Great video guys, thanks for the comparison. I have the 6600 and in general I'm super happy with the photography side but I'm thinking moving to the 6700 for the video improvements.
The A6600 has more Custom Button options, they have removed the switch button from the 6700's back that I specifically use, and overall I had the impression of intentionally downplaying the a6600 just to promote the newer version. I have NEVER experienced ANY autofocus issues with the A6600 and have no intention of upgrading for what I can tell from the review. Yes, I'd love to have the better LCD and the USB-C and the memory slot inside vs under, but I would miss my Custom Button settings I already have on the A6600. The A6700 is a great camera obviously, but for me, it's not worth the upgrade.
I agree with you 100%. I went with the a6600 over the a6700. I really like the custom buttons on the a6600. The AF/AEL switch brings the no of custom buttons to 6 when you reassign it. I view the a6600’s flip up LCD screen a plus over the side swivel LCD of the a6700, (I didn’t have a flip up camera). This is preferred in my mind for street photography. Also, the a6600 is a smaller and noticeable lighter camera and it makes better use of the battery, vs the a6700. The a6700 does have better video features but if you don’t care about that…
Just another APSC camera with limited improvement. I sort of expect a bit more from Sony on this model like faster frame rate more than just 1 more frame per sec. Seriously my old A7R4 can also shoot in APSC mode with 26mp.
All you need for the Canon R7 is EF-RF adaptor and you can use the vast array of EF lenses , Canon and others that are available. I have done that on my R7
I’ve really enjoyed my a6600 for hiking, travel (International & motorcycle) and landscape photography. Having a light weight kit and compact kit is important to me. After using the a6000, the a6600 was such an improvement. I appreciate the review of many of the improvements to a6700. But am wondering about the weight, so I will look that up as it is a big advantage for what I do. Thanks for the review!!
sony 6700 lost two important modes for travel photo: HDR photo and MFNR (Multi Frame Noise Reduction). Also a6600 better at low light condition than a6700. So a6600 is better for photo and amateur video.
I have the full frame Sony A7R IV and I'm seriously considering buying g the A6700 as a second body. Reasons: 1- I can use my existing quality full frame glass, unlike Nikon or Canon. 2- The smaller body is ideal for Street Photography and Travel. I do a lot of event photography, so having these two cameras with me and the A6700 sporting a 16-35mm lens (full frame equivalent of 24-50mm) will be an ideal set up.
You can use Nikon FX glass on a DX body. The 24-70F4S is great on the Z50/Zfc/Z30. Not only that but with the ETZ21 you can mount ANY Sony lens to the Z-mount. I've used the 15mmf1.4G on my Z50 too. I'm getting an a6700 for my f2.8 Tamron zooms. Nikon's Expeed7/8 will narrow the gap. HUGE shout out to Sony for how much better the color looks compared to the others in this video!
I’m not that unique and would buy the APS-C camera for it’s smaller size and weight for travel when I leave my full frame setup at home. For me the large array of small lenses available for Sony E mount is a clear win. I actually own both a Canon EOS R5 and Sony A1 and for the Canon R5 I don’t have a single RF L lens that is nice and small for light travel. With Sony there are many including the full array of Sigma I-Series from 17mm to 90mm that work both on FF and APS-C. Thank you for your review.
I've never been a fan of your video style but this video has turned me around. I really enjoyed your real world approach and obvious shared love of the art. I'm a convert. Maybe i never paid enough attention in the past but i will in future.
I have a R7 and my sigma 150-600 C and 17-70 OS HSM do pluse a lot. Though a firmware update via the Dock and some tweaks in the 150-690C settings and R7 sorted 95% of the issue.
I don’t remember you guys talking about the main feature which is the 4K 120 frames per second. People who buy an apc camera wants value and portability. Pro will get a full frame camera already at this price. APC person want to be able to carry this camera around without a huge lens. Who wants to spend over $1000 on 1 lens for this price point. This is a top of the line vacation and taking your kids photos and videos.
