    Thank you so much for this information. My child receives IHSS now but Protective Supervision will begin in March. I was not aware that overtime pay would apply for hours spent taking classes. I signed up for several classes in February. Should I cancel them and wait until March to enroll? (I would not receive overtime pay for any classes taken in February.) How many total hours of classes would I need to satisfy all the incentives? I'm wondering if I would have enough time to complete them all if I put off until March. I took only one class in January.

    • @donnabiroczky2170
      @donnabiroczky2170 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Our recommendation is to not wait to take them, especially if they’re specialized classes. If you want incentives 2 and 3, all specialized classes have to be done by April 30 and they’re really hard to get. There will be other classes available for overtime -- but of course, it all depends on your preferences and schedule!

    Thank you for the information. I'm interested in completing incentives 2 and 3. I'm wondering if the 6 months must be consecutive, or if I can accumulate them with a skipped month. For instance, March, May, June, July, August, and September.

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I became a provider and started working in July 2023; I received the Career Pathway Program email on July 8, 2024. However, I have 2 questions I am wondering if you could take the time to answer them for me. Q1: Is the 15 hours of training mandatory or I do it as needed? Q2: In the email, it says "Providers will need to complete their 15th hour under a specialized pathway on or before April 30, 2024, and work a minimum of 40 hours a month for their recipient from May to November in order to meet the eligibility requirements to submit the six (6) month incentive claim". How do I complete 15 hours of training before April 30, 2024, when I received this email on July 8, 2024? Thank you!

    • @undividedapp
      @undividedapp  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello,
      Q1: Is the 15 hours of training mandatory, or do I do it as needed?
      The 15 hours of training are not mandatory, but they are required if you want to qualify for the incentive payment. The IHSS Career Pathway Program is designed to enhance your skills as a provider, and by completing the 15 hours of training, you can become eligible for additional financial incentives.
      Q2: How do I complete 15 hours of training before April 30, 2024, when I received this email on July 8, 2024?
      It sounds like there might be a mix-up with the dates in the email. The email likely refers to a specific timeline that applied to those who received the notification earlier. Since you became a provider in July 2023 and received the Career Pathway Program email on July 8, 2024, your timeline for completing the 15 hours of training and qualifying for the incentive should be different. I recommend reaching out to the IHSS Career Pathways Program directly or checking any updated communications to confirm your specific deadlines.
      If you have more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

    I am trying to submit training incentive but they say the 15hours of training time is not met. I have already completed 17 hours of training or more. Do the training hours need to be approved and paid before we can apply for incentive?

    • @undividedapp
      @undividedapp  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, sorry for the wait! Are the fifteen hours all in the same pathway? If so, then yes, you might want to wait until the training hours are processed. However, FYI, if this is for incentive 2 or 3 then the clock starts ticking on the 30 days or 6 months when the course requirement is met, not when the hours are processed. So you don’t need to wait for them to process your specialized pathway training time before you start your 30 days or 6 months.

    • @undividedapp
      @undividedapp  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! We recommend first adding up the total hours for each class, because you need 15 hours, not 15 courses. For incentive 1, any specialized pathway will do. For incentives 2 and 3, it needs to be a specialized pathway in which your recipient has authorized hours. Adult education courses cannot be used to fulfill the requirements of incentives 2 or 3. For live classes, I suggest you get onto the email list for each vendor (especially Homebridge and Center for Caregiver Advancement as they have the most classes) so that you receive an announcement by email when classes will be opening. Hope this helps!

    My question is, if I’ve been a care provider for my son for the past 2 years and I just completed the 15th of training this month, do I have to wait an additional 6 months for incentive 3 or does the time I’ve been working over the last 2 years count towards that “6 months of providing care”
    I work over 40hrs a month.

    • @undividedapp
      @undividedapp  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! It's another six months. CDSS has indicated that you don't need to complete Incentive 2 to qualify for Incentive 3. In that case, you might be able to get the six-month bonus as long as you submit the Incentive 3 claim on or before November.
      However, if they change their stance and require Incentive 2 to be completed before Incentive 3, then it would be too late to qualify for the six-month bonus. This is because the classes needed to be completed by April 30 to qualify for both Incentive 2 and 3. Does that make sense?
      Additionally, this assumes the hours were completed in a specialized pathway related to the consumer’s authorized hours. You can submit for Incentive 1 now. Hope this helps!
