I'm in Saint Peterburg, Florida. My entire area and county is going to be hit directly and very very hard by Milton. What worries me the most are the massive amount of debris still out on the street from Hurricane Helene last week. Once Milton hits, all that debris is going to be flying around everywhere and crashing into houses & cars. Please keep us in your positive thoughts and prayers!!!!
Praying for everyone. My daughter just left Port Richey headed home to Tennessee. We got it worse than they did last time. North Carolina is still bad. They say that bodies are washing up on the river banks. It's so sad.
*Always* keep cases of bottled water in your car, and always have *no* *less* than a half tank of gas at any time, when possible. I recommend this to everyone - regardless of where you live - because you never want to be completely unprepared. I used to live in the mountains/high desert and would sometimes get stranded due to snow and/or wind storms or extreme heat and car overheating. It’s always best to be prepared, even if you don’t think you’ll ever need it. I also always keep a box of granola bars, a spare blanket, and toilet paper at *bare* *minimum.* A portable car battery charger can come in handy in case you need to jump your own car or charge your phone or flashlight. A basic first aid kit is also something I keep in my car. I hope this helps someone someday, regardless of your situation. It’s always best to be at least somewhat prepared, if possible. I pray for the hurricane victims, that they can get through this as safely as possible. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.
We must find the man who made Milton. Probably a brother of the man who made Helene. I know it's not a joke. And yes I do pray for the the millions of my fellow Americans in the path of these storms.
You most definitely don’t wanna be in a electric car in a flood. It’s a bomb that just keeps burning, and the chemicals are a part of all the water around you.
i wonder how many countries we've sent aide have returned the favor since Helene? I mean, that's what "friends" do right? help EACH OTHER during times of need?
@@groovychic must you? Really? Countries we sent aid to is better than our guardsman or military going . We will need these people HERE. This narrative is getting old and people will need our help after no matter if they get help from the government or not.
NOAA just said Tampa will get 9 to 12 feet of storm serge. Its time to leave people im leaving in one hour i brought six gas cans to keep in my trunk and im filling them all up with has. We could lose gas and electric for a month or more. This is the worse possible scenario. Good luck everyone
Storm surge predictions like that are misleading. There are large waves on top of the rising water. Geography is a large part also. The wind will push water in confined areas to much greater heights. I know firsthand. My house is 19 feet above sea level but in Katrina I had 7'3" of water in my house. Hurricane winds out of the south will push water north in Tampa Bay

Hurricane Milton strengthened to near Category 5 strength Monday, driving sustained winds of 155 mph as it rolled across the Gulf of Mexico bound for what could be a devastating crash along Florida's already storm-battered western coast sometime Wednesday. The storm has rapidly intensified, strengthening from Category 2 to 4 in a couple hours, and it was forecast to reach Category 5 status later Monday. By Tuesday, Milton's intensity "should be dictated by any eyewall replacement cycles, which will likely cause the system to gradually weaken but grow larger," the National Hurricane Center said in an advisory. The hurricane center has issued hurricane watches across portions of Florida and warned that parts of the state could be overwhelmed by life-threatening storm surge, flooding rain and damaging winds.
If you’re in Florida look at your county website to see what zone you’re in. If you are asking because you’re not in Fl, areas are decided by zones A-F. A, B are those closest to the water, below sea level, barrier islands, mobile and manufactured homes.