I really like Chelsea's points. She almost always takes a very practical view that the average hobbyist or enthusiast can appreciate. She also weighs budget more than Tony even if she's used to an R5, A1, or Nikon Z9. Tony's taste and preference almost always leans to the more expensive options. Understandable since he can afford any camera and nearly any lens or camera body he chooses.
The lens cost point breaks down when you factor in adapting all the now cheap used EF/EFS glass thats availble. Also with adapted glass you can use the adapters to get a range of effective focal lenghts with 1 lens. I use a basic canon EF to RF adapter, a speed booster and 1.4 EF teleconverter to get 4 effective focal lenghts from one lens. The plain canon adapted lens, speed boosted lens, adapted lens w the TC and the speed boosted lens with the TC.
I was able to find a voightlander 40 mm prime with an RF mount and there are plenty of Zeiss primes with EF mounts. Found 1 of each for less than 1 K. Waiting for sales. Haven’t tried on crop sensor but love on FF R8. I think there will be a lot of RF third party primes coming out
The R8 is Canon's current entry level full frame camera, and its hands down the best entry level full frame camera, in part because it takes the abilities of the R6 Mark 2, and puts it in a prosumer body (smaller battery, 1 card slot, et al). Sony needed to beat the R7, or at least match it... it didn't... the only strength Sony clearly has is lens selection...
@@TonyAndChelsea I guess my real Questions are what will benefit my style of shooting when comparing the FF a7c, to the Ai auto focus in the 6700 for cars/ people objects- I primarily will be photographing cars, and portraits. And occasionally night photography. I just want nice quality and I don’t know if that smaller sensor will compromise that! Will the added megapixels on the a6700 outshine the ff sensor on the a7c?
The af looks pretty impressive, the stabilization looks good, the no crop 4k 60 is a big plus, the auto framing option is pretty interesting, and the screen being able to flip to the side and rotate forward is very nice. As a Canon 90D shooter, would love to see how well some of the Canon ef-s lenses perform on the R7 (with an adapter of course). The 90D has a lot of focus issues, attributed to the sensor size and MP. Had been wondering if the mirrorless APS-C Canon would have a similar issue, but seems not - that's good to know.
@@Berry_N I was early adopter of Canon R7. Here is list of the things I didn't like about R7. - shutter shock -AF hunting even with RF 100-400, sometimes you had to peek AF in EVF, cause I got AF confirmation it is locked on subject, but I had to pump that AF-ON button to see it is focused (this was biggest drawback of this camera), this problem is not that big of a deal if subject if filling the frame or contrast is good -32mpix sensor is just too much for normal user, details got crushed in shadows which was critical for my work (I shoot in woods) so sometimes I feel FF would be better solution but FF is not ideal for wildlife on budget and reach Still think ergonomics of R7 are great, battery life is great too. Dual card slots, button customizations, EVF, screen great. It was tough decision to part with it but I just might buy A6700, still have A6100 which has great sensor much better for shadow recovery than R7 and more details in general since 24mpix doesn't resolve lens flaws.
I have the R7 and am debating between the R6 MKII or the R8 for the full frame upgrade. As for RF glass, I love the RF 18-150 even though it is no0t an L glass lens. I also love the RF 100-400, even though it is not an APS-C lens. The RF600 F11 works very good if the lighting is decent. Plus I have a bunch of EF glass including the EF 300 F2.8 (v1) lens.
Coming from a Canon Apsc M series I won't recommend canon at all. First they left M mount camera to die. Second they're not allowing third party lenses, Third, a lot of different mounts just for one brand. I will change to sony mainly because of the versatility and the AI autofocus is definitely much better for me.
Tony, I bought Sony 6700 in October 2023, but returned it due to overheating problem even though I was only shooting photography.. I'm surprised you never mentioned the overheating problem of this new Sony 6700?
Great review! I personally dont understand this canon poor lens selection topic. Why you dont count EF selection, what is huge and they adapt almost perfect. For birding, I dont care some tammy 150-500, while with little extra i can buy EF 300mm f2,8 is1 used... For me this big plus for canon, sony shooters only has 200-600 and next step is already new big white lenses with big prices, 2000$- 10000$ range is empty.
