Love and appreciate each one of y’all!! I’ll see you on the next video reaction!! - บันเทิง
Please react to more Dave! He's an incredible lyricist. I recommend his songs called Heart Attack and We're All Alone
I wondered if anyone else knew Dave he go hard.
Screwface capital >
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lesley >
Environment>
So I have a theory about this song that you guys may have missed. i could be wrong here, but i think the song is structured on the 5 Stages of Grief (aka the Kubler-Ross model)
The song starts with
DENIAL, the whole beginning of the song he talks about how he doesnt need saving, and doesnt need healing.
ANGER, The tone turns aggressive as he starts talking about how he'll "put shots in your frame" for criticizing him, how his gang run the streets, and they are the ones putting pressure
BARGAINING, the song suddenly turns upbeat, and Dave starts to talk about the kind of life he wants and deserves, how he has earned it, and is in a way owed that life,
DEPRESSION, then comes the inevitable crash straight into depression, and the music follows that crash as well, and he starts to talk about all his insecurities.
ACCEPTANCE, right at the end where he comes to terms with his past and there is a small resolution, he seems to drop the facade and get real.
Dave’s older brother went to prison when he was younger hence why his teachers would say he needs counselling and the struggles he went through. 3GS in the ring call me Alvarez is a double entendre being a reference to his friends in his circle (3 gs) and Golovkin (nickname GGG) and Alvarez who are 2 boxers that fought each other
As well as Canelo having 3 belts at the time, obviously he now has got all 4 and moving up a division but it was relevant at the time
I took it literally as in 3 grand spent on a ring
easy as the alphabet. and the Alvarez is A-Z, spelled out. not sure if that's too deep but it is dave after all.
@@JOHN-he3vy honestly there are so many ways to take Dave’s bars I wouldn’t be surprised if he intended all of them 😂 never even clocked that one before
@@Smarvinmartin yeah exactly haha, at first i thought he was pronouncing it a,z as the alphabet. Don’t know if that makes sense on text.
Dave was very clever with this record. The opening is sad and angry, quickly into a happy upbeat verse then back into sad and depressed. Shows the rollercoaster of emotions most people deal with on a daily basis
You could analyse about 95% of daves work like this he's a remarkably honest and frank young man who has insight way beyond his years. Plus his music is just genius. One of the greatest rappers ever.
its really good to see you cover dave. most of the US haven't heard any UK music at all
Thanks! Trying to spread out to others 😊👍
@@ReactionTherapyOfficial I'd love to hear your reactions to either Mic Righteous or Akala's Fire In The Booth sessions. Akala 1&4 are incredible. 3&4 for Mic Righteous.
The real heads in the US love the UK scene
Perhaps that is the case in specific genres like this (UK Rap), but many of the biggest selling acts of all time in America have been Brits. Pink Floyds "Dark Side of the Moon" was in the US Billboard Album charts for about 15 consecutive years!
Dave is a ridiculously talented and unique artist. The best switch, the mood change and the general flow is just ridiculous.
The "happy" beat that comes in at around 4:22 symbolizes a manic episode, then it goes back to depressive
“ 3 GS in the ring call me Alvarez “ He’s referencing the boxer, Triple G
This whole album is supposed to reflect a psychodrama therapy session. After and before each song the therapist comes back in asking questions and the songs are the response. The reason he did this is because his older brother got life in prison when he was 16 and part of his brother's sentence was psychodrama therapy
Dave is a mixture of bars and deep topics. Another great example could be Cadet who passed away but was a very underrated UK artist
Triple g and Alvarez is a boxing reference 😉
Love it that you're checking out UK artists like Dave. Here's some recommendations for more mental health related songs from Dave:
Dave - Both Sides of a Smile
Dave - Survivors Guilt
Here's some other mental health related songs:
CHVSE - Blackout (Official Music Video)
Good News - Mac Miller
Grand Finale - Mac Miller
DMX - Slippin
Lil Peep - Life is Beautiful
Lil Peep - The Way I see things
Love your channel keep it up man 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Basically any Dave song. He doesn't have many skips
@@elevenegos300 true but not all of them are mental health related exactly. Songs like Professor X by Dave wouldnt really be good for this guys channel if ygm. Also nice username season 4 on its way I cant wait 😁
@@gabrielrandall1028 I get you. Also, can't wait either 💯
@@elevenegos300 nice one :) have a great day 😁
@@gabrielrandall1028 it's night time for me but I will do so 😁👍
It’s a lot of fun watching you discover this kind of music and seeing how much you actually enjoy it. Glad you’re having a good time!
