  • Looking back at the 2023 MLB season is great. Viewing all the highlights and the fantastic seasons for some of the game's superstars. Ronald Acuna continued his domination of the seemingly easy sport for him. However, with all the rule changes we saw, was his incredible season as historic as it has been made out to be? Let's see.

Its definitely not as impressive because he did it with all the dumb new rules, but still it's an amazing season. Maybe with the more traditional baseball ruleset, he might've put up "smaller" numbers on the base paths, but hes still a 40/40 type of hitter which is amazing.
Also, I love your take on the new rules. I grew up watching baseball back in 2006 and man the game has changed SO much in such a short timespan. You can't bean people anymore? Take out a catcher? Breakup a double play with a slide? Pitchers can't hold a runner? Batters can't take a break between pitches? I mean.... Why?!?!
All this accomodation is retarded... When you come to baseball, you don't try and modernize it. The game is almost 200 years old. Leave jt as is or go play basketball...
Also the shift is beatable... Just bunt it past the pitcher.... Players just don't want to bunt because that's 1940's baseball.....
I'm not of the mindset of "more runs= better baseball". Some of the geeatest games ive ever seen were intense pitching duels. How did Ricky Henderson steal a million bases without all these stupid rules helping him? Or even players like Jose Reyes who had like 70 one season too? Stealing a base is simply a lost art that needs to be rediscovered. Changing the rules to helps baserunners steal more is bullshit.