That was in there so they could make the Sony look like the obvious choice. They seem to shamelessly punt certain products & will use laughable points to 'prove' one is better than the other
I've used both Sony and Canon mirrorless cameras for years and had great results with both but I've never had more than a couple of lenses for either at any one time. I'm not a pro but have sold many a picture for enough money to buy my next camera and lens and, again, have done so with either platform. I'm not sure even many pros realize how good even an average camera today really is. We've been so spoiled for choice that it's come down to a game of pretentious nitpicking. For me the ability to use third party lenses is important and if I've ever had a real issue with any camera it's been with low light so those are pros for the Sony for me. Dual card slots have never mattered to me and frame rates are close enough to not matter as well. Colors have always seemed more natural to me on Sony cameras as well so for me if I were paying I'd buy the Sony. But if someone were to give me the R7 I'd be perfectly happy. The real kicker though is that a couple of times a year The A7III is going on sale for around $1500 and, of course, as you mentioned, Canon has the R8 for virtually the same price as the R7. Soooo, for me I'd wait for the sale on the Sony or buy the R8 and just go full frame and be done with it. Actually, that's what I did.
Thank you for the comparison. I am currently owe a Sony A6000 and have some lense, but I really want to upgrade. I was debating between the Sony A7C ii or A6700 ? Also noticed the full frame Lenes are so much more expensive. I only use my cameras for family and one in a blue a gig or two. Is the low light a big difference between both? Thanks
How is the EVF blackout and lag - is there any improvement there, presumably it is still barely usable for tracking fast action ? It's hard to believe Sony still haven't produced a stacked-sensor version or at least been able to match the Canon non-stacked sensor readout speeds.

@TonyAndChelsea : or A Photography Enthusiast and New Camera Buyer point of view detailed comparison between Fuji XS20 and Sony 6700 or Canon R7 would be appreciable.
Yeah, the Sony a6700 is a beast and can do almost everything a lot better than previous a6xxx cameras, but does everyone need the 6700. The answer is no. Most people will never master the a6100 and spending $1400 plus tax for the body only is IMO, a waste of $$ for most people. Most would be far better served by buying a like new Sony a6100 from KEH or MPB for $650 and spend the difference on glass like the Sigma 16mm,30mm or 85mm f/1.4, etc. Additionally if you want the latest, I would certainly look at the Canon R7 which is the same price as the Sony a6700.
I agree with you 100%. Camera company’s are looking to sell you cameras, (whether you really need it or not…not their problem). Many will buy the a6700 and not even use everything they are paying for. Honest reviewers will tell you there is an indistinguishable difference in photo quality from the a6000 to the latest and greatest a6700. Unless you are a video shooter, the new features of the a6700 (10 bit, 4k 60, better handheld stabilization), may be good to play with but are not going to largely benefit you. Auto focus is better in tests, but in the real world the previous models may be good enough. As is the case with overall previous generations it can be good enough, (and cheaper).
How do you count sharps and unsharps in the running test ? I have tested the A6700 with the 2.8 70 200 GM2. On static subjects, the pics are sharp up to 170% magnification. On runners coming towards the camera, bright sunlight, 1/2500 s and faster, about 3% are fully sharp, most are sharp up to 100%. I would count only 3% sharp, to be compared to your 83%.
do you think or you know if CFExpress cards are more reliable? I just had a SD brick on me. Luckily I was using a two card camera (FX30) and no data was lost. but are CFEpress more robust?
The only reason I carry a Sony cropped sensor camera is for travel and portability. I prefer the Full Frame factor for serious photography and actual gigs. Travel and second body uses is where the far more compact rangefinder style Sony blows Canon away. No mention here of how the Sony fits in pockets and waist packs.
