- The US Mint raised the prices of their collectible silver Morgan Dollars and Peace Dollars over $15 from the price they charged last year. Did the US Mint end up making more money? Or did they tank their sales? I've got the official US Mint production numbers, and an unboxing of the two coins!

09:43 I’ve been running calculations like this and also concluded they lost millions in net revenue. The products were already overpriced even before the price hike.
The price increase backfired with less dollars coming in!
To raise the prices two days before this drop was sleazy
I cancelled all my subs after the price raise. Screw the greedy us mint.
Screw the greedy us mint.
Out of touch - Hall and Oates
Many dropped the subscriptions. The numbers fell a lot.
What is greed??? Aren't you also greedy? Don't be such a hypocrite.
Don’t forget…They told us 3 years ago inflation is “transitory.” 🇺🇸
Yellen: "Well, life is transitory. So it was true."
… flatten the curve!
Been stacking 10 years. Have never odered from the mint. Glad others are catching up. Never owned an overpriced iphone. Been boycotting Anheiser busch for so long cant remeber. Glad others are catching on
Vote with your dollars.
The US Mint never went 'Live at Budokan!'
That was the Mints BIG Mistake! If they could only sell to a screaming Japanese audience! Then Americans will follow! 😂
It's called killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.
Very true ! 🥚
US Mint. Listen to your money talk! Great analysis my friend. Valuable lesson to learn here.
Thanks Sal! The mint thought they had a great plan to make more money … totally backfired.
I'm not surprised by that result. I'm sure anyone who bought in 2024 appreciates the new packaging but is it worth the increased price? Looks like the US Mint got the answer to that question. Thanks, Silver Heist!
Many many collectors have said enough is enough. They are either grateful to have one (down from multiples) or have dropped the series all together.
Numbers way down, but still great coins.
The U. S mint started price gouging with all their coins, it's not right!!
Yes! Not just the Peace and Morgan Dollars. All the collectible coins have higher prices now.
Cancelled all my subscriptions. Totally done with the US Mint.
Last minute price increase was a mistake.
And it's not even a Troy ounce
Crazy! $15 extra dollars and not even an ounce.
Nobody is forced to buy for those prices, just be patient and wait for the decline on the secondary markets. Lucky me, my collection of U.S. coins and medals starts in the year 1802 and ends with the year 1947. 😉 Greets from GER, U.
Some of the best US coin designs are from before 1947. The classics!
They stabbed it with their steely knives and DID kill the beast
The mint killed the golden goose!
Glad to see I am not the only one to wise up and not fall for the grift. I lowered the amount of proof and reverse proofs also, only getting one of each and watching closely for their next move for 2025. May not even continue next year if they rise the price again. 🤔
One of each is more than enough.
Fantastic presentation!! Thank you!!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
I was enraged over this last price hike, cancelled all silver subscriptions at the US mint. Sucks as I was really looking forward to seeing these coins.
You are not alone in canceling. They are nice coins so it’s a tough call.
Thats what they get for doing that!!!
@@betod3113 it does serve them right.
Yes they did. I had a friend here who wanted me to get him one of each, but after I gave him the price he didn't bother getting me to order them.
@@CyberCurtainTwitcher the new us mint prices do create second thoughts.
As much as I was looking forward to receiving my coins, I canceled my subscriptions.
I wonder if they'll get the message 🤔
Oh, wait, it's the government 🙄 what was I thinking 🤔
Enough people walk away and the message will land.
Love the breakdown and comparison. Excellent video. The mint...sigh, always thinking about profit...big profit.
Boom! The mint thought so much about profit that it backfired!
Numbers don't lie. Wow!
Last year’s first week sales 95% of upper Mintage to this year’s first week sales of same Mintage was pretty shocking.
Where do you find how many Morgans and Peace Dollars that have been sold?
Us mint site under about. Then production. Then cumulative sales.
Weekly reports of numismatic coins.
@@SilverHeist I found it thanks
Last year I got three of each coin, this year I canceled all subscriptions of the Morgan and peace dollar, eagles are my favorite group, love the song, Wasted Time, Keep Stackin Bro
Keep stacking!
Life’s Been Good to me so Far. (Walsh/Eagles).
Tell me if I'm wrong, but didn't the mint raise their prices the last time the silver spot price went up over $30 and ounce ? But when the spot price of silver dropped, their prices never dropped. Then the spot price rose again, and they raised their prices for a second time for the same spot price. Double whammy as far as I can tell.
Double jeopardy! You might be right!
I dont buy from the US mint. I was in on the 2021 Morgan/Peace fiasco, and I vowed to never buy from them again after that mess. I CANT WAIT to get rid of all my 2021 coins.
The subscriptions were a good answer to the Chaos of crashing websites, but raising prices two days before the big coin release was a bad move.
It's criminal raising prices !
Isn't it the law to not profit off the coins ?
💯 thx. For the view of the situation..
Best of collecting to you sir.
Happy collecting to you too!
Never had gotten anything from US Mint