Thanks! What a great piece of music! Glad you enjoyed it😊👍
The whole album is a therapy session, from start to finish
Dave’s track Heart Attack is the most compelling story I think he has told on a beat or you can go look up his Be@tbox freestyle when he was 16 talking about everything from his childhood it’s a deep song and would be interesting to see your views on these songs
Great to hear a uk artist on here ❤️👍❤️👍
Thank you for doing a UK artist! I’m a fan from the UK and I’ve been watching since your first juice wrld video, I’d love to see you react to more Dave songs, especially “Lesley” it’s a very intense song but it touches on domestic abuse which I don’t think I’ve seen you react to yet, keep up the great work :)
Awesome take and recommendations, hopefully more Dave coming soon!😊👍
there’s so many of dave’s songs you could react to it’s mad
I found this guy yesterday with juice songs and now he's doing my favourite Dave 🙌
😂😊👍
I’m so happy you did Dave. Amazing on so many different angles musically, his life story and the level of introspection is unreal and his ability to tap in and out of the darkest parts of someone’s mind.
Thank you from the UK!
Great to see a perspective from a therapist.
The change in beat, flow and lyric topics is to represent different mood swings. Please do a deep dive into Dave’s music if you can, he is a complex person who has been through a lot in his life and really puts his energy and feelings into his music. A lot of people resonate with Dave and he is in my opinion one of the best lyricists in rap today. Great videos you have my sub!
Dave is a true poet and one of my favourite artists and I really enjoyed your breakdown of this piece 👏🏾 Thank you for opening your ears and mind
Three G’s in the ring, call me Alvarez is about 2 professional boxers who fought eachother. One goes by the name GGG or triple G and the other goes by Canelo as a nickname but his real name is Saul Alvarez.
Love from the UK. Been watching the reactions since you uploaded ur first Juice WRLD react but never did I expect you’d do Dave.
😂😂you never know what’s coming next!!??👍
Love seeing you branch out as well, hope you keep hitting artists I love haha
Thanks😊👍
What a great song, great choice!!! Keep it up you've gone up like 2k in a week or 2
Johnny Cash - Hurt, seems like a perfect song for you to react to, if you aren't familiar with it already.
So grateful for Dave content!! I love how much you love the music. Barmy is English (UK) slang for crazy. The English cricket fans are known as the Barmy Army because of their crazy antics. So it's just a play on that.
Nice Reaction! I hope you are going to cover more of Dave's music, he truly is a poet and a storyteller! Recommendations:
- Three Rivers
- Both Sides of a Smile
- Heart Attack
- Survivor's Guilt
Great reaction as always!
So pleased to see some Dave on the channel, he really is different, super talented lyricist!
I know you said you’re a ‘beginner’ but you’re catching on really quickly - Dave isn’t an easy artist to break down, especially if you’re not from the UK as the accent is quite strong, the slang words are different and Dave packs to much into his verses!
The whole Psycho-Drama album is supposed to be Dave talking to a therapist so really cool concept for you to react to!
His live performance of ‘Black’ from
The Brit Awards is outstanding, it’s be great if you checked it out. It’s very different - just Dave and a piano at first and the issues he raises and social commentary he speaks on are so important. The performance moves me to tears every time!
Oh, and ‘barmy’ in the UK means, like ‘crazy’ or ‘mental’ - UK slang! Lol!
Thanks so much Emma! That helps so much! Great to hear from you again!😊👍
Great reaction, one of the best I’ve seen! Could you please react to “Dave - Heart Attack”, great song and a lot to break down. Also Lesley by Dave
This has got to be the most wholesome reaction I’ve ever seen. He’s doesn’t even realise his body is feeling it without him knowing it
Hi sir, just to add another dimension. The beat switches is a reflection of his mood switches. And the stuff he says in that up tempo beat is exactly what u described that u was feeling. It was exactly that he was tryna make u feel.
“It’s like I’m happy for a moment then sad again”
I love this style of reaction! more UK artists please, i had to sub!
Great video!! Love your message and methods
Hey Tom, I've been watching your videos and they are all so insightful and entertaining! I would really love to see you react to some of Yungeen Ace music, he speaks a lot on his traumatic experiences and depression. "Pain", and "walk away" are great songs you could check out. I really think your videos are helpful to the fans cause a lot of us never heard an actual professional speak on some the topics in these songs. Keep up the great content and happy New Years!