Being left-eyed dominant, my nose would always be square in the middle of the LCD screen on the Sony. I trust that others enjoy their dominant-eye privilege!
on rolling shutter, can you elaborate on what you were measuring? DPreview & Gerald Undone got closer to 16 ms, though said it varies depending on mode.

Thanks. About stabilization, I get your point of evaluating a % below the reciprical rule. However, it would have been interresting to to the same without stabilisation at all. And when you'll evaluate the XS20, please try youy best to check that with close experimental settings.
I thought I didn't care about 2 memory slots, until I got my fx30 and now I am always less stressed and that is worth a lot. So at the end a6700 would be a great photo go to with video B cam for my fx30
The Canon R7 is tiny, smaller doesn't = better ergonomics. If you can't take the miniscule weight of almost any modern mirrorless camera you need to hit the gym.

Atmospheric effect of course will ruin any photos taken by any gears. The mp difference doesn't matter. But you should see the difference between 32 mp and 26 mp when subject is taken up close without the heat simmer.
Cropping full frame as you say is common for wildlife. That's why I chose Olympus micro 4/3 with IBS and a 1990s Nikon 300 f2.8 and f4 version giving effectively 600mm f5.6 on the 2.8. And let me say it's a real challange focusing, but on my budget with tripod its dooable (eventually!)

I got back in to photography about a year ago and would have considered canon. However, their choice to kill support for 3rd party lenses totally turned me off them all together, regardless of how good they might be.
I picked up an a6400 instead and plan to pick up a full frame sony at some point down the line.
Me too
This is the best Sony camera promotion channel on TH-cam! Kudos!
Great video guys, thanks for the comparison. I have the 6600 and in general I'm super happy with the photography side but I'm thinking moving to the 6700 for the video improvements.
I can only say, do it!😀
16:07 the a6600 should be able to have the screen flip up, for selfie shooting/video.
You're right, my mistake. I never really considered the flip-up screen to be usable because it's hidden behind the mic in the hot shoe.
@@TonyAndChelseaA hot shoe mount that off sets the accessories to the side can unobstruct the view.
The a6700 does have better video features but if you don’t care about that…
One card slot is a dealbreaker and is the best reason for me to go with a competitor.
What cameras have you seen in this price range offering two memory card slots?

As an a6500 owner and hobbyist, the a6700 would be a nice upgrade. Thanks for the video.
Agreed. I have been waiting for something like this with all the performance upgrades with a newer sensor.
More like side grade. You upgrade to full frame from apsc. Not another apsc.
@@truthseeker6804 /facepalm
Just another APSC camera with limited improvement. I sort of expect a bit more from Sony on this model like faster frame rate more than just 1 more frame per sec. Seriously my old A7R4 can also shoot in APSC mode with 26mp.
All you need for the Canon R7 is EF-RF adaptor and you can use the vast array of EF lenses , Canon and others that are available. I have done that on my R7
so far, that is the compelling reason for me to stay w/ Canon.
Autofocus works as well as native with that adaptor?

@@ElMeach yes even with 2x converter on my 500 f 4.5. Af also works with 3rd party lenses
Nice comprehensive review and comparisons!
Appreciate you guys for comparing A6600 vs A6700.
Interestingly enough the A6700 is slightly lighter than the A6600 but maybe a tad larger.
@@johnnorton5760 Ooooo good to know. I'll have to find a store with it and handle it a bit. Also Arthur R has a great review of it.
Another vlogger showed that the a6700 at 506 g is 9 g (0.3 oz) lighter than the a6600 - body only.
@@panhandlejake6200 Thanks so much!
sony 6700 lost two important modes for travel photo: HDR photo and MFNR (Multi Frame Noise Reduction). Also a6600 better at low light condition than a6700. So a6600 is better for photo and amateur video.
How is the high iso performance in stills with the a6700?
Thank you for the informative and helpful comparison video! As always very useful! Keep creating!
19:25 honest question: what are the unique, specialty or niche, or generally just super high quality lenses for APS-C E-mount?
Canon R7! just bought one, thanks for your share. What kind of filter will be better? Kase or Nisi?
