I had a pitbull mix for 13 years(since I was born) but we’ve had her in the family for about 15 and we had to put her down because she could barely get up and it hurt her a to walk I also miss her because that would’ve been my first time living with out her 😢

Its also best to somehow secure the dog to the seat. So it can't fly through the windshield or seriously injure you and itself in an accident. This seatcover doesn't prevent this from happening

I have the same seat cover, and there are slits where you can clip in a dog seat belt to attach to their travel harness. The cover came with one but it didn't feel substantial enough for my German Shepherd, so I purchased a separate one. The cover is functioning well!

I have a $40 one that is water proof and super easy to clean very similar. Although the bottom isn't solid it still has side guards and a front seat guard and massive pockets. Can easily be stuffed in my trunk or under my seat and way cheaper than $100. Get what works for you, I have one messy border collie 😂

I was in a similar position a couple years ago. I have a $100 cover very very similar and it’s been a ✨miracle✨ for my three large dogs !!! We’re still rocking with the very same one years later ! I love to do a crib sheet on the seats under (bc I also am into cleaning my car extensively) and then since there’s hanging space behind the driver and passenger seats with the new cover, I picked up two hefty clear tubs and those are our two emergency kits (one car, one beauty) but double as a little extra weight bearing below! Worth it and happy for you and your pup, girl!!!
That’s a great cover. When we buy our new car I will need to remember to get this to go with it. Our dogs shed so much and their hairs are only 1” long so it’s damn near impossible to get it out of the seats and carpets.

In Sweden, you need to have your pets in a robust cage, so when in an accident, the pets are secured and don't projectile against the front. The cages can easily be decorated with bowls and stuff.
I was looking in the comments for this! I had my dog it the back and I got pull over and told I need a robust cage for my pet I can’t have her , just like that in the back or front.
In Germany you don't require a cage but the bate minimum is securing them like a seatbelt. My car does not allow for a cage so I have my dog on my back seat, secured with a short thingie that goes into the seatbelt slots and he has a harness while driving so he wouldn't break his neck

If the plastic backing is busted then anything wet or fine sand/dirt will seep through. Trust me I live on the beach and had to vacuum half the beach out of my car seat thinking the cover was catching it.
It's also leaving those plastic bits all over the fabric seats and when he's panting it will go through the fabric. I also give him water in the back after our runs (I hold the water bowl) and he makes a mess cause hes a messy drinker.
I have that!! I have a German shepherd puppy that’s already 60lbs at 6 months. He’s wild and does everything in the back seat. It has held up so nicely and helps clear my anxiety about him falling into the floorboard if I stop to hard by accident.
Thats actually a really good setup for a dog. Its basically those dog car seats but it turns the entire rear bench into a massive dog car seat. Genius actually. If i took my dog out more often id get one for my truck, she hates being limited to her seat unless i have her in the front middle seat so she can bother me the whole drive.
I have a hammock style one and just put their older but still stiff bottom bed in as a stabilizer. Works great! But this seems like a good option for when my set up eventually gives out. I especially like the side basket style pieces!
Ours doesn't have the hard bottom and isn't big enough to become a little bowl but it can be separated in the middle so that if you have a passenger in the back you can remove that part of the cover to reveal a clean seat while still having a cover space if you have the dog along aswell. I find that super handy. I'd love to have a mix of both tho so you have the middle part but also the hard bottom and the proper nest space
I can assure you that you got a really good car seat. My grandma actually has the same exact one for her dogs which one of them is an overweight chocolate lab, the car seat works well for her car.
This is the exact one we have! I don't think it was 100 bucks but it looks identical. I agree theyre great! The hammock makes them feel so much more secure. We pair it with some buckle-in leashes.
Have the same one and the only advice I would give is to not use the side hooks if your dog likes to look out of the window. Ours snapped after 2 weeks with our dogs trying to push them to the side. Still love it 100x more than the unsupported bottoms.
Mattress pad. I work at a hotel and we replaced all of our bedding I took the mattress pads and I found that they work great and last for multiple years.
I'd say given that it's intended more as a basket than a seat cover, thar it's not really a direct comparison to the $20 ones (i.e. different features = different price) but you can definitely tell the quality is there because it looks so sturdy and well-stitched. Is there any options for securing the dogs more? Although it looks awesome, being able to secure my dogs via harness/seatbelt is an absolute must to keep them safe in an accident so that would be a key criteria of mine for these. I'd love to see an update video later on how your dog travelled in it/how it held up

I've splurged and bought some expensive things for myself on occasion, calling them an investment so I wouldn't have to constantly buy cheaper replacements all the time bought a new winter jacket a few years back cause I was tired of having to wear multiple layers- canadian winters r frigid AF lol. so, spent $100 on a Canada-brand name winter jacket that goes down to my knees, heavy duty for the minus 30-50 degree weather and that was 10 years ago now, never had to bother with any other winter jacket~ investments are worth it- speaking from experience.

In the end it looks like cool big bed 🛌 to chill in ,you could add a blanket and toy and make it ultra cozy dog den for longer travels or vet appointments 😅❤. Based on how it looks and quality i think its a win especially if it will also last longer than the others and definitely make his travels more comfortable 🙂
There’s a cheap one for maybe $45 at Autozone. For the back seat, made of some sort of tougher fiber so ur dog can’t eat it up. We’ve had ours for about a year now, no rips tears or blemishes. Just hairy from the dog from time too time. 80ish pound German shepherd rides on it. Pretty easy too clean if you’re not wanting too spend $100 on this car cover 🙂
Got a similar one for $30ish off of Amazon. Still good 7 years later and I have an 80lb Aussie Pit. Material is so important when you have a big dog. Pretty sure the cutesy covers she got at TJ maxx were more for chihuahuas than dalmatians....
All that is left is a seatbelt harness for your dog! Because you don't want the equivalent of a small elephant hurling at you from the backseat in a potential crash, and you don't want to kill your dog in a crash, right??! 🤷🏻♂️
I got a really nice one from amazon that sounds a lot like that one except the downside are the velcro side flaps it was around $30 and its really sturdy ive washed it 5 times and have had it for a year

A wool blanket over a waterproof tarp (in case of accidents) work very well, we used them for our dogs for their whole lives.

I use resolve, I think large brush and a vacuum and it pulls it pull quickly. I just brush it over lightly. Long hair dog mom of multiple fur babies.

I got a really nice one from amazon that sounds a lot like that one except the downside are the velcro side flaps it was around $30 and its really sturdy ive washed it 5 times and have had it for a year
