    I'm a big Henry fanboy and Ruger fanboy. But I love all lever action rifle's and I believe Ruger will bring back Marlin to it's glory day's. The only problem is now I have to buy more gun's. Oh wait that's a great thing! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

    I bought an 1894 in the late 1970s and regret selling it. Luckily, I inherited a 336 made about the same time. It is solid as a rock.

    Nice, I had a 336 LTS 16in barrel and a Bushnell scope that burned up in a house fire, I still think a lot about that gun , it was the first deer rifle I bought 300.00 bucks , it took a lot of lunch money to buy that rifle. Blessings and a Wonderful Thanksgiving to all !

    When was this video made? It posted 5 days ago, but Marlin is out of business and has been for a while. Ruger bought them and hasn’t released a Marlin product yet. Their first is the 1897 in 45/70. It’s not due for release until mid December.

    Ruger doing new 1894 in. 44 this summer...can't wait, my 1895 SBL in 45-70 is on par or better than pre 70 JM Marlins

    I really dislike the front sight hoods. I have lost I do not know how many on my Marlins and Winchesters. I am always ordering a new one it seems like.
    My 1894 is a earlier JM pre safety model in NRA 98% . It is one of my favorite Marlins. A few others I really like that I own is a 80's model 39 and a model 56 steel receiver. I also own a early model 90 O/U .
    I have early Winchesters but I have always preferred the Marlins with one exception. I own a 1886 Win that is actually up there in my pride and Joy series that I own. It was handed down to me and will go to one of my sons. It is in stunning condition and only goes to the range. I never hunt with it because I know I will just trip over a rock and break the stock. So she is a safe queen. I instead take my Marlin 1895 SBL ( Remlin) with me when I am in bear country in Alaska.
    I was lucky and I purchases one with no issues and fit and finish was spot on.
    I have two Marlin XT models one in .22 LR and the other is a bull barrel .17 HMR.
    Although these are later produced firearms I must say for the price they really are great rifles.
    I am seriously hoping Ruger decides to start making the 39's again. I would love to own a stainless version. I already have a earlier made 39. I missed out on a take down model a few years back and wish I had snagged it up. It sold within a half an hour online.

    The Marlin websight states that the barrel twist rate is 1 in 20 while the presenter states 1 in 38. I hope the presenter made an error. 1 in 20 would be way better for the heavy bullets and modest velocities.

      barrel is 1 in 20 specifically for the reasons you mention.

    I'm genuinely hopeful Ruger will make the 336 in .44 magnum along with their transfer bar safety. I think with the transfer bar, you might could actually do away with the grip safety as well.

    • @Nick-wn1xw
      @Nick-wn1xw 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well that would be rather dumb on a couple points. First the crossbolt safety is an added safety, it doesn't replace anything. Second the "grip" safety is a trigger block safety and ensures the gun cannot fire without the bolt being locked closed. Be pretty stupid to remove that. Thirdly why bring back the 336 in 44 magnum when they already have the much handier 1894 and the 336 never really worked well in .44--which is why they stopped producing it. I have no idea what you're going on about with the "transfer bar safety" unless you're suggesting incorporating a handgun safety feature into the rifle which would be really stupid.

    I have an opportunity to get a presafety 1894 44Mag in trade for my big 500mag. Should I go for it? I come to the YT for answers, it’s that desperate!

    • @Nick-wn1xw
      @Nick-wn1xw 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      People get their knickers in a twist over that safety for some reason. I like having it but very seldom use it. When I do use it I'm glad it's there. Would I trade? I would because I have zero use for a 500.

      It depends on what you load it with. Buffalo Bore hardcast 340 grain traveling at ~1500fps and 1500lbs of energy would stop a bear. Just gotta place the bullet where it counts as it's true with any caliber, and this one from Bufalo bore will break bones and tear up the inside of a bear.

    I've had 3 Marlin 44 1894's: WHAT A WASTE!! NONE ever worked; one out of 50 rounds would load!! SHOW us the action; the 1873 would lift, align then feed rounds straight in...these 1894's angle-up push rounds relying on luck and a prayer they'll chamber!!! DID RUGER FIX THIS CREATING A NEEDED WORKING ACTION??? LIKELY NOT as they implied in that disclaimer!!! All 3 looked good BUT none worked!!
