One of the most incredible pairings in modern media. They truly brought out the best in each other. A devastating loss.

Thanks, Don. He was a good friend and contributor to Dave’s shows.

Oddly enough, one of my first thoughts when I heard was, “I wonder which clip Don will choose...? There’s too many good ones!”
From Live! to Millionaire & beyond, what a truly legendary broadcaster Regis was & his Letterman appearances were always incredible. Thanks, as always, Don.

Impossible to imagine Letterman's shows without the omnipresent spirit and/or presence of Regis. For all his ribbing, u could tell Dave genuinely liked and respected him..and very few people could say that. RIP to Mr. New York City.

I’ve had the “it’s a *ferret* !” line in my head for years. It’s finally nice to get some closure as to its source!
Regis was also a great guest. I love how he and Dave always played off each other like an old married couple.

I went to this book signing but I didn't feel like waiting on line so I left right before they started filming. I actually wound up meeting Regis a few years later for a work related video. Nice guy and a total pro. R.I.P.

I remember at Ed Sullivan theater Dave would have a contest of guess which door Regis is behind, using those doors at the left side of the theater.

I'm not American, and only a couple of years ago I got to know Letterman and many of his guests. Thank you so much for your extensive work on this channel.
I nearly died when I saw Marv holding his papers just like Chris Elliott would do imitating him!
Regis and Dave, one of the best couples in comedy with Abbott and Costello, Jerry and Dean, Laurel and Hardy, Bread and Butter, Salt and Pepper, Ginger and Fred...
(not my joke, but it's not easy to find the right moment for it)

I just bought a copy of that first Late Night Top Ten Book a few weeks ago. Ended up buying the second one and both of the Late Show Top Ten books.

10:20 for the same reason I love the scene from the one viewer mail where he shows everyone what happens after the show and how he turns in for the night, I love this image of a tray or side table with keys, money, drink and etc. Just the sort of story it tells of small cozy living.

Dave mentions that the Top Ten book was published by Pocket Books......probably a coincidence, but you don't think Meg Parsont had anything to do with getting it published?

Ahhh, sex addict Marv.... or what ever his secret was to get him fired.. such a bad rug. Regis was so good with dave.. they worked off each other so well.. too bad they were not closer in age, i am sure they would have done something together on regular bases.