but do have an iPhone
Stack Strong 💪🏼
I’m an iPhone fan and stacking fan!
Music to my ears 😊
Rock on!
Pretty sure the mint director is a dei hire
@@SilverBackStacker the US Mint is not enough about excellence
I have stopped my subs … I am buying gold instead . I have a lot of silver so I am happy with my silver situation. Great video
Thanks! $91 is awfully expensive for less than an ounce of silver. Nice coin, but many options out there including Gold! 💪
I am stuck on 49 philly and San Francisco dimes. Last 2 I need and I just can't find the right coins for the right price. So, I bought a 1921 morgan silver dollar graded MS63 for $53. The last 2 dimes will cost at least this much, if not more. I will keep looking until I find the right ones.
Patience will pay. Might as well get the right shine at the right price.
Great video. 🤘🏼
Glad you enjoyed it
I went with the 1776 first pour bar by first majestic
@@alienal8278 nice! 🇺🇸
We have been trying to tell them, but what would we know! 🍻
Maybe the US Mint will see now that they killed the golden goose.
I didn't buy any 2021 morgan or peace dollars, but I do have 2 complete sets of 2023 coins. One set is cacg, and the other set is pcgs. I might or might not buy graded 2024 coins. Not for sure yet.
I like the coins. Nice things are expensive these days.
I cancelled everything except the Innovation Dollars. Have no intention to add them back.
You are not alone in canceling subscriptions! Bad move by mint.
I changed my subscription down to one each awhile ago. I received 3 coins and was billed for an extra Peace dollar. I'll keep it but kind of sleazy transaction
Weird of Mint to change the price at last minute. Only some people were quick enough to make adjustments, but many lowered quantity or lowered it to zero.
It’s a shame, because it’s a nice coin.
They lost my dollars!
Plus many many more lost customers.
I canceled all my subscriptions from the mint. If they lower them back again I might think about buying some slightly overpriced products. Right now they’re very overpriced.
Many came to the same conclusion. Lots of cancellations.
I been buying these. Not really sure why. They can't even make them a full ounce, all that packaging just takes up room and means nothing, and I thought these would be a hit but no one seems really excited about them. The finish of the coins also seems too chrome like.
I might try to auction off all of them then buy bullion. Along with that stupid batch of colorized I stand with Israel silver eagles. Everything has been a numismatic flop.
The Peace and Morgan dollar coins used to be a hit, but the mint killed the golden goose.
Some people just wanted one, some people wanted one per year, and some people have moved on.
To add insult to injury, Morgan and Peace dollars do not even contain a full troy ounce of silver - they are 0.859 troy oz. Does it cost more to obtain these odd-sized planchets? This program should have been one and done in 2021 when it was the 100-year anniversary.
i don't buy the box , i buy the coin. its cheaper to buy in the aftermarket period.
Very true.
Did not order these do to the price shake down!
Price went up a lot, at last
Minute.
Sent mine back, I was too late to pausing my subscription. trying to overcome my fomo.
Getting a count of how many are sent back will be the next shoe to drop.
There is a limit to what people are willing to pay. This price hike is extortion!
You can only push a man so far and think he’s going to keep moving in the same direction.
And what does the government call real inflation?
That’s another story. There’s inflation and then there’s the govt numbers for inflation.
@@SilverHeist Cooking the books club
Their goal wasn't to sell more silver this yr...they had to get our of their paper silver short position and that was costly
They raised price sooo high that they made less money !!!
@SilverHeist the mint "bets" on the price of silver....they got caught on the wrong side of the trade and then they were forced to charge more to make up for their loss..I agree they screwed themselves and sales sucked
I dropped all but one peace dollar
@@markWilliams-bw7uj I like the Peace Dollar! Great coin!!
Just like my first ex wife. All she wanted to do was TAKE TAKE TAKE TAKE TAKE !
TAKE TAKE
I canceled my subscriptions. I didn’t want to, but enough is enough.
Many people drew a line. The mint lost a sizable amount of customers.
@@SilverHeist my theory is that they intentionally did it. Less materials, less labor, and they increased price $15 each. How much overhead do they save? Or, they are using materials, and labor cost to manufacture other products.
Stop taking it up the axx! BOYCOTT THE US MINT!
Many cancelled their subscriptions. So the message was sent!
Who would have thought the greatest country in the world would have one of the worst mints. No diversification when it comes to weight or shape (1,5,10 oz bars) and crazy premiums. Imagine how cool it would be to have an American Silver eagle bar or a Gold one. Do better US mint 🤦♂️

Thank for watching 👀

@@natemr4482 thanks Nate!
It's about a 20% price increase. Silver is up almost 26% this year.
I'm sure packaging costs went up. I'm not defending the US mint just saying. The numbers are there. This being said I don't buy any of these
But they were overpriced before increasing price
@@stephenbassett9451 I agree
Nice things are expensive and getting more and more expensive, unfortunately.

I canceled my subscriptions. They can keep their crap for that price
It’s an expensive coin for sure. You are not alone in canceling.
