    Aria first opened in the CityCenter complex in Las Vegas in December 2009. This was my first time actually staying in Aria and, needless to say, our stay was full of hiccups and disappointments. But is this spot right for you? Join me as we check it out!

    Thank you for such an honest review! My husband and I have been to Vegas several times (pre-2020) and have always had a wonderful time staying in very spacious rooms/suites. We have stayed at Hilton Grand Vacations Club (2 bed, 2 bath suite that we shared with a friend), Tahiti Village Resort (off strip timeshare), Wynn and Palazzo. Thankfully we have never had issues with the cleanliness of our rooms. That would be a deal breaker for me. Sorry your experience at the Aria left much to be desired.

      Sounds like you've stayed at some good places! Palazzo is one of my all time favourites and actually the first place I ever stayed in Vegas. I'd still be willing to give Aria another chance but yeah this stay just wasn't it. We did a tour of another room last year that was so nice. Still a little banged up but much better than this room. Thanks so much for watching and commenting 😊

    The lack of obvious things being overlooked is very concerning to me. What else are they not cleaning/tending to?? Likely an understaffing issue but it is still no excuse. It’s not cheap to stay at these resorts and you should at the very least know you are staying in a clean room.

    • @Spot_Wright
      @Spot_Wright  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You're absolutely right and that's really gross to think about for sure! At the very least, they should absolutely provide you with a clean room. And you can definitely see the people servicing the rooms don't care. This isn't unique to MGM properties either as we have had similar experience in Caesars properties as well. Sad to see Vegas going in this direction.

    I've stayed @ Aria three times this past year including one stay at The Sky Suites and completely agree with your assessment. The basic rooms are in need of a refresh along of the Sky Suites. But it's really the lack of attention to detail and sense of pride by some of the staff that needs to be addressed by management. Yes, Aria has a great pool and restaurants but basic expectations are not met.
    For my next stay I'm seriously considering going back to The Bellagio ( yes I'm an MGM guy ) or even checking out The Fontainebleau which I'm guessing is really going to be happening come pool season.

    • @Spot_Wright
      @Spot_Wright  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So it wasn't just us! I have noticed this at many properties in Vegas over the last couple of years and it's unfortunate as prices continue to rise but the value doesn't.
      Bellagio is nice for sure but I've also experienced issues there as well. Cosmo is a great option and will soon be in the MGM network. People seem to really like Park MGM and Nomad as well.
      We hung out at Fontainebleau for a few hours and really liked it. It's a new place so customer service is always going to be better in those situations. Definitely worth trying them out and giving them a chance!

    Great video! Thanks so much for your honesty!
    Wow, this really sounds like my stay at Bellagio - especially the room service. I had to call several times for that.
    I'm hoping not to have the same experience at Vdara but one never knows. Is Vdara as far off-strip as Aria? I kind of see it as being a bit more walkable (even to Park/NYNY, etc.)
    I had considered Fontain Bleau, but I also prefer to be more central strip as I don't rent a car so it is much more walkable. If they build the area more bilt-up around Fontain Bleau/Conrads (Resorts World) etc, I think it would be a nice option to stay.
    I am curious your thoughts on Conrad in April. I think I might try and head down to that end for one of the nights even just for a walk around there and Fontain Bleau to check out EDC activities.
    Nobu sounds interesting, but with the bad services at MGM higher-end properties, I would not like to pay for a stay at Nobu only to find that the higher end Ceasar's property is the same.
    I have been wondering if service is better if you pay more for higher-end rooms? That shouldn't be the case, but it seems to be the way that things are going now - the attitude on higher-end properties in Vegas really seems to be like Titanic now - Base rooms are what most travelers will go for, its probably where they make the most $$, but you're considered "Third Class" so don't expect service. Sad really.

    • @Spot_Wright
      @Spot_Wright  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Vdara and Aria are very close to one another so you are definitely in a similar situation distance wise to the strip. That clip at the beginning of the video that shows Aria was actually taken from the pool deck of Vdara. Don't let that discourage you though because Vdara is much smaller and a lot less busy as there is no casino and not a lot of restaurants or lounges. You also have the built in walkways to Bellagio and Cosmo so it's really not that bad. You will get your steps in though! I will definitely be posting of my experiences at Conrad so stay tuned for that! You'll have to let me know what your thoughts are if you check it out. It's a nice property and Fontainebleau is definitely really cool!

    Aria is my favorite place to stay in Vegas. I love the location, casino and overall size of the property. I have experienced some of the same issues with getting the room serviced. Ever since covid, it has not been the same, which is disappointing, but is not a deal breaker for me, as now I call housekeeping in the morning and request the room to be serviced. I know, should not have to do that, but it saves me from being frustrated when I get back to the room after a long day of being out and about. My stay is 100% comped every time already, so if something does irritate me to the point I need to complain, they usually give me food and beverage comps. Now that the Cosmopolitan is part of MGM, I may book there next time.

    I do like that bathroom! minus the tissue on the floor lol It doesn't look like that bad of a room. After watching and hearing everything. That would definitely be frustrating. I wonder how long that Dr. Pepper bottle will be there. The big hotels need to realize that there are people out there like us that review rooms and you never know when someone is going to put that out for everyone to see. Rooms should always be clean and ready for a review whether it's video or a Google review. Thanks for the video!

    • @Spot_Wright
      @Spot_Wright  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely. It should be review ready regardless of who is staying in there. Free or not, people book a room expecting, at the minimum, a clean and safe place to rest their heads. If you can't even provide that then what are you doing? That's sort of unfortunately the way a lot of Vegas hotels are going these days and it's just sad.

I was busy attending a conference and didn't have time to follow it up too much at the time. It was GROSS! So it seems like I have had better experience at Park MGM and NYNY [lower end hotel] in their peasant rooms with getting room service than you did at Aria. Seems like the furniture has as many dings and scuff marks as like the Excalibur. Anyway I have stayed at the Aria and i know this is personal preference, but i don't like the casino and I felt like we were really far away from the strip. Again though I know Casino is just preference. Park MGM is my go to hotel though.

      @@Spot_Wright NO i am fine with there base room but if you have the money they have some suites but they are still just larger base rooms. If i remember right , the suites didn't have anything special outside of being a larger room. I would not pay for a strip view, you are so far back and because the casino is like in front of the hotel you can't really even see the side walk. I enjoyed the room view of the nyny coaster or and not in a creepy way but the pool. Because we could look down directly at the pool from our room and see if it was a good time to go down or if it was too crowded, open recliners, etc if that makes sense. @@Spot_Wright You can not combine most offers/comps consecutively at MGM. If you want to stay 4 consecutive nights at Aria, 2 nights would be comped, but two would be full price (or maybe 10% off). They are also only good on certain weekdays and there are blackout dates.
      Best thing to do if you're looking to save money would be to just do the two nights and then stay at a non-MGM property the other two days if you can get an offer from somewhere else.
      There are no additional nights or other add-ons needed to purchase to use the comp, so if it was a 2 night stay only, you only pay the resort fees (unless you're Gold+) and taxes.