I'm looking to upgrading from my a6400 to the a6700 love this video
I have the full frame Sony A7R IV and I'm seriously considering buying g the A6700 as a second body. Reasons: 1- I can use my existing quality full frame glass, unlike Nikon or Canon. 2- The smaller body is ideal for Street Photography and Travel.
I do a lot of event photography, so having these two cameras with me and the A6700 sporting a 16-35mm lens (full frame equivalent of 24-50mm) will be an ideal set up.
Sigma 16-35mm and 50-100mm f/1.8.
Tony, How about used A9 + TC 1.4x for wildlife vs A6700? i Have mine for 1500 US with just 100k shutter count.
Brilliant!!! absolutely brilliant solution.
Beautiful comparison
I’m not that unique and would buy the APS-C camera for it’s smaller size and weight for travel when I leave my full frame setup at home. For me the large array of small lenses available for Sony E mount is a clear win. I actually own both a Canon EOS R5 and Sony A1 and for the Canon R5 I don’t have a single RF L lens that is nice and small for light travel. With Sony there are many including the full array of Sigma I-Series from 17mm to 90mm that work both on FF and APS-C.
Thank you for your review.
As always, you are amazing! Straight to the point.
Great review as always. Is Sigma not producing 2 APSC lenses for Canon RF mount soon?
There was a rumor about that but nothing solid yet. I hope so!
An eye opener guys, great review ❤❤
I've never been a fan of your video style but this video has turned me around. I really enjoyed your real world approach and obvious shared love of the art. I'm a convert. Maybe i never paid enough attention in the past but i will in future.
Very confusing what you said about Canon R7 and 3rd party lenses. So is EF sigman lens with adapter no longer working?
It works just fine... seems that there is a lot of Canon hate going around.
I have a R7 and my sigma 150-600 C and 17-70 OS HSM do pluse a lot. Though a firmware update via the Dock and some tweaks in the 150-690C settings and R7 sorted 95% of the issue.
@@tysonator5433 That Sigma pulses on a lot of cameras, good that you were able to get it resolved 95%...
I agree. They compliment each other well
Would you recommend 6700 / R7 / Nikon z6 ii for sports photography?
The lens cost point breaks down when you factor in adapting all the now cheap used EF/EFS glass thats availble. Also with adapted glass you can use the adapters to get a range of effective focal lenghts with 1 lens. I use a basic canon EF to RF adapter, a speed booster and 1.4 EF teleconverter to get 4 effective focal lenghts from one lens. The plain canon adapted lens, speed boosted lens, adapted lens w the TC and the speed boosted lens with the TC.
What is a speed booster?
@TimOHea it's basically the inverse of a teleconverter.
I was able to find a voightlander 40 mm prime with an RF mount and there are plenty of Zeiss primes with EF mounts. Found 1 of each for less than 1 K. Waiting for sales. Haven’t tried on crop sensor but love on FF R8. I think there will be a lot of RF third party primes coming out
Canon R8 has no IBIS and is a very different kind of camera, why not compare to something that's more an obvious comparison like the X-S20??
They are comparing to R7 not R8
The R8 is Canon's current entry level full frame camera, and its hands down the best entry level full frame camera, in part because it takes the abilities of the R6 Mark 2, and puts it in a prosumer body (smaller battery, 1 card slot, et al).
Sony needed to beat the R7, or at least match it... it didn't... the only strength Sony clearly has is lens selection...
Because xs20 cannot compete
May I ask which one has the most accurate colours?
Loved this review. I was tempted with the zve10ii. But after watching some vids. And with the weather sealing and IBS. A6700 it is.
5:10 Chelsea you said “I also thought my viewfinder was a little clear“, please provide more info. Thanks for the great videos.
Great review! I am excited for you to review the Sony A7C II and see how it compares. :)
How would the a6700 stack up against the a7c? I’m in the market for either of the two but am torn in between the decision of knowing what to get.
The a6700 has better AF but a smaller sensor.