Thanks so much!!!! Nice comments! And thanks for the recommendations! I have loved reacting!😊👍
Loved this song and reaction man I’ve been loving your videos recently keep it up. One of my favorite songs is trauma by NF and it has some really hard lyrics in it I would love to hear your dive into the depths of it. Another concept id like to see is you dive into stuff like some love songs and try to give incite into feelings like love and hope or sad love songs like ones by Lewis Capaldi or dean lewis.
Nice take, that’s a good idea!😊👍
Ur spreading love 💘 love u!
Great reaction ! such a young guy and pita whole new spin on the genre, he really is a different breed of artist, I agree with the others here try "heart attack! " Or "Lesley" if you would like a real shocker of the same album . Look forward too seeing more of you!
Thanks so much!👍
I’m so happy more people have found Dave. His songs are really really good. Another song on the album, Psychodrama, is a song called ‘Lesley’ it’s such a good song with such a deep and impactful meaning
Please react to "Name in the sand", "I" and "Breathe" by Lil Skies!
Please listen to “my 19th birthday”. It goes into Seth about his personal life and his experiences.
I never thought I'd be put onto music by a therapist but here we are. Great song selection, these videos are amazing
I recommend all of Daves stuff. He is as he said a hitmaker and he barely has any music I'd skip
Thank you! That’s a compliment! And thank you for watching😊👍
i'm loving these videos
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I’m glad you like them😊👍
I really enjoyed this reaction. Thank you
Great reaction! I love your reactions, love from The Netherlands!!
Ja toch
GEKOLONISEERD
Thanks Netherlands!!😊👍
Dave is my biggest inspiration ❤ ! I am a Psychotherapist that lives in his area and raising my kids there. Feel very proud of him!
thanks so much for listenting to my comment to react to this. one of my favourite songs
I was surprised to see this on my recommended lol more Dave please!
Hopefully soon! Thanks for watching!😊👍
Dave - Lesley
Dave - Environment
Dave - Drama
Thanks for making these videos! I recommend If I surrender- Citizen Soldier
Thanks so much, and thanks for the recommendation 👍
React to:
More Dave: two sides of a smile, we are all alone, heart attack
Trippie redd: Underwater flyzone, together, abandoned
Daves new project!!! and his old song panic attack is really good too
wew, interesting channel.
Geto Boys - Mind playing tricks on me'' is also a good interesting classic song to listen to.
Or
Viro the Virus - Heartless (Viro unfortunately actually killed himself, still one of the saddest songs I know, because of this fact. Still would like to hear your opinion about some of the lyrics)
Nas - Drunk by Myself
Dave is also a very interesting artist. He often talks about the stuff he's been dealing with in the past, or hints at PTSD, like in ''Panic Attack'', ''Heart Attack'' or ''My 19th Birthday''
I’ve recommendations, thanks for watching!😊👍
Seeing you fuck with the beat made my day
When you said it makes you happy that’s amazing because this song is basically him sat on the therapist couch going through all his emotions and that’s the bit where he is talking about things that make him happy
Great reaction, another great artist with a very difficult upbringing from the UK is Mic Righteous. Would love to see you react to Mic Righteous - 3rd Degree where he goes over his early life.
Love to see videos like this. But next time you listen to a UK song, I recommend listening with someone who can explain the slang used because there were so many punchlines missed that make this song so much deeper.
Really liked hearing your opinions on this though
No kidding, it’s especially hard when it’s the first time😂😂
Hey Tom Stevens! First time subscriber here! I found your channel in the TH-cam algorithm, as I was watching something else. Say that you went in-depth in the lyrics of some of my favorite emo-rap artists, and thought I’d get in the comments for some suggestions!
My first suggestion is Hotel in Sydney by Hopsin
My Second is Never Be Alright By Seon
Third is Smile by Yellopain and Keedron Bryant
Fourth is Scars on My Heart by Powfu and SadBoyProlific
And the fifth one is Mental Issues by Sik World
Much love for the videos! I’m still going through your TH-cam channel, watching and liking all your videos! Keep it up man!
