    Great job Jared. The T looked like the hit of the car show. The patina exterior really makes the T look right. All the Porsche owners were star struck by the T.

    Great video, you've mastered driving the T! With the hills in your area, you would really benefit from a Ruckstell two-speed rear axle and a set of auxiliary brakes, either AC or Rocky Mountain. Don't install a Ruckstell without the brakes! If for some reason you get caught between gears on the Ruckstell you will have no brakes! Chaffin's Garage in California sells complete Ruckstell kits with all new components to convert your existing rear axle to a Ruckstell. The stock shifter location for a Ruckstell is in the middle of the floor board, but kits exist to move the shifter over to the same slot that the parking brake uses if you prefer. :)

  • @graymodeler

    I could hear the relief in your voice when you mastered that last hill! In the old days part of the fun was just getting there. Jimmy Stewart. I would be thinking up some kind of small extra gas can plumbed into the existing gas line with a selector switch to get up hills safely.

    Jerod: It did my heart good to watch your video. A while back I had a 1926 Model T Tudor coach in mint new condition (as good as, if not better than Henry originally made it). I've wanted a Model A for quite a while. The procedure for driving a "T" was, at first, intimidating. But, I figure if 15 million people could get the hang of it, I can, too. So now I'm more interested in finding a Model T in good condition. I'll find it.

    This is so cool! What type gas are you using? Premium?
    The speed at which this car can go makes me reflect on how things used to be and to how we live our lives in a rat race. Every time we hit the interstates people are doing 80-90 mph while on their phones. Maybe we really don’t need all that speed; why the hurry?
    When you finish the 356 you can also bring it to this show and it’ll be another showstopper.

    • @mark_p300
      @mark_p300 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a pretty common misconception that a Model T, or any other car of its era, needs anything better than the cheapest bog standard gasoline you can buy today. Back in the day you were lucky if the gasoline was 60 octane, and it doesn't matter much anyway considering the engine's compression ratio is only about 4:1.
      I've seen ads for Model Ts wherein the owner waxes poetically about how they religiously use lead additive in their fuel, and they have no idea how foolish they are. Leaded gasoline wasn't even invented until 1921, and it wasn't widespread until the 1940s; the T never, ever needed it!