I think you guys have reviewed both cameras, the Sony a6700 and the Lumix S5ii. Which one for product photography?
Which lens were you using on the a6700 for the run test?
The af looks pretty impressive, the stabilization looks good, the no crop 4k 60 is a big plus, the auto framing option is pretty interesting, and the screen being able to flip to the side and rotate forward is very nice.
I do more photography than video, so i probably will wait on the upgrade but if you do a lot of video i think there is actually some big improvements here. (This is coming from an a6400 user)
Why not upgrade to a7r4
@zegzbrutal one is 2x the price of the other, my lenses are mainly aps-c, and I prefer a smaller body and leses. Full frame isn't really an upgrade for everyone, just as medium format isn't always an upgrade to full frame.
@@jared3622 depends where you are, but a7r4 dropped a lot from MSRP, some places is even cheaper than FX30. And if you don't mind used, good~mint condition a7r4/a7r4a is a better buy over a6700.
Getting it and use its crop mode only is no loss. The much better EVF, control layout and dual SD slots are worth it.
All 4K modes in A6700 have crop (its oversampled from 6K, but sensor has 6.2K) Its ends up 1.6x crop, same as Canon.
Its minimal, but its there.
Sony a6700 with Sony 70-350 for wildlife, Sigma 18-50 f2.8 for everyday and street, Sigma 56mm 1.4 for portraits.
you cant beat this with any system based on weight to performance ratio.
Usually - the EF(S) lenses perform wayyyy better on the mirrorlens cams conpared to the good old DSLr‘s
@@irciiskylp9975 fantastic to know, thanks!
Had R7. Sold it because AF.
@@gfxmaniac that's not good to hear 😒
@@Berry_N I was early adopter of Canon R7. Here is list of the things I didn't like about R7.
- shutter shock
-AF hunting even with RF 100-400, sometimes you had to peek AF in EVF, cause I got AF confirmation it is locked on subject, but I had to pump that AF-ON button to see it is focused (this was biggest drawback of this camera), this problem is not that big of a deal if subject if filling the frame or contrast is good
-32mpix sensor is just too much for normal user, details got crushed in shadows which was critical for my work (I shoot in woods) so sometimes I feel FF would be better solution but FF is not ideal for wildlife on budget and reach
Still think ergonomics of R7 are great, battery life is great too. Dual card slots, button customizations, EVF, screen great. It was tough decision to part with it but I just might buy A6700, still have A6100 which has great sensor much better for shadow recovery than R7 and more details in general since 24mpix doesn't resolve lens flaws.
This or xs20?
No Brainerd a6700
How can you forget the xh2 or s variant?
I have the R7 and am debating between the R6 MKII or the R8 for the full frame upgrade. As for RF glass, I love the RF 18-150 even though it is no0t an L glass lens. I also love the RF 100-400, even though it is not an APS-C lens. The RF600 F11 works very good if the lighting is decent. Plus I have a bunch of EF glass including the EF 300 F2.8 (v1) lens.
So great review
Just got mine. Coming from an a6500 that I’ve had for 5 years, the a6700 is a giant upgrade for me.
I’m considering to buy an a6700; are you serious, is it really that bad?
Sir can you make a comparison between Sony a6700 & Fujifilm XS20...
Trying to find which lens you used at Rocky Neck State Park, can't find it. The big one.
For either of these are there aspc lenses that have an aperture ring on the lense?
what do you mean you can use 3rd party lenses on the canon with the ef adpater. also they just released the RF mount to 3rd parties too.
Hello, thank you for the video. Is the A6700 apt for wildlife filming using a telephoto lens? I'll be using it for wildlife documentary basically. Thank you!
My A6700 arrived just 4 days ago. Forget the tiny red recording button. Pressing it forces the eyes off the subject. The video record button can be remaoped to thr big main shutter button and used for both.
About to get the small rig cage for it, the Cimeback ridgid pro v mount .
As for monitor i have no need as i use my Xperia 1 V phone as the monitor./ Controller Via Sony Creators app.
