be a little cleaner now.?
Got a 2013 Silverado 1500 with a readylift leveling kit, order 20x10 moto metal 970s with 33x12.5. I also had wheel spacers and I had to do a hell of a lot more cutting lol
Thanks man for taking the time to send me the link to this video, think I might just lift the front up another inch and half and have the back squat, feeling a little nervous with that cutting! Lol
You would most likely rub with fender flares, i would recommend to possibly trim it back a little bit or go with a taller lift if possible to avoid trimming.
I have an 08 Sierra with a Motofab 3 inch front 2 inch back. Wanting to put the same wheel but different tire. I guess I’m asking if the tires are still going to rub the fluid tank but I guess you’d have to see it to know. Just trying to get the same look kinda.
rancho 2inch adjustable shocks come factory , levels it easy and BEAUTIFUL no spacers ..got on mine rancho all the way AROUND..800 total cost self install
I have a 2019 Silverado 2500 ltz and would love to see this done on one around my years. I have a slight rub and a norcal tuck would probably do the trick. Setup is 3.5" fabtech/stealth Shocks with 20x10 -24 4play wheels on 33x12.50.
Will this work on 2011 Silverado 35x12r22 I shaved the front and it cleared and now it's rubbing the back and looks like this would stop it but before I hack away my truck I wanna know if it's gonna do any good cause of the video being 33s
I have 20x12-44 with 33's on a 09 chevy crew cab 7in lift. My question is If I do a full norcal fender mod can I get my stock turning radius back? So I can do a U turn again. Thanks
I have a 2008 GMC Sierra with a 3in leveling kit I want to get 33 federal couragias and 20x9 wheels with no trimming will they fit and will it hit going off-road?
How much does it cost to have you all do a full NorCal? Just wondering cause im running 20x12 -44 on 305/50R20 nitto 420s with stock suspension on a 2004 silverado 2500HD duramax.
Im installing a 3in front an 2in rear with similar wheel setup. Will i still need to norcal mod the fender or should i clear? Thinking 32x11.5 instead of 33x12.5 wide. Any help will be appreciated
I have a 2013 silverado 1500. XD Grenades 20x10 -24 offset from you guys with 33x12.5 tires.. question is how high would I have to lift the truck to have them clear and not do a NorCal mod? Hope you can help! Thanks!
So 33x12.5 will fit just fine on a 22x12 -50 offset wheel by doing this? I have a 2.5 MotoFab leveling kit 2wd same truck but had some issues with rubbing
@@CustomOffsetsTV so I just did the NorCal mod and it was fairly simple. It took me less than 2 hours of time. 15 spent on jacking car up since I did one side at a time. Anyone that's comfortable cutting should be able to do this.
when you guys do the spotlight videos could you show a shot at full crank ( front and rear of the tire ). the 2016 chevy silverado high country video would of been awesome to see how much rubs or to see how close it is
What size general tire will fit my leveled 2011 gmc? I want an aggressive tire with the red letters. The guy at my local tire shop are clueless. Thank you for the help!
James Sorrells I ran 305/55r20 on my 2011 Silverado stock 20's for a couple years it never rubbed or anything. I had the nitto's a/t. I have a 7.5" lift now
James Sorrells that ain't much bigger just wider a 305 is pretty much a 33. He has another video where they do it on a silverado. If the front rubs you can take that plastic that runs across under the front bumper off
can y'all do a how norcal on a 6.0 power stroke for 33/12.50s? My lower valence pops off every now and then due to rubbing and I do have a leveling kit on
I have a 2010 Silverado with a BDS 4” Basic lift with a 2” Supreme upper strut spacer, with this mod, can I run 35s? (Don’t know my offset unfortunately)
I have a 2012 Silverado and I had a "level kit" installed at my local off-road place. Even though I bought the level kit my truck still seems to be a good inch lower in the front. Any reason why?
a 10 wide -18 wouldn't require as much of a norcal, as it doesn't sit out as far. But the concept is the same just not ass intrusive of cutting/folding of metal!
Does the 2500 have more fender clearance than the 1500? I'm attempting 35x12 tires on my 2012 2500 hd tomorrow with stock 20" Chevrolet wheels. Will the NorCal mod allow them to fit?
I would never do this.. The better way to go is to install upper and lower arms that widen the track width and moves the tire/spindle forward 1 inch and then make all ur cuts on the bumper. Out here in SoCal you see a lot of Silverado Prerunners on 37s (with fiberglass) that sit lower than this truck in the video and still dont rub. Also, by removing metal from that specific section of the cab, it will decrease the buckle resistance of your A pillar.. and in general you never want to remove material from the coroner of a stamped sheet metal structure.
I actually did exact Norcal to my leveled 2010 Silverado Z71 myself and it worked perfectly last year til i got my lift. Thanks to Shawn and Custom offsets. Keep doing the videos they really help.
David Hernandez any tips scared to cut my truck
