What makes the Phillies and Yankees so Good Right Now?
Hey everyone, thanks for tuning in. I don't think anyone expected these two teams to be on top of the league this year, so why is that the case? Let me explain in this video. Be sure to subscribe and check out my other videos.

Unfortunately, Ronald Acuna is injured again. It really is ashame we keep getting robbed of seeing this guy play, because he is without a doubt a generational talent. Wishing him nothing but the best, hopefully he'll come back stronger than ever.

Was Ronald Acuna's 40/70 REALLY that Impressive?

Looking back at the 2023 MLB season is great. Viewing all the highlights and the fantastic seasons for some of the game's superstars. Ronald Acuna continued his domination of the seemingly easy sport for him. However, with all the rule changes we saw, was his incredible season as historic as it has been made out to be? Let's see. I know it's been a while, and there are reasons for that. But I'm back, and hopefully to stay. I definitely won't be able to upload every day, but I'm hoping to be able to upload twice a week. Thank you all for your patience and support! Btw I'm working on getting a better microphone, so stay tuned for that. It won't always sound this bad. TH-cam made me trim out Greg Maddux at number 6.

Those are great pitchers but I don’t agree on some of them you don’t have years decades and it’s just not enough of substance
Definitely in the conversation! It's hard to think of anyone better.
Great video, brings back a lot of memories. I think it depends on our ages and how long we have been watching. I can think of quite a few that a case could be made for a spot. Mike Scott in Game 1 of the 1986 NLCS. Jack Morris in 91 Greg Maddux throwing less than 80 pitches for a complete game. It was like 76 or 78 or something insane like that. Jim Abbots No No I can't remember exactly what these others did but I know they did something special. Dwight Gooden Fernando Valenzuela Jim Deshaies Dave Stewart Brett Saberhagen Dennis Martinez David Cone Orel Hershiser Sandy Koufax Jason Schmidt in the Allstar game Madison Baumgartner Tom Glavin Tim Wakefield Jesse Oroscoe Sid Fernandez Jose Rijo Curt Schilling Of course I know we can't have everyone but there are so many performances that we just don't need to forget. Great video.
Showing players that used performance enhancing substances set records is not good
What about Harvey Haddix 12 perfect innings in a game between the Pirates and Milwaukee Braves in 1959? He lost the game in the 13th on an error by Pirates 3rd baseman Don Hoak and a running error by Milwakee baserunner Joe Adcock. In many fans minds, this was the single greatest pitching performance ever.
THE RYAN EXPRESS IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE PITCHER ! # 34
This is so ridiculously arbitrary. How is Harvey Haddix's 12 inning perfect game not number one, let alone even on the list? Where are Koufax and Maddux? What about Ed Reulbach's double header shutout? Whoever compiled this knows nothing about baseball, just strikeouts.
The most impressive throw on this video in my opinion, is the Bo Jackson throw
Jim Catfish Hunter’s perfect game in 1968. He also had 3 hits and 3 RBIs.
Man, Dave Parker's throw was an absolute laser beam. But Ichiro... damn... that guy could really do it all.
At the end, an announcer notes Clemente and Kaline are known as the best right field weapons. But no Kaline highlight is shown! Too bad, because he was magical playing a carom off Tiger Stadium's right field wall.
All great, but as far as simply the most dominating stuff, Kerry's 20 Ks is it. There were a couple pitches that looked like a righty throwing a mid to upper 90's two seem screwball. The movement on it just looked impossible.
Pedro Johnson Clemens Maddux Koufax Honorable mentions: Seaver Walter Johnson Kershaw Gibson Carlton Ryan
No Clayton kershaw is crazy bro
These fucking cameramen…just outstanding work 🏆😎🤘🏻
How about the Pirate who had a perfect game for something like12 innings???
Clemente was an icon, great player. We had another great throw here recently 2024 WS with Teoscars throw to the plate.
I've been watching baseball for 55 years and I STILL have no idea what that 'lane' is halfway to first base. I"ve seen several plays like this where the runner isn't in that lane but is called safe when the ball either hits him or is thrown off target.
