Did they pay the school directly? Did you ever get a school grant? And how did that affect the DOR funding?

We have always had medi-cal since my son was born. I heard back pay can go back about a month before the initial application for IHSS once approved since medi-cal has always been in place. Can you please provide some insight? Do I let the case worker know this before the NOA is issued ?
Hello! You're absolutely right-IHSS can provide back pay for up to one month before the date of your initial IHSS application, provided eligibility requirements were met during that time. Here’s what you can do: -Let the caseworker know about your son's continuous Medi-Cal coverage before the Notice of Action (NOA) is issued. It’s always helpful to clarify this early on so they can factor it into the approval process. -Provide documentation confirming Medi-Cal coverage during the back pay period, such as Medi-Cal approval letters or other relevant records. If your caseworker doesn’t address the back pay in the NOA, you can request a reconsideration or appeal to ensure it’s included. It’s always a good idea to keep a written record of your communication with the caseworker. Hope this helps!
Isn't IHSS to become a provider to take care Adults? Why I have to pay $60 to attend an orientation? I'm broke, but I need a job for yesterday! Ty

Is it legal for regional Center to use a conservator lawyer against the consumer
Hi Christina, while we cannot provide legal counsel, based on our experience, a Regional Center can legally involve a conservator lawyer against a consumer in specific situations.
I have 2 sons who were approved PS, 450 hours in total, can my husband claim the excess hours I cannot claim? Also will they back pay for 450 hours per month from the date we applied which was in July? Sorry been reaching out to them but they don’t reply.
Hello, if your husband is listed as the caregiver on the case, he may be able to claim the excess hours you cannot, depending on the specific circumstances and approval by IHSS. It’s best to confirm this with your local IHSS office or caseworker to ensure they are aware of the situation. Please, feel free to visit us at undivided.io/ for additional support.
My son graduated from high school and received his cert of completion from the mid/severe program. He’s in his third year at the adult transition program. Our school district just rolled out the diploma track for students in the adult transition program but they said only the first and second year students qualify and that he’s not eligible to get his diploma. There must be some way for him to get his diploma. It’s causing a big problem for him when applying for jobs. Any help or insight would be appreciated

Amen! I would love a video on how we can advocate to change policies and remove these societal barriers. So much trauma is caused by these barriers creating lack of access to supports and services which leads to even worse outcomes than what the person with disabilities has to already overcome with their disability/s. Thank you for making these advocacy videos, Undivided! 🙏

Hi I need some assistance on a course I took through the 360 Learning app. Towards the last few steps it’s stating that I have completed the course but then there’s a tab that states the minimum time of 30 mins has not been reached. Please help. Thanks!
You have to go back and login and when you login you will be able to see the hours you spent on the course and once you complete the 30 mins you can submit the course
Hello, you'll need to go back into the course and spend more time watching the videos and engaging with the materials. You have to be in the course for a minimum amount of time for each course in order to get credit. This is because people were taking 10 minutes to zip through a course. So now it times you. Hi. My father had an IHSS reassessment on 6/17/2024. His hours were increased and his notice of action was received on 7/24/2024 with a notice date of 7/19/2024. It shows on the Notice of Action an effective date for the increase of services is 8/01/2024. My question is, shouldn't his increase in services be effective back to the date of the reassessment which is 06/17/2024?
Hi! So sorry for the delayed response. Your question got buried, but I believe it should be effective the date of the reassessment. For more information, check out this link: www.cdss.ca.gov/shd/res/pdf/E-Notes/E-Note%20133.pdf
Is it mandatory to take these classes?
Hello, it is only mandatory if you are trying to become an IHSS provider.
@@undividedapp www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/cdss-programs/ihss/ihss-career-pathways-program But why does it say it's optional?
Thank you for saying this and validating my inclinations about my child. I've been so gaslighted and really needed to hear this.
Jen, we're so happy to hear that you found validation from this video!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I became a provider and started working in July 2023; I received the Career Pathway Program email on July 8, 2024. However, I have 2 questions I am wondering if you could take the time to answer them for me. Q1: Is the 15 hours of training mandatory or I do it as needed? Q2: In the email, it says "Providers will need to complete their 15th hour under a specialized pathway on or before April 30, 2024, and work a minimum of 40 hours a month for their recipient from May to November in order to meet the eligibility requirements to submit the six (6) month incentive claim". How do I complete 15 hours of training before April 30, 2024, when I received this email on July 8, 2024? Thank you!
Hello, Q1: Is the 15 hours of training mandatory, or do I do it as needed? The 15 hours of training are not mandatory, but they are required if you want to qualify for the incentive payment. The IHSS Career Pathway Program is designed to enhance your skills as a provider, and by completing the 15 hours of training, you can become eligible for additional financial incentives. Q2: How do I complete 15 hours of training before April 30, 2024, when I received this email on July 8, 2024? It sounds like there might be a mix-up with the dates in the email. The email likely refers to a specific timeline that applied to those who received the notification earlier. Since you became a provider in July 2023 and received the Career Pathway Program email on July 8, 2024, your timeline for completing the 15 hours of training and qualifying for the incentive should be different. I recommend reaching out to the IHSS Career Pathways Program directly or checking any updated communications to confirm your specific deadlines. If you have more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
