    The best video thus far in not only applying different edge finishes but also comparing it in a simple and easy way to understand!

    Wow!! 🤩🤩🤩
    I've just read some of the techniques earlier, but this video made so easy to understand. Thank you so much for this.
    😊 ❤❤❤
    I think I'll go for an edge coat coz I need to fix a gouged/deeply scratched old leather bag.

    Very nice video presentation. Like the styling of your shots. Information was also very useful for those working with veg tans. If there are those out there using chromium leathers for handbags you may want to look at Giardini base coat to get a nice rounded filled in edge with filled in pores (since you can’t bevel and burnish). This would be followed with any edge paint of your choice. Finally though I have no experience with using their top coats, they do sell top coats at different sheen levels to further protect edge much like finishing with wax or tokonole (great product) is done on veg tan leathers. I have had good luck so far with flexibility and integrity of my edges. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques.

      Thank you for your meaningful review~ I better try Giardini next time.

    Excellent video. I see you speak very well in English. Not many from Korea do speak English fluently, except those who live in English speaking countries. I watched some of your videos before making leather goods. finishing edge is a big work. The Hunori is called in Japanese "Funori".

    I’m the type of student that needs to know why, not just how. Even though people say use slicker “gently” I was constantly rubbing too hard, not understanding what “gently” actually meant. Until someone told me that strength wasn’t needed, but friction/heat which melts tokinole/wax. That changed my way of understanding what gently means. For the edge coat method are you using wax first? It sounds like you said “bunch” but that’s not something I’ve ever heard.

      @kkomedacolour  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi!~ Ive never used gum drag before. But i think that is for fill in some space or cracks on the surface. And tokonol is for smoothing the surface after sanding. Thank you for watching my video. And happy new year in advance!!

      안녕하세요~! 후한 댓글 넘 감사드립니다!!!^^ 후노리로 마감을 할 경우 토코놀 보다는 유리같은 느낌이 들어요. 청각채라고 하는데, 가로세로 5cm정도에 200ml정도로 졸이면 되요. 넘 오래 할 필요는 없구요, 졸이다 보면 풀처럼 풀어지는 순간이 있어요. 후노리의 질감이 없어질 정도면 됩니다. 이쁜작품 만드세요!~

    • @kkomedacolour

    Hi, thank you for sharing this video! Is Tokonole only suitable for veg tan leather? What kind of sandpaper do you normally use for sanding the edge?

    • @kkomedacolour
      @kkomedacolour  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! You can also use color edge coat and hunori for veg tan leather. And I use 1000 and 400 sand paper. Thank you for watching my video!!

    • @pamthetraveler7224
      @pamthetraveler7224 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use tokinole on chrome tan and even “bonded” type leather when I recycle upholstery leather. Obviously it doesn’t work as well but it still gives a nice shine if you are gentle. Friction is what’s required for tokinole not pressure, but most don’t tell us that. Once I learned that, it saved some of my edges, especially the thinner leather. I’m not a pro though so my recommendation is to try it. I have recycled club chairs and couches so I can practice. Not a perfect substitute for any/all leather but it’s been great testing patterns and stitching.

    • @kkomedacolour

    what grit of sandpaper you recommend for this?

    • @kkomedacolour
      @kkomedacolour  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do use 2 kinds. If the surface is a bit bumpy, I start with 400 and finish with 1000. But if the surface is smooth enough, i just use 1000.