Bo should’ve been on there twice
Should've saved the Jackson one for last and actually shown how he threw it. He fielded it turned and threw it. I don't think he even took a step, other than with his leading foot
What about Clemens second 20 strikeout game
Bob Gibson had seen the Tigers scouting report on him, which highlighted his fastball. In the 17 strikeout game Gibson rarely used his fastball and got most of the strikeouts with his slider.
In 1917 Ernie Shore came in after Babe Ruth was ejected after the first batter reached base. That runner was caught stealing and Shore retired 26 straight
Correction; Nolan Ryan won the World Series with the 69 Mets!!
As far as I’m concerned, you could put Dave Parker in all ten. In his prime in 1979 - 81, he would catch fly balls at the warning track and runners at third would not dare run home. That’s how scared they were of his arm. He had a cannon I’ve never seen since. That clip of him they showed was from the 1981 All-Star Game. Parker was unbielievable. I think it’s a travesty that he’s not in the HOF.
Harry Wendelstedt RIP one of the best refs in the game
So if there is no video then I guess you don’t make the top 10.. a top performance is it a game, a season or a career? Ryan’s 7 no hitters is a great feat…for a career…but they were 7 different individual performances…..By definition all top 10 pitching performances should be a perfect game.. Larson’s should be at the top as it was thrown in the Workd Series m. Within the perfect games thrown one could highlight the fewest pitches thrown or most strikeouts……Guidry’s 18 strikeouts in 1978 I would include…if we were just taking strikeouts….
What about Tom Glavine and his one hit world series performance against the Cleveland Indians
Where’s Denny McClains 31st win???
I swear, I've seen more amazing catches off of Big Papi's bat than any other player. Stolen hits from him could be a highlight reel all his own.
I am a LA Dodger fan, but how can you not put Mad Bum's 2014 in? Yeah I get it you are talking about one game, but come on! What Mad Bum did in the entire 2014 playoff, he deserved to at least be in top 10. He pitched against the Royals for 21 innings and only give up 1 run, that's hellacious. You have to put Mad Bum in.
I miss the Expos
The three Yankee errors in game 5 should be 1-2-3 of all time.
I’m a new sub and I play MLB the show a lot and I use Mario Mariana Rivera and I was wondering why the cutter was his main pitch and nobody could hit it😂 at least it’s just a dominant pitch for him
How can you have a "top 10" list without Sandy Kofax???
At least Canseco could laugh it off and not take it too seriously.
We all love Ichiro. But that catch is not even in the top 500 catches of all-time
Misinformation much, 😂😂😂😂😂?????
Terrible list. Anyone ever hear about a bloody sock ?
4 of these came in coors field where the ball travels further because of thin air. All amazing throws but tho
You forgot about Joe Ferguson stepping in front of Jimmy Wynn in the 1974 World Series on a sac fly to throw to get the runner out at home.
I wish they had footage of Jim Wynn at Candlestick, firing a shot from the track in right center to the plate on the fly, nailing a Giant runner trying to score. Willie Mays called it the greatest throw he had ever seen.
CLEMENTE WAS THE BEST BAR NONE IN RIGHT FIELD YOU BETTER NOT TRY TO GET HOME ON CLEMNTE WAS HE HAD A RIFLE OF AN ARM LOVED WHEN BOB PRINCE CALLED PIRATES GAMES HE LOVED CLEMENTE,CLEMENTE WAS EXCELLENT HITTER AND FIELDER WE LOST HIM TO SOON
I think Curt Schilling's start in Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS deserves a mention, where his ankle was seeping blood throughout his performance. He was immense that night.
Several throws way better than those represented
Who was charged with the error? in that A Rod / Jeter Pop-fly play 4:58
Lol why are most of the runners getting thrown out Rockies?
How could you go to sleep and not suffer nightmares after you made such an atrocious error that costs your team a precious game...?? I would not like to be in the skin of one of these players....
Rockies need to stop stretching triples 😅
God And Jesus Will Always Love You.
