Nice video ❤ About Tienda Inglesa : It was born in 1866 as a modest business located in the heart of the Old City of Montevideo, the old quarter of the Uruguayan capital. The establishment, founded by the English immigrant John Henderson together with some partners, originally sold both groceries and clothing and haberdashery products.
From he 1880s until the 1980s we used to have tons of "galerias" in 18 de Julio Avenue that had individual exclusive stores that sold most of what you find on a supermarket that don't have accesses in an "almacen" (of course all the dairy products you could find in "almacen" you could also find in Mercado del Puerto, Mercado Modelo and Mercado Agricola). I don't know if Australia or South Africa had these galleries but I know for a fact the USA did on the famed FIFTH Avenue and their heyday was from the 1920s up until the 1950s. Anyways these department stores usually had a huge central store elsewhere in the city. Tienda Inglesa was one of these big stores that had a gallery in 18 de Julio, Disco I know for a fact they had a big store but don't know if they had a galería. But the 1981 crash of the crawling began to put an end to thse. That's when Supermarkets began popping up. The first Supermarket chain was Ta-Ta in the early 80s I believe, then came Disco (which upon purchase by Devoto now includes Multiahorro) later on, and finally Tienda Inglesa in the early 90s if I recall correctly. By the mid to late 90s they were all over the place and all over the country as well.
yes thankyou! We looked up Tienda Inglesa and found out it started as a clothing store! we were shocked. but I wasn't sure the exact date it sort of swapped to a predominantly supermarket... crazy how much things have changed!

Hi, I'm American, I live in Uruguay, I fell in love with the country in an exchange, you look very happy here. Congratulations on the house!!!! Yes, there are many things in outskirts of the city. On Sundays there is a program called "Súbete a mi moto" that goes to parties, watch it. Best
It is nice to get facts and culture of a country correct before posting. The feria Tristan Narvaja started about 1909. Originally was an agricola market in Plaza Independencia.
well thankyou for the comment, i just asked my friends on the spot and didn't give them time to go and do any research so forgive us if it was SLIGHTLY wrong, :P
Masks as of ... I'm not sure exactly, but some time in April (basically the week before i filmed this video), are now completely optional! I was in an UBER and they were always very strict on masks, but since then, I have been in an uber without a face mask and no one said anything, the driver wasn't wearing one either! So no, they are not mandatory, but In busses or crowded places, or hospitals, I might still wear one for a little while longer!
BOOKS are windows to the world, WINDOWS 7 now vlogging even ALIEN used the platform MEN IN BLACK Matrix space age CONTROLLING the MINDSET isa hulmahan or pattern

It's nice to learn the history of shopping there. Would be cool to find out more about food culture. How they eat, how long, what and where😁
Nice video ❤

The "Nafta Energia" sign is not a German National Swastika, which is a mirror image. This is the original Sanskrit religious symbol.
👍
Such a cute video 🥰
Thank you 🤗
