I'm brand-agnostic. Short and medium hooks, some sort of long-reach swoop hook, a city rake, a bogota, and a whole bunch of turning tools. I like the gem hook too, so I made my own by filing down an offset diamond.
Grabbing a "King" and "Queen" (Multipick ELITE Bogota Reina 1 Pick [BOG08] and ELITE Bogota Reina 2 Pick [BOG09]) now, $21 including shipping. Thanks for the rec.
@@MediocreGroove you will love them!
13:00 If you haven’t broken a pick yet, you haven’t picked enough locks!!!
Na, I’m just messing with you man 😝 But that genuinely surprise me though!
I have always picked with very light tension so tools last me a long time, but I have still broken maybe half a dozen picks over my “career” (usually a poor 15 thou pick that have been repeatedly and heavily fatigued due to being forced around corners in multiple different extremely paracentric keyways) 😊
As for dream kit, I’m happy with what I have (a nice mix of the best bits from a bunch of different manufacturers), but I’m always willing to experiment with new stuff as you never really know if a new profile is for you until you use it 😊
never broke a pick, never will.
Haha, that surprised me too. I have deffinitely bent and broke picks. I still do, and bend them back. I broke a freeler pick this month trying to do something with it. I know it makes some people cringe, but I am used to it. Maybe a product of starting with picks made from hacksaw blades, maybe just me. I am more delicate when Ive tried other peoples picks. I have never bent or broke anyone else's picks, knock on wood.
@@knowthebird I used to bend picks all the time. But never broke one. Not in 18 years.
MONKEY PAW! MON KEY PAW! MON KEY PAW! Especially in .020
What do you use to tension the dimple locks? And can you make a video demonstrating the use of the probe for turning dimple locks and prevent bricking them and maybe fix a bricked lock if that's possible? I haven't been able to find anyone show this... Great video and set!
@@joedhoe just use a normal turning tool. It will free up space for the dimple pick.
I love that roll and set, though Australian Veteran pension / medically discharged . Then Our ridiculous dollar, then the snuck in spend Australian dollars $1000 including any postage on items bought, means approx $670 US or customs hold your stuff till 1 cent to $1000 and it was $287 on what you just bought. When you have disabilities from service, I have to make small orders to let me buy nice things in smaller lots. Which even now a CI who with merch and Black Friday and getting nice kit has a package with companion, bump keys, mc N set etc. Others arrived, yet one in limbo. The Roll, unless one falls from the sky, it does suck no field pay or over time, then hit with extra hits from aust Gov. sorry, Been bit of black dog ontop of pain. Another great Vid, I’m trying to learn my first Lishi LW5 on LW ASSA 334B45, Maybe bit hard to start off with Soldiers 5 knowledge on the Lishi & lock 3 days old 🤷♂️🤷♂️.. stay strong Mate🫡🪖🤷♂️
You should be collecting bare bones, they are in Australia.
As soon as the strike ends I'll be ordering one of those Paladin mats!
You wont regret it. I got mine and I was shocked by the quality. It's crazy thick and durable.
Multipick has a single peak bogata that kind of resembles a gem hook (BOG01), but not in 0.5mm unfortunately...
@@joedhoe I have it, it just doesn’t feel the same.
I just ordered the Paladin mat after your last video - it's so good and what a good price!!
What about the multipick facet pick??? That's their gem profile isn't it???
@@michaelzborovan4362 no, the profile is too small, the plow is barely existent. It’s more akin to a rounded hook. I’ve taken pictures of it and a gem hook behind it to show the difference to multipick. If they can have 10 different rounded hooks with no discernible difference to the naked eye, then they surely can make a gem hook to accompany the facet.
Fantastic
What is that Sparrows pick you are using for the ASSAs called?
@@LeCafeRacer slider? I don’t remember
@@sandman_locksport Thanks. Thats it. Their dimple pick category was the one I didn't think to check.
Awesome sets! Very cool dada rotary flags. I like the prybars idea there too. My dream set is probably a mix, I have not seen one manufacturer with everything I like. Ergo turners, leather cases or rolls. I like metal handles, but really like jimmy longs, and i want to try moki. Different kinds of dream sets to, I'd like one for in my pocket, but everything else can go in a bigger tool bag. You may have covered it in another video, but I wonder what your thoughts are on sticking with one set/type of picks to learn them well, versus trying different picks out to find what you like?
@@knowthebird i personally extensively experiment with ALL of my tools, one tool against 100 locks, 100 tools against one lock. That’s how I come to my personal conclusions. Process of elimination. Mastering one tool as a beginner is great, only if they buy a quality tool to begin with and have a mentor tell them which profile to start with and which to transition to. Most don’t have that so experimentation replaces the mentor with experience. And most new people buy sparrows, I can’t help them lol. 😆
I’ve got both Moki and JL. My only complaint with the Mokis is that the handles allow for too much flex for me. I’ve ordered a set of the 44delta handles that should be more rigid and the XTRA profiles. I don’t have any of them yet so I can’t answer to that. In the meantime, my commuting are damned near perfect. I may polish them up, though, to make them a little smoother and shinier like the Mokis
How can we get a roll for the tools like that and could you possibly list the best tools to put in it? It would be really cool to be able to have a set like you have and be able to take it everywhere and feel confident. Thanks in advance
its a multipick tool roll and multipick tools. its 100% custom and you would not be able to put it together easily, for now. Someday, it may become a set you can buy from multipick. for now, check out the Sandman Intermediate Pick Set from Multipick. That is my recommendation. Discount code for those tools is in my description.
What do you think of the new Multipick tapered BOK tensioner that has a 90 degree bend that's exclusive to lock pickers bench? I remember a previous video where you said the previous one with the 45 degree bend was your favorite for your bridge lock excursions
I didn't know he had a 90 degree one until you mentioned it, it makes sense. would love to try it. i havnt used the 45 degree one in over a year now that i carry the double ended turning tools and prybars from multipick. i think the 90 degree one would be good though.
Any advice for the american lock 1100. It's kicking my butt. TOK. Yes. It feels like I have to pick at an angle. I've used several of different profiles. Maybe it's my tension. Anyway great channel I love your content.
@@michaelstann3390 I have a 30 min video on 1100
@sandman_locksport i will look back and find it.Thank you.
i need those multipick handle stl files stat!
