  • In this video we look at the Mixer Node in the Unreal Engine Sound Cue.
It’s a pretty straightforward node but we can use it to create complex audio cues with multiple layers and daisy chains.
This helps us flesh out a scene or space, especially with ambient and looping sounds, though we can use the Mixer Node for any type of sound in our cues.

    Well Done!
Could you make a tutorial about organizing sounds for Unreal? I've got some free sound effect packs and I use VLC to pick the sounds and then trim them in Ocenaudio (free and great for basic stuff, better than Audacity). this is not a good system... I guess I need a program to organize a library of sounds..

Interesting! But I'm afraid my answer is probably similar to what you're already doing...
Instrument get organised by brand then by type.
For sounds I've recorded, I add keywords to the file name so I can search through them later (exhale, nail_on_wood, etc). And I make sure my mic has the correct date on it so I can sort the audio files that way.
Downloaded sounds tend to have good descriptive titles already (e.g. from freesound.org) but I add them if not. Freesound.org will let you search by tag - but unfortunately you can't search by tag through the list of sounds you've already downloaded.
There are programs out there that analyse and automatically tag audio but they seem aimed at music samples, not sound effects.
I'm going to ask around actually, because this does seem like a gap!

I've had a few replies on Twitter which you can read here: twitter.com/ValkyrieSound
I'm going to be reading up on these solutions this weekend myself :)
