I’m not sure why he keeps pushing the dirt down below the water level, it’s just gonna fill up with water, and then the fill will start pumping. If you want it to be structurally sound, you are defeating the purpose.

No, he's actually doing it right. He's keeping the wettest soil out front by pushing it down. Then rocks to fill the swale. This compacts much better rather than pushing straight out and level. I've been operating dozers for around 45 years. This guy is one of the better ones I've seen on these TH-cam videos