Awesome, got the list and thanks for watching😊👍
Great video! Dave is so good
New sub because of Dave.. real talk, you should do more Dave, he's a storytelling realness.. plenty to recommend but I'd suggest Lesley, that track might actually give you something to explain your expertise
Thanks “Dave”😊 appreciate you subscribing and for watching and commenting. Lesley seems to be popular!👍
I didn’t know this existed. What a cool channel Im subscribing
Thanks For the Video ❤️😍
Great reaction, open minded and great vibes
Pls more Dave! Great reaction, Dave - My 19th birthday, Dave - heart attack
i know it might be hard for you with the london slang but dave genuinely is one of the best writers ive ever heard. he has a lot of deep and introspective songs. "were all alone" or "heart attack" are from his new album and are both amazing. you should check them out
I would recommend listening while reading the annotations on Rap Genius. And then do a Re:Reaction. Because there's a lot of great things you're missing. For example..Chro is weed he was hiding in a drink of rubicon(a drink in the uk ). He want to school with rich kids and was selling them drugs to feed himself
Dave- We're all alone .. is an amazing song, the intro song from his most recent album.
Please finish this album and the new album too they are incredible musically and lyrically
i also recommend my 19th birthday by dave, he made this song when he was 19, and he says there a lot of stuff
also heart attack which is from his new album
Lesley by Dave is an incredible song listen to the end the vocals are angelic!
Yes bro keep the Dave coming
Love this 🙌🏻
btw this is the intro song to pyschodrama. the therapist at the start of the songs appears throughout the album. even if you dont react to it on video its worth a listen
Love this!
Id recommend dizzee rascal - Sittin here, if you wanna explore grime
Great video, helps understand what these artists are about. Should take a look at Lil Peep - Life Is Beautiful some time, I think it would be a good song to analyze :)
love this!
Thanks so much!😊👍
Wow the beat was showing his range of emotions can't believe I never noticed that
Excellent writer Dave is. Tough for you with the UK lingo. The crow in a Rubicon was a great bar, food is slang for weed. They were hiding weed in the Rubicon juicebox to sell it. That's how they put their food in the fridge.
Really hope you listen to heart attack. It's an extremely powerful stream of consciousness.
Black is another great one, a UK man's take on the racial climate.
Good video man, thanks!
It’s interesting when I’m also listening to these artists for the first term properly with you 😂 I usually half listen if a song like this comes on the readio or on Spotify. But it’s fun analysing the meaning of some of those lyrics 😂 it does some exhausting though 😂
Challenging but fun!!😊👍
I’d love for you to check out “my fault” but juice Wrld, he dives deep in his feelings on this song
You should react to Screwface Capital by Dave. It's a great song
React to RJ by conscience, its about his childhood and how nobody knows him as a person but just like an artist. Its such a deep song! I love your video's you Seem like a very Nice guy
Thank you for the recommendation and compliment😊👍
OMG I DIDNT KNOW YOU DID THIS
Talking about the beat making you happy, have you always been a fan of rap or is it a more recent thing?
Old school rap…run DMC!!😂😂
i‘d recommend reacting to jake hill's „we die too“
Please Please react to Tones and I Dark Waters!!! You will not be disappointed. As a person who has been in therapy most of my life, you get it and it's so nice to see music integrated with your therapuetic insight. I just started sending music to my therapist and it has helped open up conversations! 💯♥️👍
Awesome story! Thanks for that😊👍
I think you would love to react to G Herbo featuring Juice Wrld "PTSD". And as always keep blessing us with this great reactions. :)
Dave is awesome. You should check out Dave Lesley and Dave heart attack or panic attack
You should definitely try Make believe by Juice wrld. And I'm loving the content keep up the good work doc
Thank you so much for the compliment 😊👍
he really started feeling it when the beat dropped 🤣🔥 dave does that to people
these videos are really good. I recommend reacting to lean wit me by Juice Wrld. The video to that is also really good in my opinion
Came out today!!!!!’n😁😁😁
You should definitely check out more dave songs. In future perhaps you could use something like urbandictionary to try and use that to get a better grasp. There are some very niche words and phrases used in his songs that would go over the head of most English people.
you should listen to ‘lesley’ by dave - it’s unbelievably touching and never fails to give me goosebumps
Great video 👍
Thank you!😊
this is goooooooold keep it up
Pls do some more uk have so many genres and artists you can look into seeing as you haven’t seen much yet
Dave is an amazing lyricist. He speaks from the heart. Psychodrama is an amazing album. Id also recommend Panic Attack.
Also Drama! Amazing song. He actually has a conversation with his brother who is in prison.
