This was my favorite Hot Wheels car in my small collection as a kid in the 70’s. I also had a Racebait 308, The Spy Who Loved Me Lotus Esprit, the 1966 Batmobile and a DeTomaso Pantera.
That is so cool !! I grew up watching that show !

SkullHead Oliva In some states it's required, in most (I think) you don't need to.
Josh Malecki What if it rains?? there is no top.
SkullHead Oliva I usually use the deflector shield, (a bulletproof canopy that covers the cockpit of the Mach 5) to keep dry while I'm racing, otherwise, there's always a garage around that I can use!

The Mach 5 had a gated 5 speed manual in the Manga and the Anime but I see a Corvette Automatic with a chrome knob instead. It looks pretty authentic except for that transmission. How hard would it have been to drop a T56 5 speed manual in there? It would have been so much more fun to drive instead of just a point and shoot automatic . Half the fun is shifting a classic mid 60's race car. Other than that this is one of the most accurate builds to date except for that one critical item.

I would run home because it came on at 3:30. my mom would let me watch it first before I had to do home work. It was in the late 60's I own a 1972 corvette convertible Because it looks like it more than any other car!

Un problema que mire en estos autos es que todos lo pintan de blanco entero. Y no es así. Queda mal le quita la línea deportiva al auto. La parte del costado baja es medio gris. Sin eso queda raro el diseño. También esos espejos que le pusieron sobre el costado del capo apestan . Tendrían que sacarlos Este auto es muy parecido. Si le pintaran abajo ese color gris quedaría ideal. Y si le sacarán el cromado a los botones del volante. Estaría perfecto

The real Mach 5 ??? First, it's a fictional anime. 2nd... If it was real it would only have one rear view mirror on the passenger side front fender, not 2. 3rd... It would have 6 spoke wheels with 6 round holes in each rim according to the anime.
It's a very nice replica but not accurate.
There's more but I've made my point.
well. there was also a live action movie which used real vehicles as props. aside from that, the owner of this vehicle licensed the car from the toy company for the right to call it "The real mach 5". so take from that what you will.
@@DouglasSondersThat movie was not only an atrocity...it was blasphemous.
A CGI nightmare that took away everything special about the Mach 5 as they gave all the other racers cars many similar abilities.
I wrote a better movie that would have shown how racing became more dangerous and focused Rex Racer leading into Speed's first professional race and why the Mach 5 was built.
Anyway.. you still have a very cool car.

Can't anyone build a decent Mach 5 car? All these cars that I'm seeing on the "tube" look like cheap imitations .......
Agreed. None of them have built the nose right. The nose should stick out a LOT further. The plastic model kits actually look better!!!
