Great 👍. But I hope that's a job I'm never going to have to tackle! Now to find Part 1...

I would love to see how the carb is hooked up.
Could you tell me if the throttle rod (+ spring) is hooked up to the BOTTOM of the governor arm, please?
Your carb looks like it might be the choke model (rather than the one with priming bulb). So its rod connector would hook up to the throttle control plate??? And its spring -- does that just stick in the same hole in the black plastic choke shaft lever as the rod? There is no slit in this lever like there is for the throttle lever.
I took loads (but never enough!) pics when dismantling old carb prior to putting on new one which arrived a few days ago. I got the machine started but it sounds like it's running on rocket 🚀fuel, and it won't slow down with the speed lever in tortoise position so I had to quickly shut it off. The machine is ex-demo, straight from a dealer (ten hours away), but I suspect it might have been in the hands of a young trainee... 😭I have the workshop manual (so-called) but, as usual, it ain't exactly clear.
If you (or someone) can help, I'd love to buy you a 🍸(PayPal).

JB, Ive just receieved your email -- 9 days later-- , thought it was personal si replied at length, but it was returned so trying here, c&p.
Paper sticker on engine, not engraved.
      CODE FJ180V-AC51-M
      E/NO FJ180VL53367
      and barcode.
      Manual choke.
I can't find this engine on English language or French language searches/sites.
The new carburettor I put on (35€ instead of 180 for genuine) fits ok though I had no reference visible on the original Walbro. Had surging, so gave it an ultrasonic at 60° for 20 mins if I remember correctly. No screws /jets accessible (brass plate block-off) other than from the bowl. Anyhow, I've used the beast for a coupla hours so it's much better but it still surges a tad and I have to let it warm up a bit before engaging blade a bit like my ancient, but marvellous Murray.
So, THANKS for your interest and your help JB.

Would be easier to just remove the engine and go to work bench 😊😊😊 unless you’re going to junk it

Is it really good to use those pliers on the crankshaft journal where the oil seal rides on the sealing surface of the crankshaft?

Pliers leave scratches on the sealing surface of that crankshaft journal , you do know that right?
