I have drooled over Viking yachts since I was a young 8 year old and one came to Somers Point Yacht Club, where we kept our Trojan, in about 1975. The boat’s name was Nandrik and I fell in love. The owner gave me a tour & I was awestruck. Now at 58, nothing has changed & every time one passes me, I drool. While I can’t afford a new one, an early 2000s 43 is my target! Congrats on 60 years of mastery to the Viking family!
Hi Tom. I found myself on the Ocean City Yacht Club dock in 1982 or so for some weigh in when I was 12 years old. Some nice man let me on his Viking 48. At the time it was massive. Thought about one everyday since. Started talking seriously with Dad about 10 years ago. Grew up at the Jersey shore with him on 20' outboards. Going to buy a used Viking 48 in FL, run it up to RI, and work on it and fish it all the time. A few months later he got cancer and died. He was my best buddy - taught me everything. I waited to long. Bought a 2005 48 about 6 years ago. Amazing. Lots of firsts with my kids and friends. Spent too much, didn't know what i was doing. But every time I turn press those start buttons, I get goose bumps, feel like a little kid and miss my Dad. Don't wait. Just do it. Congrats Healey's and Viking...
Nicely done Pat! What most people don’t know about Viking is that despite their incredible success, they continue to operate like a company who will fail if they don’t push the envelope. They are constantly spending money on developing new models. I say they operate like a company with something to prove. Its a winning mindset.
Such a great boat simple look but the most beautiful. Staple of fishing and luxury boating. The fact two name brands of jersey coats darkfall and Viking yachts teamed up makes me happy love the video. Happy 60th
What a Great Story to tell. It's no wonder Viking is at the top of this industry. When I was growing up, all you heard about was Hatteras and Bertram and of course Rybovich. Keep up the Great Work and God Bless!