The a6700 is THE best hybrid camera. It has both Mechanical and electronic shutter.
For me the a6700 is the winner.
when you put it in any Mode bird animal human etc to the right is an arrow if you go into that sub menu you can Taylor it to do a lot more things.. head body head only how " sticky" etc etc
Could I not just use the Canon full frame lenses for the R7?
Why is no one including the X-T5/X-H2(s) in their APS-C comparisons with the A6700 ? Please tell me, aren't they the current pinacle for APS-C ?
How do you count sharps and unsharps in the running test ?
I have tested the A6700 with the 2.8 70 200 GM2. On static subjects, the pics are sharp up to 170% magnification. On runners coming towards the camera, bright sunlight, 1/2500 s and faster, about 3% are fully sharp, most are sharp up to 100%. I would count only 3% sharp, to be compared to your 83%.
Would you prefer a canon R8 or a a6700 ? I would love to know what you think since they are similarly priced❤
@5:44 main factor reducing details resolved in R7 is its heavy AA filter
Yeah that seems to be the issue
No precapture on the Sony? Otherwise I think it’s a great camera.
do you think or you know if CFExpress cards are more reliable?
I just had a SD brick on me. Luckily I was using a two card camera (FX30) and no data was lost. but are CFEpress more robust?
We polled 23000 photographers and found card format didn't make a significant difference
Did canon solved the R7 focusing issue?
Question: Does the Sony a6700 have a Dedicated AF button on the back for "Back Button Focus"?
Sony mirrorless cameras use E-mount lenses, they will fit on both full frame and APSC so you have a much larger native lens pool.
You should check out the new a7C II and a7C R.
Is there evf blackout when shooting?
Hi Tony and Chelsea
I always had a canon DSLR throughout my life as an amateur. And i had used other 3rd party lenses too. Now im going to switc over to mirrorless. Was thinking of getting a canon R7 but as you mentioned in this vdo that Canon somehow is going to restrict using 3rd party lenses and canon lenses are really expensive. So what would suggest me to buy.. please help and advice

Didn't the video address that?
buy the r7 and have funi ts clearly the better camera here. just get EF lenses should work well. or the specific RF lenses you need.
You can use all those Canon DSLR lenses you already have with the R7 and an adapter. They work great. As well as they ever did on you DSLR.
So at the end a6700 would be a great photo go to with video B cam for my fx30
yeah! its nice that you can mess up 1 time without dying a horrible death. can you shoot to card and external over hdmo at the same time?
Isn't the Sony A6700 smaller and lighter than the Canon R7? To me that is a big factor that wasn't really discussed.
The Canon R7 is tiny, smaller doesn't = better ergonomics. If you can't take the miniscule weight of almost any modern mirrorless camera you need to hit the gym.
@@LukeBrownFigmentoFilms Very nice response indeed. Smaller/lighter kit is important for some of us who like to travel light and who recently developed arthritis in my hand. Maybe you should think before you type.
I still think that the M6 mk11 is the best APS C , could have done with it's own EVF. 32 mp.
I'm struggling to part with my M50 mk I and II - both are unreal especially for street and landscape
I use mine mainly for junior sports and it's awesome
Atmospheric effect of course will ruin any photos taken by any gears. The mp difference doesn't matter. But you should see the difference between 32 mp and 26 mp when subject is taken up close without the heat simmer.
why didnt you do walking ibis test?
Cropping full frame as you say is common for wildlife. That's why I chose Olympus micro 4/3 with IBS and a 1990s Nikon 300 f2.8 and f4 version giving effectively 600mm f5.6 on the 2.8. And let me say it's a real challange focusing, but on my budget with tripod its dooable (eventually!)
Again, they said they have failed memory card while filming the video... sounds familiar story, ehmm :).
Yeah we have a failure once or twice a year. We generate a lot of data though.
Chelsea, Tony i had seen where someone had said Sony auto focus was king, i was surprise the Canon beat the Sony.
Thank you for this test, especially the running section. It's very useful.
